Sarah is looking forward to summer and playing the lead in the Tempest with her friends the Greenley Players, and is love on the horizon with the gorgeous Dr Finn? Nate is on a high with his acting career in the West End until a mistaken drunken one night stand comes back to bite him, where all is not as it seems...... but try telling that to the press! Fleeing from the press to hide out in Greenley he comes across the Greenley Players and wants to help out with their production..... especially the lovely Sarah!

Another lovely book by this author and great to be back in Greenley with Lottie and the rest of the crew from the first book. Lovely warmhearted story perfect for the summer

Summer Season on the Seafront is the second book in the series, but you can easily read it as a standalone.

A story about well likeable characters that all of us might meet in life, a location that is picture perfect and a pinch of romance that doesn't take over the book but is quite nicely the anchor for the story.

For a sunny morning on a beach or when you want to smile reading something this book is a great choice for you.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Although this was a little slow to start, once it got going it was an absorbing read. With two parallel plots, plus the play, there was lots going on. As the characterisation was a little caricature in places, it was easy to keep track of who was who.
Slapstick in parts, this book had me chuckling at the idiotic behaviour and funny tactics (mostly to avoid the press intrusion ... )

An enjoyable read 3.5*

This is a lovely story, it is well written and I loved the plot!

This is the perfect book to read at this time of the year to escape from the day to day mundane tasks, and rubbish weather as we have where I live today!

I love the setting for this series and the author does a brilliant job of bringing it to life for me, I loved being able to catch up with the fantastic characters too. It as well written and I really enjoyed the flow that the author has with the story, it is a very easy story to read.

This is the second book in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The first book was also a lovely read so I would recommend reading that first so you get to know the back stories of the characters as I think that will make this book even more enjoyable.

It is five stars from me for this one, a delightful read and I am already looking forward to her next release!! Very highly recommended!!

Another great read and it had me smiling as I read it which is always a good thing. It made me think of my childhood holidays by the sea, making sandcastles and running in and out of the sea.
Lovely book to read whilst on holiday. Hopeful more to come from this author.
My thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

In the little town of Greenley-on-Sea, summer has arrived. The turquoise waters of the sea sparkle in the sunlight and, along the beach’s promenade, holiday-makers spill from ice-cream parlours and vintage shops.

For Sarah, summer brings the chance for a fresh start. As well as playing Miranda in the Greenley Players’ production of The Tempest (where she’ll get to spend loads of time with her best friends Lottie and Sid) she finally feels ready to find love again after surviving heartbreak. Could handsome colleague Dr Finn Macdonald be the very man she’s looking for?

Famous actor Nate finds himself hiding out in Greenley whilst a potentially career-ruining scandal blows over. But when the Greenley Players get wind of his arrival, they draft him in to help out with their performance – and Nate certainly doesn’t bank on his instant connection with the beautiful woman in the lead role…

As the temperature rises and the Players’ performance draws closer, can Sarah and Nate overcome their pasts and find love again?

What a brilliant book to escape in. I finished it in one sitting.
Believable characters who you genuinely care about and an easy to follow plot.
This is the perfect book for lying on the beach with.

I didn't realize this was book #2 from this author. I haven't read the first book, The Little Theatre on the Seafront. I also haven't read from this author before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a fun, beach read. Very funny, laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed it so much I'm off to read book #1. A must read and a new favourite author.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

A fantastic follow up to The little theatre on the seafront. The storyline is a bit different to the usual summer holiday reads as it revolves around an amateur dramatics group. The characters are very likeable and there are some real laugh out loud moments, normally involving Mrs Andrews!

Oh, it feels so good to be back in Greenley-On-Sea for Katie’s second book following a wonderful bunch of characters, who we was introduced to in Katie’s debut novel, The Little Theatre on the Seafront. In Katie’s debut, we followed the story of Lottie, who made her late nan’s dreams come true by re-opening the theatre, whilst also falling in love with her best friend along the way.

This time, we get to follow and learn more about Sarah – a member of the Greenley Players theatre company and now, best friend to Lottie. After copious amounts of heartbreak with men in more ways than one, Sarah is ready to jump back on the dating wagon and what better way than trying to win Dr Finn MacDonald over?

