How can you not be thrilled with love and chocolate?

Well, in this story Love & Chocolate which includes recipes we find Sarah's deadbeat husband leaving her and her son alone at her family's restaurant.

After such a terrible breakup Sarah vows to never let another man hurt her again. However, here comes Blake. All he wants is for Sarah to give him a chance at love.

Will they make it? Well, you have to read the book. However, make sure you do because this was well-written with great characters and obviously a love story all rolled up into one.

This was a new to me author with a lovely second chance romance, a sweet and a bit angsty at times story, well written with great characters that are reliable and the power of love that breaks every wall we build around a broken heart.

Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for my review copy

Chocolate! I fell for this book by the title alone. It kept me engaged and rooting for the couple. Loved it.

Sarah has taken on more responsibility with her grandfather and cousins chocolate business. Between managing the restaurant and managing the catering of a huge wedding, she has plenty on her plate (and not the chocolate variety). Not to mention raising her son after her ex left her high and dry. With no time to socialize, her cousin sets her up with online dating. One night, Sarah meets a man online and begins a harmless flirtation with him. What she doesn't know is that her online flirtation is with non other than Blake, one of her suppliers for the restaurant and a man who has had is sights on her for a while.

I found Sarah exasperating and Blake slightly creepy since he was well aware that it was Sarah he was talking to, when she had no idea it was Blake. When it eventually comes out, Sarah wonders if she can trust Blake. Since it's a romance novel, obviously everything comes together in the end. I just didn't care if they got there or not.

I throughly enjoyed this sweet romantic story. This was a wonderful book about families, love and strong female characters. It will give you serious chocolate cravings with the amazing descriptions of the chocolate treats. The characters were relatable and easy to fall in love with their story. I highly recommend reading this delightful book. Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I have already suggested it to all my friends!

Love and Chocolate by Gail Clear is a beautifully written story about Sarah, a single mother with a chocolate obsession and Blake, a man who is just as sweet as the ice cream he makes.

Sarah hasn’t has good experiences with men in her life, starting with her father. Reluctant to trust, Blake has his work cut out for him. As such, this book is a sloooooow burn. Not overly dramatic or riddled with inane plot twists, this book really made me feel like I was watching a real story in real time. I wished we could have actually seen more interaction and dialogue with the two main characters, however. I also admired Sarah’s evaluation of herself as well. She knew she could be irrational and I like that she understood that she needed to work on herself.

Clear’s writing also weaved in beautiful descriptors and how can you go wrong with artful descriptions of love and chocolate?? I loveeeee that not only did I get to drool over the chocolate dishes mentioned in the book but the author also gave us recipes!! A true angel!

Love & Chocolate is a good story. It has strong likeable characters that do what it takes to flourish in their life. The setting is warm and inviting. The writing is smooth and flows easily. The build up is interesting. There is romance, good food and nice and easy interaction between all of the characters and there is even a little bit of suspense worked in there.

Chocolate and Romance, what's not to like? A lovely romantic story that is well written and held my attention throughout. I'm now interested in seeing what comes next from this author!

I could gain weight just reading about all the wonderful chocolate dishes. And home made ice cream, yum! What an amazing idea for a backdrop to the romance. Blake sounded amazing and yet still single. Sarah has serious trust issues. The combination made for a good story. I enjoyed the story.

Lovers of desserts and lovers of romance will embrace this contemporary romance. Sarah has been hurt and is suspicious of men. Blake is too good to be true which normally is a sign to run but he really is that wonderful. Supportive characters add to this story.

LOVE & CHOCOLATE is an engaging, sweet romance that will touch your heart, and perhaps fuel some anger against your least favorite ex as well. Sarah is putting her life back together after the divorce from her worthless piece of humanity otherwise known as her ex-husband. He’s done a number on both Sarah and their son, Devon. In fact, she’s far better off without him but the jerk has left emotional damage behind. The kind that refuses to trust any man ever again, and the kind that needs a very good man to overcome. Blake could be that man — but first, Sarah has to let herself trust not only Blake but her own judgment as well. That’s not going to be easy for Sarah is, at times, her own worst enemy by believing the lies and insecurities about herself that her ex-husband fueled. Add in a bit of a mystery and you have an entertaining story to enjoy for an afternoon or so.

Both Blake and Sarah are portrayed with all their human frailties and mistakes. And they do make mistakes, yet they can be overcome with a little bit of trust — and that is hardest for Sarah to do. I enjoyed their bantering, getting to know each other in different situations and the chemistry is there between them should they act on it. Although the steam level is medium with a burst at one point, this is really a fade to black and use your imagination level of steam.

I don’t know if more than one story was intended for these characters, but I’d certainly enjoy the story of two secondary characters who just might have been tossing off a bit of steam themselves. I’ll have to investigate if there were any more stories around The Three Chocolatiers group of characters. In any event, I enjoyed this story, I had fun with the characters and that is the whole point.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

***Love & Chocolate was a somewhat wordy second chance at love story about a insecure, divorced mother of one and a man who is very interested in pursuing her online in secret and in person. She is unaware that the man she is sexting with is the sexy ice cream maker who has business dealings with her family’s restaurant, but he is well aware. The path to a happy ending gets complicated and didn’t keep me entirely engaged. I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley. My review is voluntarily.

I love a good romance involving chocolate but I wasn't feeling this one. I just couldn't imagine the hero as this gorgeous, mid thirties kind of guy. He gave off a creapy, stalkish kind of vibe. His interactions with the heroine are awkward and their nightly sex texting are weird. Just didn't do it for me.

Sarah loves chocolate and she loves her son. She works at an amazing restaurant with her family called The Three Chocolatiers. Her grand parents’ meeting is even connected to chocolate.

She has been badly hurt by her ex husband who betrayed her and then abandoned her child. Sarah hates to see her son go through what she did, feeling like she was a disappointment to her father.

She being single for years and her cousin tries to push her into online dating.
One night she meets a man online and wonders if flirting with him could be the harmless distraction she needs. Because she can’t even bring herself to think about having an actual relationship.

But what happens next is interesting. Sarah starts to form an actual attachment to this harmless stranger. And she also finds herself becoming attracted to someone she knows in real life. His name is Blake and he sells homemade ice cream.

Blake wants to prove to Sarah that he isn’t like the men in her past. But he has to work hard and be patient to get past the walls she’s built up.

I just wanted to say that everything in this book sounds delicious. I drank three hot chocolates while reading it.
This book will make you think of chocolate.
And ice cream.
And two cute little dogs named after chocolate themselves.
And it will make you think how lucky you’d be if this restaurant was real and Sarah and Blake were your friends, who would bring homemade ice cream and brownies when they stopped by :)
