How have I never read Mel Teshco before?? This book was so amazing. With an extremely well developed cast of characters especially Galan and Layla. They had the perfect amount of romance, sexual tension, and sexy times to keep readers turning the pages. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and I will definitely be looking up author for further books in the future and now. Happy reading!!

❤️❤️❤️
💋💋💋
A steamy, passionate, romance
One that will definitely be for you if you are a fan .

The two main characters have challenges of their own.
Gallan is a ladies man , but his one night rule stands no matter who the lady is , no long term relationships .

Layla comes from a dysfunctional home , her dad is a womaniser and a drunk , her mum is a stripper, but the two stay married, go figure.

When after 6 months Layla decides now is the time to get Gallans attention she does it by auctioning herself in his club , of course he has to bid.

A good read, but I felt it didn’t do justice to their relationship other than in bed .
In around 3 weeks they went from boss and employee to a lot more and the only thing in common was sex .
Maybe I missed something but I felt they should have had more of a connection. Hence the 3 stars .

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Galan Black - one of the three soul owners of Black Pearl , the oldest Black brother , conservative, commitment freak ,hot blooded , passionate , responsible, enthusiastic, possessive lover , sex God
Layla - waitress at Black Pearl , hardworking, passionate , enthusiastic, workaholic
.
All three Black brothers had taken the rundown, three-storey warehouse their parents had put their life savings into and converted it into a nightclub with two function rooms, the Garden Café and top-level living quarters. But, instead of celebrating the feat together as a family, with their parents supporting their dream of owning and running their own nightclub, a drunk driver had plowed into their parents’car and instantly killed them.
.
But never deflated from their aim to be successful ..
The story starts with a VIP AUCTION for charity at Black Pearl . With the help of the two younger Black brothers Aiden and Liam , Layla who desperately wanted the attention of Gallan , participated in the auction for SIDS charity ...
Gallan who already has eyes for the beautiful and hardworking Layla , gets frozen on seeing that conservative Layla on the stage walking in nothing but Heart-shaped pasties that barely covered the nipples of her bared beautiful breasts, her waist-length, dark hair fell like a curtain around her exquisite body , where a short peacock feather skirt with feathered train. The suited men around him went ballistic with their bidding. As a surge of something primal and totally foreign rose up from within, he raised a bidding paddle and named a price that sent the room deathly quiet. One hundred thousand dollars. From here their journey begins . Both have certain issues , Layla with her trust issues and Gallan with his commitment issues . Despite of this they both are compatible in and out of bed. The book has quite a no of steamy sex scenes 😍🙈the story is mindblowing .you will get to know the one secret he has witholded from his brothers at the end . To know how they dealt with their own issues , secrets and the misunderstandings between them ,you have to read it by yourselves.
.
I truly loved the book .. it was utterly butterly delicious . Am still fanning myself 😍.the best part of the book was how Gallan and Layla enjoyed themselves on the beach .how they shared the laughter ,their time together. I truly appreciate the relationship the siblings shared and how they played cupid in Gallan and Layla's story.
I give it 9/10
I deducted 1 bcoz i so wanted an epilogue😣

Go and buy your own copy 😍😋

Layla works for the Black brothers in the bar and café areas of their nightclub/event establishment. She has had a crush in the oldest brother, Galen, for months. Finally she comes up with a way to get his attention ... join in the lineup of women who are up for auction at their charity event!

Although their attraction is steaming hot, both of the characters are flawed, and have family and trust issues that threaten to interfere with blossoming relationship.

Highest Bid is a great book for the cottage, the beach, or anywhere else you want to lose yourself in a romantic story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Layla is instantly drawn to her new boss, Galan, but tries to keep herself out of the limelight until she feels the need to attract his attention. She puts herself forward for the annual charity auction hoping he won’t be able to resist her. Her dreams come true but then she starts wondering how long can their relationship last considering his past record. Quite simplistic but entertaining. Sorry, but this just didn’t do it for me. I really struggled to finish. The story didn’t interest me, I couldn’t connect with the main characters... it was mainly just sex and dialogue. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC.

A great start to the Bachelor Brothers of Sydney series.
Highest bid by Mel Teshco.
A spicy romance with great character development and dialogue.
I can't wait to see what the next book in the series brings to us.