Dr Finn MacDonald is not the only man we meet in Sarah’s life, as famous actor, Nate, soon finds himself in her hometown, escaping a career-ruining scandal. With Nate having nothing to do until his name has been cleared up, he begins to support the Greenley Players on their next show and in the process, can’t seem to keep his eyes off of the leading lady.

Another wonderful story within the Greenley-On-Sea world that had me filled with so much joy regarding reconnecting with all of the characters once more and meeting new ones. You've done it again, Katie - well done! I can't wait to see if Katie will continue this series for us to explore the story of another Greenley Player, but for now, I'm counting down the days until we get her new Christmas novel, Snowflakes at Mistletoe Cottage!

Sarah is back at it again this witty and fun novel!! She’s getting into hijinks and pursuing men like it’s her job. The play is the best part!!

Thank you to Netgalley for a pre publication copy of Summer Season on the seafront. In exchange for an honest review.

Sarah lives in Greenley-On-Sea, where she was born and bred, a beautiful seaside town. Sarah's family life has not always been plan sailing. Sarah's father was an accountant however soon wished to increase his funds to treat Sarah and her mother. This led Ben to steal from his firm which led to a 7 year imprisonment and many rumours which were started near this time. Shortly after Ben's imprisonment Sarah's mother was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer and died relatively soon leaving Sarah alone in Greenley-On-Sea. Sarah is a doctors receptionist and is swooning over Dr Macdonald. This forces Sarah to plough herself into the am dram group which was newly established in a Victorian theatre on the sea front. Here Sarah makes many friends; Lottie and Sid who both work for the local newspaper and have recently begun a romantic relationship, Gregory and Cecil who own the local B&B as well as a bookshop and are so romantically in love they share their life together in every way. Amongst a few other newbies to the groups; Conner is hoping to expand his experience in drama for his degree, Mrs Andrews (Money-bags) is the local MP's wife and Debbie is the resident Scot who keeps everyone on their toes. However Sarah is missing some romance in her life. Nate Hardy is a famous actor who ends up landing in Greenley-On-Sea. Is it Nate Hardy of Dr MacDonald who is due to take Sarah's heart.

Firstly the cover is bright and warm and this directly drew me into the book.

Some research into this author has told me that this is her second book and actually there is a book before this one in the series. You would not know this when reading and this book makes a great stand alone book as well. Something I think this author has got down to a fine art.

The book is not your typical romance story where it is sometimes known from the start who the main character will fall in love with. This book gives you two options the whole way through and you feel yourself being torn between who you want Sarah to fall in love with. This keeps you hooked and wanting to read more to find out.

The characters are well rounded and you feel that you know every single one really well when the book finishes. The author brings you into their lives and allows you a beautiful view of their quirks as well as how each one is unique and has a story to tell.

The only downside to this book is that there is a lot of plain writing in the middle regarding Nate Hardy. When reading this book I felt that it was quite repetitive in the middle and we kept going around and around in circles regarding the Nate Hardy story. There was only minimal new information given in the middle of the book. New information was given in 1 sentence and then the rest of the chapter was about what we had already read in the chapter before. This does detract from the flow of the book and make it a bit of a slow read in the middle. However once you have got over this you find things are beginning to play out in front of you and you begin to get back into a page turner.

As in its predecessor, it is the community which lights up this story. The Greenley Players are such a varied group of larger than life characters and it is lovely to catch up with them again. Summer is in full swing and the town seems to shine in the sun. Lottie and Sid are still together but it is their friend, Sarah, who takes centre stage. You see her gaining in confidence as the story unfolds and she has an interesting relationship with her father which has to be worked through.

Perfect for a summer read, you feel yourself relax into the story. There are some moments of humour to go with the romance which is brewing throughout. Family and friendships are central and this gives the book a feelgood flavour. I found both Sarah and Nate to be likeable characters who carrried the story well. I'm hoping we get to see what the Christmas production is going to be. There is plenty of scope there for the Players, I am sure.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book.
