"Original Description:
A brand new collection of beautiful quilted and stitched projects by internationally-renowned designer, Lynette Anderson. Lynette brings her distinctive style of patchwork mixed with exquisite hand embroidery and applique to the theme of nautical quilts. This subject was inspired by her own family history and her grandfather's career in the navy, giving it a very personal flavour."

Absolutely WOW, the projects in this book are truly stunning, the colours and designs just blew me away. I have seen Lynette Anderson's work on tv and I always thought it was beautiful but probably out of my ability level, so I was very pleased to have the opportunity to review the ARC. Whilst it is fair to say that the projects are definitely heirloom quality when completed, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. So much so, that this has given me the confidence to think I can at least have a go and just maybe I can be brave and create something I could be very proud of. A definite 5 stars - I would give more if i could!!
With thanks to the author, F &W Media and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

I really enjoyed this book. As a patchwork and quilter I am all too aware that there are a lot of sewing books on the market but this is a beautifully soothing book which presents 12 nautical themes projects (from quilts through to needlerolls) along with diagrams and written instructions. A variety of techniques are used (machine patchwork, embroidery, english paper piecing) with projects to suit all ages, skills and abilities. A beautiful sewing book which will be a great addition to the bookshelf of anyone with an interest in textiles and/or crafts.

This is a beautiful book and, as one would expect from Lynette Anderson, combines patchwork  with embroidery in a masterful way. The instructions are clear and easily understood while the illustrations give each project the 'make me' quality which quilters will readily recognize.

Based loosely around her grandfather's life in the navy the projects cover the tiniest items, a snips holder or pencil case, up to beautiful full sized quilts both pieced and appliqued. There is a concise but informative section at the beginning to explain the equipment and skills needed to complete all 12 items contained between the pages and at the end the templates to help ensure your work comes somewhere close to that of Ms Anderson.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it to anyone who wants to take their quilting and embroidery skills on a journey or is a fan of Lynette Anderson, this book will surely satisfy both.

A beautiful book with a lovely fresh feel to the projects. A total of 12 projects ranging from full sized quilts to small projects such as a pencil case and a needlework roll. The projects incorporate applique and embroidery as well as quilting. They are beautifully photographed. Techniques are clearly explained. A very inspiring book.
