What a great book! The mystery at the center of it pulls you in and the parents of the missing child are relatable an believable. I loved the ending and the twists and turns to get there.

DCI Rachel Hart has the haunting job of finding Cassie Bailey before it's too late. For Rachel it's especially hard as she and her twin sister were taken as little children.
Cassie's parents are devastated her mother is on the edge of a breakdown from the stress of a marriage that has serious troubles and now a missing five year old daughter. Figuring out who is telling the truth and who is the liar keeps DCI Hart in a state of frustration. As days go by the fear grows it could already be too late for Cassie. Someone is telling lies and Hart is going to find out who.

i have to admit that as i started to read this book i did think oh um a predictable storyline...dad cheats on mom, mom kicks him out and daughter is then kidnapped...just another one of those...

but i was surprised...it wasnt predictable at all...there were elements to it that kept me reading...so many red herrings about who could have taken the child and then the cat...oh the poor poor cat...

so i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes a cosy mystery that starts with dad cheats on mom, mom kicks him out and daughter goes missing cos this is a story you wont be expecting...

keep an eye out for this author they rock

This was a perfect summer read. When a little girl goes missing just five weeks after her parents have separated, everyone in the family’s circle immediately becomes a suspect. This is a page-turner, a barn burner, a real hoot.
I loved the way the story is told from multiple points of view as it kept things moving along rather quickly.
My only knock is that I figured this one out pretty quickly, however it did not dampen my enjoyment at all.

This book seems to want to be a fast-paced police procedural, but... it's not. Not especially fast-paced, and very little police procedural beyond snippets. Much of the book is spent on the interaction between the main characters, almost all of whom are very two-dimensional, with lots of dialogue, much of which is flat and a bit tedious. The agony of parents with a child missing is unimaginable, and the author does get the extremely tense situation spot-on. However, there were several very improbable, and foreseeable, twists to the story. All in all, it was a good premise, a read that - for me - was "okay", but not anywhere near great.

Little Girl Missing is a fast paced, absorbing story about Cassie, a little girl who disappears from home during the night. It's not clear how or why. Did mom Naomi snap in anger and hurt her child? Did Cassie simply leave on her own volition, or did someone come in the house and take her? Was it her daddy, Charlie, who hasn't seen his daughter in several weeks because Naomi threw him out of the house for betraying her? Or could it have been Hazel, the grandmother who misses the little girl so much? Thank goodness Naomi has her lifelong friend Kate to help her through this terrible time!
For DCI Rachel Hart finding Cassie is personal, reminding her of something that happened to her as a child.
The entire story takes place over a period of only 4 days, but it's a tense and suspenseful few days as each of the well developed main characters has possible motives for Cassie's disappearance. There are twists and red herrings along the way. Hints helped make the story even more interesting, but I admit I never saw the twist at the end coming! I enjoyed this book although I found it a little predictable. Maybe it's because I have read so many books in this genre that I picked up on some of the plot twists early on. I liked the characterisation although I could have slapped Naomi on occasion. What earned this book an extra star and left me likely to read any future books by this author is Rachel's back story. We were given little hints of the trauma she endured as a child and I assume the author intends to give us a little more in future books. I have to admit that there was a twist regarding Rachel that left me stunned, I really wasn't expecting it at all.

This book was a pretty standard Whodunit. It was fast paced and had a great story line. I found it slightly predictable, even with the plot twist. The characters were well developed, over all it was a good fast paced, suspenseful read.

Definitely a fast paced thriller. I kept switching who I though was the kidnapper. I did figure it out about 2/3 of the way through but I was totally caught by surprise with the ending. Great twist! Kept my attention- Didnt fall in love with any specific character, but a good book in total.

Naomi and Charlie are having marriage troubles and she has kicked him out. Struggling to cope with their daughter and being a single mum to Cassie, one night Naomi takes a sleeping tablet. In the morning she finds Cassie gone. Enter the detective Rachel, with her own back story and struggles can she solve the case to get Cassie home.

