I enjoyed this even more than the first book in this delightful series.

Flora, who we met previously, is the owner of the bookshop and cafe in Honeyford. She finds out her husband is having an affair and moves out of the marital home and in with local resident Luna who is very spiritual and owns her own mystic shop in the village.

Luna's son, Daniel, and grandson, Caleb, also live in the family home following the death of Daniel's wife in a car accident some years previously.

The story follows the intriguing friendship between Flora and Luna, a potential blossoming romance with Daniel and the obnoxious husband (Graham) trying to win Flora back.

Fans of the previous book will be delighted to get glimpses of Callie, Noah and grandpa Stanley throughout!

There is a bake-off, a mystery author (who actually wasn't a mystery to me but it was still an excellent subplot) and a comical storyline involving a famous author as well as a happy ending that I was rooting for from the get-go. Readers will find Flora so likeable, it was great to get her story this time around and I can't wait to re-visit Honeyford for Becca's story!

My many thanks to Bookouture via NetGalley for providing me with this advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

I received a free copy of A SUMMER ESCAPE AND STRAWBERRY CAKE AT THE COSY KETTLE by Liz Eeles in exchange for an honest review. This is the sequel to NEW STARTS AND CHERRY TARTS AT THE COSY KETTLE. This book focuses on Flora, who is the newish owner of the Cosy Kettle. Flora is torn between her desire to be a good wife to her husband of twenty years and her longings for belonging to a community and for running her own business. Flora finds out her husband is cheating on her, and her husband places the blame for his adultery squarely on Flora and her recent inattention. Flora decides she needs time to decide what she wants, so she moves out and stays in the attic of her shop. When the local eccentric offers her a room, Flora jumps at the chance to escape the enormous attic spiders. Only after she moves in, Flora discovers Luna’s irritable son and timorous grandson also live there. This is Flora’s journey to discover where her heart truly lies and to connect with the Honeyford community.

I liked this book. Since I could see where everything would end, I would classify the plot as fairly predictable. However, we all like happy endings, don’t we? I recommend this book.

I loved this book. We first meet Flora in 'New starts and Cherry Tarts at the Cosy Kettle' book, where she takes over the book shop in the village of Honeyford. We return to catch up on her story. After making the decision to spend some time apart from her husband, who seems to be in the middle of a "mid life crisis", Flora throws herself into her work and being part of the Honeyford community, which is full of brilliant characters. Read for yourself to see how she gets on. This book is a page turner from the start. Its warm, charming and laugh out loud funny. A thoroughly enjoyable story.

This book is a lovely heartwarming weekend chilling one. Flora was determined to make herself be part of the community and follow with her heart. I'm so glad she did and saw what her husband was actually like. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be reading Callie & Noah's story. Stanley was a very funny character. 5* all round

I had loved the first book in this series and was so happy to see the next one available. The Cosy Kettle is the kind of cafe I dream about and I had adored the love story in the last book. This one was just as good! Flora and Daniel were a great match, and I loved the character of Luna. I'd highly recommend anyone who is a fan of Cathy Bramley to pick this book up during the summer to read on holiday. It'll be the perfect way to relax and fall in love with the Cosy Kettle all over again!