I feel like I got whiplash from this story. One second someone is mad and/or overreacting, the next they are sweet to each other. This goes for the main characters and secondary characters alike. The dialogue seems stilted and it made me feel embarrassed for the characters who had to hear them speak. This just didn't do it for me.

Sex, sex, sex. That pretty much sums this entire book. Let's be honest, the relationship between Layla and Galan was a complete joke and the instant love component to this erotica was almost too much to bare. I'm not going to lie, I was slightly intrigued at first when Galan discovered that Layla pretended to be the ugly ducky before blowing him out of the water during a charity auction event where she revealed her true colors but then they suddenly wham! Bam! I love and want you in my life after what… 1 week of endless sex and and barely there conversations? Nevertheless, the writing style wasn't too cringe-worthy so I'll give the author kudos for that and if you're a reader looking for a quick erotica then look no further, this would be ideal.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. I have to admit I was conflicted with a number of things with this book. The age difference bothered me for some reason, the whole “bidding” concept rubbed me the wrong way and the secret turned out to be kind of lame. I was thinking the secret would be he had relations with her mother since they were closer in age.

This was not one of my favorite storylines but I would give the author another chance.

Highest Bid by Mel Teshco is a quick and very steamy read. Unfortunately I never seemed to connect with the main characters and they didn't seem have any connection except in the bedroom. I'd give this 3 stars.

This was a fast read. It was two people who were damaged by their own parents’ relationships and family secrets. So, with that, they too carried their own secrets. One thing they couldn’t hide at least to those close to them was their lust for one another.
You need to know you will be finding a very sexually active couple. But as far as the characters will allow us to know. Are having sex only with each other. Although if you talk to Galan commitment is not his thing.
Come on the man is thirty-seven when is that going to start? When AARP starts. He wants to be with Layla at least all his action and most of his word say it. But then he tries thinking. Which put in the wrong hands could be dangerous. As Galan so many times proves. Because when he thinks crazy sometimes mean things come out of his mouth.
His reality check arrives when Layla has a come to Jesus moment with her Dad and he tries (Tries being the operative word here,) to calm her down. She turns on him for siding with her dad. For what she believes is him siding with her father’s infidelity. Yeah, his up close and personal focus of his womanizing makes him think.
Was Galan immature in his actions while still being an Alpha? Hell, yeah! But he was a kid, only nineteen so yeah, when his parents died. Caring for two brothers, a family secret, and gossip over the way they died. While still trying to fulfill the family dream of opening the night club, with a restaurant, and a reception hall.
As far as Layla, she way to serious for her age of twenty-three. But with her family and the grief, she suffered alone, not so much. She was a child raising herself with two effed up parents right in front of her, yet she might as well have been invisible. So, she learned to become a master of disguises to hide in plain sight. Except from, Galan who loved watching her. Yet, had no clue she had the biggest crush on him. He just needs a wakeup call.
Totally enjoyed this read. I give this: 4 stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.

Layla is a 20 something young woman working at one of Australia's hottest nightclub. The nightclub is run by three brothers, the eldest being Galan who has caught the eye of Layla. Galan is well known for being a player, but that doesn't stop Layla from trying to tie him down. I'm giving this story a three star rating because while I liked it, there was something that I can't quite put my finger on that made me not enjoy it to its full potential.

An unapologetic player and a reserved wallflower… one night would never be enough

That's the blurb but I'm not sure I'd describe Layla as a wallflower given how you first meet her in the book! She does have good reasons for being cautious around men. However, she choses to do something outrageous to get the attention of Galen, who she's physically attracted to but has had next to no time to get to know - that wasn't convincing to me at all. It seemed way too out of her supposed character for me.

Galen has his reasons for being a player and not wanting to settle for one woman, with the family secret he's keeping. This I found much more convincing, once I found out the family secret right towards the end of the book. He's all for sleeping with Layla, and gradually comes to care for her, that I found that more convincing.

The story flows well, but I preferred Galen to Layla.

I struggled to finish this. It felt like it started off in the middle of a story, and everything was so instant that it just didn’t flow nicely or even feel real. Everything that happened was in the space of a couple of weeks, which is just unrealistic and not believable at all. Very disappointed.

Now Galan doesn't like to boast, but he likes to make sure his woman knows all his good tributes, "...his head and murmured, “Just so you know… I’m big everywhere.” Galan loves to share his thoughts, “I’m thinking about carrying you over to those rocks behind you, where I can eff you in private,” he growled." I liked this book, I liked Galan.