I’m a huge police procedure fan but this lacked something for me. I wasn’t keen on the phone call dialogue as it felt forced but all in all a good book. 3.5 stars from me! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Wow, this was a really good read had me from page one and I just couldn’t put it down. Lots of different twists and turns although I did pick up who I thought was involved. Naomi and Charlie have been happily married for a while but after a huge row one night Charlie finds himself in the pub drowning his sorrows and telling his sob story to the one person his wife hates Jessica after being bullied at school by her and after the fact that Charlie had dated her twice before they got together. He ends up totally drunk and Jessica offers to give him a lift home but when he wakes he is in her bed naked. Jessica has sent a picture to Naomi saying they had had sex the night before. Because of this Naomi throws Charlie out of the marital home and stops both him and his mother from seeing their daughter Cassie. 5 weeks on and Cassie disappears from the house. we are then introduced to DCI Rachel Hart who has some baggage of her own from something that happened when her and her sister were younger. She has to get to the bottom of what has happened to Cassie. Has she been abducted, has she been murdered are any of the family involved who is telling the truth and who is lying you will be left guessing.

This is a great read and I highly recommend it

Plenty of twists and red herrings keep you engrossed - flows well and overall an enjoyable read.

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Plenty of twists and turns and red herrings to keep me engrossed. I read it in 2 sittings as it kept me on the edge of my seat and I just wanted to find out what happened. I will look to read more by this author.

2.5 stars rounded up. Some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, but the mother’s anger surrounding the disappearance of her daughter and the marital issues were a bit farfetched for me. I was intrigued by the description of the book, but I was not prepared for the tedium of the first 50% of the book. Overall, I’m just not impressed.

Another excellent DCI Hart mystery. A 5 year old girl has disappeared without a trace and her parents are frantic. The parents have recently separated so the father is suspect and well as his mother and an ex girlfriend. This story moves slowly and has a lot of emotion but it does keep your interest. Lots of twists and red herrings.

Great read. I will also be reading more from this author. It keeps you on the edge on your seat. I thought I had it figured out, but I didn’t see that coming! 4 stars

Naomi is distraught over her husband’s betrayal, cheating on her with the person she hates the most so she kicks him out and refuses to allow him to see his daughter Cassie. She can’t sleep and has lost a lot of weight. Her best friend Kate has always been there for her and knows that she needs to get some sleep so she can take care of Cassie properly. Kate convinces Naomi to take some herbal sleeping pills so she can get some sleep. When Naomi sleeps through the night and wakes up to get Cassie ready for school she is missing.
The detective on the case, Rachel wants to know who could have taken her? Rachel is battling her own demons and has her wondering if she should have taken this case at all as it seems the kidnapping is bringing up memories from her past.
There are many suspects in the case such as her husband who hasn’t seen Cassie in the last five weeks or could it be his mother who has made an unscheduled trip at the last minute to see her sister hours away. Or could it be Naomi herself who just snapped from lack of sleep. Is the kidnapping for revenge or love or something else?
I did not see the twist at the end. It definitely surprised me. I kept thinking that I knew who it was and changing my mind. Thank you netgalley for the ARC!

Domestic thriller that kept me on edge.

DCI Rachel Hart is determined to find missing five year old Cassie after her mother Naomi put her to bed one night and woke to find her missing.

This case hit close to home for Rachel because in the past when she was young her sister was taken as she races to find Cassie she knows that it someone she knew.

As Naomi and Charlie try to keep their problems aside they wonder if they see their daughter again and even though I figure out who the kidnapper were it still was good introduction for first book in the series.

What a brilliant book from Julia Roberts, I just love domestic thrillers and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. A brilliant page turner with plenty of twists and turns and I just enjoyed the way this author writes.

Although I did guess who the main suspect was after something the author said I didn't guess the twist at the end. All the characters were brilliant and I will definitely recommend this book on all my Facebook Book Groups.
