I love tucking into a Veronica Henry book, it's like a warm blanket that makes you comfy and relaxed. A Home from Home is no exception. Even though it tackles some difficult life issues, you won't want to put it down. From the first chapter you're taken into the lives of all of the characters, both in their pasts and present. It's like you're there with them, along for the ups and downs and the will-they won't-theys.

For years there has been a long running feud between the Culbornes of Rushbrook House and the Melchiors of Dragonfly Farm. And yet as the events unfold in this book, we see just how connected the families history's are, whether they are aware of it or not.

I loved meeting Tabitha and Georgia and seeing just how Gabriel fitted into everything. There are secrets galore in this story, some of which I had more of an inkling towards than others.

This is a really enjoyable family drama, where although the focus is on the current generation, we discover all sorts of interesting things about many generations of the family. And then there is Gabriel's life which is up in London, with his partner and young daughter. I found his job rather interesting, not seen a knife maker before in books.

There is a huge amount of story packed into this novel, but at no point does it feel overwhelming. It's all really easy to follow but its now as I'm trying to work out what to say that I'm thinking, just how many storylines I've read, and different threads that needed to come together. It really is incredibly fine writing.

I adored the setting of Dragonfly Farm, and would have loved to get to know great uncle Matthew even more, than what we do see from him. He sounds like a rather special man.

I really enjoyed reading A Home From Home, its full of love, family relationships, potential romances, a real sense of family history and some surprises along the way. Really glad I have had the chance to read this latest book from one of my favourite authors.

Thank you to Orion and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book explores a long running feud between two families, the Melchiors and the Culbones. And secret after secret after secret is revealed leaving the families reeling, but, ultimately, allowing them to view things with new eyes. Wonderfully drawn characters and a well thought out storyline make this a real treat!

I love Veronica Henry’s books and this one doesn’t disappoint.

The story follows the Melchiors and the Culbones who have been at each other's throats for generations. When Matthew Melchior suddenly passes away, secrets come tumbling out of the woodwork that leave everyone in shock.

From the enticing cover to the excellent story inside, this book is perfect from start to finish.

Veronica is fast becoming one of my favourite authors I now don’t read the blurb but just pick it up because it’s by her. This book was yet again fantastic and what a lovely cover too. Loved the characters and plot and had me hanging on and guessing from the first page until the last because of which made me fly through this book.

This book explores a feud between two families and I liked that it kept me guessing right until the end, where secrets are revealed.

I like how Veronica Henry writes, with credible characters who have real warmth and depth. This is a story set in the countryside and she brings Somerset to life.

Veronica Henry’s books are always a treat to look forward to and A home from home is no exception.
Set in the gorgeous Somerset countryside this family based drama centres on a long standing feud between two families the culbones and the Melchiors and their respective homes of rushbrook house and dragon fly farm!A perfect feel good family drama that that demonstrates how history and it’s secrets affects ongoing generations. A cast of many characters with differing personalities and unusual names makes for a lovely feel good read to curl up with at home or to take on holiday!

I first read a Veronica Henry book when I was heavily pregnant and loved it. This is another fab novel that wraps you up in its characters. I loved the storyline and front cover is so summery and pretty. An excellent read.

This is yet another beautifully woven together story from Veronica Henry, I couldn’t believe how quickly I seemed to finish it, I flew through it as I enjoyed every page enormously. There’s a mix of everything in this - history, mystery, feuds, secrets, love and above all family. There’s a great mix of characters, all fully formed and great to read (although some of the names are somewhat unusual!) with good interaction between each other. The story is simple but works well and the Somerset setting sounds glorious. This is a wonderful book to curl up with and just lose yourself in.
