Tense chilling unputdownable. Perfect for those who love a well written thriller.#netgalley #littlebrownuk.

Really enjoyed this. A very easy read which sucked me in and spat me out a day later. An ideal summer read for those who don’t do romance books.
I have a real love of school based books, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. Highly recommended.

I loved Zoe Lea's book If He Wakes, it was one of my favourite reads of 2018 so i was really pleased to be able to read an ARC of The Secretary.
Straight away I was drawn in by Ruth and her son, really feeling for her in the situation she found herself in with Rob and his wife and what she would do next. I found myself wanting to scream at some of the staff and parents at the school, that's how the book gets you! I loved it.
Guess I've just got to wait now for the next one by this author!

2.5 out of 5. The Secretary has a great start petty school dramas are my guilty pleasure so add in some thrills and you’ve got a winner! So why 2.5? It all goes downhill from the middle, it drags on a little too long and there’s one comment regarding footwear that makes it obvious who the bad guy is and I became distracted after that.
The first half is amazing and if that suspense was kept up all the way this would be a clear 5 out of 5.

A real and compelling story of the politics of the school playground. Any mother will relate to this story. I felt so sorry for the main character Ruth and was really rooting for her throughout. An interesting and fun story xx

Gripping, taught and twisty! I devoured this in less than a day! Well worth a read if you like thrillers.
