When I feel like going on a holiday, but cannot afford to take the time off, there is one great solution for me that works every time. I pick a book by this author. She has taken me on trips to Italy and Greece and it feels like she has become my digital travel agent. 😊

Each and every book is gorgeous. The author makes me feel like I am there too and I feel can the warmth, not only provided by the sun, but by the lovely stories as well. I am not reading them. I am living them. I know it’s fiction, but somehow it does warm my heart when people find their one even for some it takes years. Better late then never, right? Better spending fewer years with your true love than spending a life time with someone you muddle on with.

So after have accompanied her characters on trips to Greece and Italy, it was time now to pack my virtual bags and hop on a plane once again. This time Liv and Faye are my travel companions. They are visiting Liv’s aunt who runs a bakery. Destination: Antibes in the south of France.

I would suggest you read this book when you have just eaten, because if not you are going to faint with longing. The dishes and pastries that are described are just to die for and I swear I could smell them too.

Liv has two goals when she steps on that plane. One is a lot more easy to achieve. Will she succeed in fulfilling the second one as well?

Book your ticket, pack your suitcase and come on this adventure too. I loved it. 5 stars

Thank you

This is a perfect book to read in the summer, whether you are at home or laying around in the sun. Liv is an amazing main character, so relateable and made me laugh many times throughout the book. From the start you could tell her son - Jake and her baking were so important to her and big parts of her life. So when she has to revisit the past, there is no telling what the future holds once that door is opened. I loved the characters, the humour, the backdrop and most importantly the juicy story which filled the pages.

Unfortunately, I was slow in downloading this story and it was archived before I had the chance. I'm sure it is a wonderful read.

I was so excited when I was granted access to this book! I needed a cute read to stave off the scariest between murder, murder, and steamy romance. This beauty did exactly that!!

This was such a fun, book to sit down and enjoy! I had such a blast with the characters and all of the shenanigans that they got involved in! I absolutely cannot wait to read another book by this author! Such a fun storyline it was hard not to love the characters. This is definitely a fun pick me up kind of book to enjoy on the beach!

Thank you to the publisher, author, and Netgalley for the gifted review copy. All opinions are my own.

I found this book very readable, wanting to read what might happen next in the story of single mother Liv.

I loved the description of the south of France, I could imagine what it was like to be there. The Idyllic setting and romantic plot was great to read but I found the style of writing not quite for me.

That said it’s an entertaining book that is a good summer read.

Antibes in French is the setting of this wonderful summer read where we meet the main character Olivia in search of the father of her child after 20 years. She spends her time helping her aunt in the bakery and enjoying the amazing summer in this grand place. She is searching for a man named Andre and destiny steps in and allows us to see the details of her search.

The plotline is a well humored one and very possible. We learn about her first meeting Andre and how that shaped Olivia and all of her thought at the present time. We learn about her true fears - what if/when she finds him what will happen? Are they destined to be together or is she just living in a fantasy dream?

All the characters in the book, the secondary ones are so well described, especially people Olivia meets and befriends, as well as the food. Oh my - the food descriptions are so evocative that I wanted to step in the book and dine with them!

The overall impression of mine that this book is a real dedication to the perfect French cuisine, scenery and way of life. You will certainly enjoy it as a wonderful summer read and picture yourself there.

I was so happy to read another book from Sue Roberts! And this is one of her best novel! It's well written, the characters are well developed and I loved following them. I also loved the fact that this story takes place in Antibes, France. What a lovely setting for a book! i could almost feel there myself! I also liked the plot and Olivia's research to find the father of her 20 year old son who was also her first love. So much is happening in this book (but not too much), you never get bored. A real page turner! Perfect holiday read that also can be read all year round!

This was an entertaining, quick beachy read. Single mom Liv goes to France in search of her son's father whom she hasn't had contact with in 20 years. The story follows Liv as she "comes into her own" while also reuniting with her lost love. It was a solid read with some funny moments.

What sweet Summer time Read
This book we leave you hungry and read to bake with the descriptive creations the characters are concotting. On the plus side, Sue Roberts shares the recipes if you are so included to hit the kitchens.

A Very French Affair was a warm and easy summer read. Sweet situations, family and friendships with little to no conflict that was character internal dialog contrived. I liked A Very French Affair but in the end it was just a like.

A solid read which is exactly as the blurb describes. Enjoyable but not the sort of book that grabs you and makes you finish in a matter of hours.

This was a cute read about a British woman who takes some time off from her busy cake business to travel to southern France for a few weeks to care for her recuperating aunt. At the same time, her son is home from college and starts asking difficult questions about his father. Liv knows who he is. A holiday love affair when she was 18.

But if she finds him... then what?

a holiday affair at 18 leaves Liv pregnant, with no way to tell Andre as he has gone off travelling. Fast forward and her son Jake decides he wants to know who his father is. Aunt Gen still lives in thr very area they first met, so Liv returns to see if anyone knows of Andre’s whereabouts. A lovely summer read.
