Entanglement: Quantum + Otherwise is the first book I've read by this author. It was interesting and intriguing. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

"Entanglement: Quantum + Otherwise" is a rather complicated story to follow. There's a lot of characters and a lot of time covered. This isn't really my usual read but it's an okay story overall.

There are eight main characters for this tale. Its going to explore so much entanglement. It's a bit of a bouncing ball, as there's a lot of time and people covered here. You have 2044, 1984, and 2070! That's a big time frame. More so, this frame involves multiple people and they are kin to each other. There's a lot of mystery, and some suspense, and you might need some generational thinking here. It can be quite dark, and not for everyone, but I usually can't walk off from a good mystery. This story is character driven, so you will be getting to know these folks in this story, Where things are harder is that it needs a chart so people don't get lost with the time jumps as the connections are slow to connect. I almost worried I'd hit a butterfly effect. With some extra calcification I think this book would be much stronger, but it's very different and interesting - unless you get lost when reading it.

Net Galley = thanks for the digital copy. This review is mine, and a positive one is never required.

I have never read anything by this author before, but I am sure I will read another book written by him! This was such an intriguing book. All the character seemed to mesh together so well even though you wouldn't believe it possible. A bit heavy in the science but it is explained quite well. Great job John! Thank you for the great book!

This book weaves together a number of characters whose lives keep intersecting. They run all over the spectrum -- strippers, priests, moms, professors, cops, paramedics; and have many twists and turns over the span of several years -- killing, loving, keeping secrets, etc.

It's an entertaining book that could have used some editing to tighten it up a bit -- sometimes clauses and descriptions ramble a bit to distract from the meaning, but overall a worthwhile read about how our actions affect each other. Going quantum seems a bit buzzy, and only one character has any real knowledge of what that might mean -- but we all affect each other, intentionally or otherwise, to varying degrees.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was talking about some people who were connected but separate. It was interesting how the author was able to join the storylines and entangle them. It’s by no means a good feeling happy book and instead makes you face a reality. Not quite my cup of tea but the writing was good and I finished the book.

This is a complicated exercise in storytelling for which I must admit I am not quite the right reader. I was drawn to the synopsis and the idea; the actual story itself kept losing me. To be honest, I kept putting it down and for me, that is often the kiss of death. I picked it up again and again but I never was able to immerse myself in the tale. I love the idea of different time periods and one ill-fated family. I wasn’t drawn to any of the characters and the big reveals about them, therefore, offered no great impact. This book will find devoted readers: those who love wry descriptions, offbeat relationships and sly humor. I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

A surprisingly fun story to follow. It was a little less science, and more heart than I expected. There is laid out a cast of imperfect people spanning generations, and you see how their lives intersect. The invisible, sometimes almost visible thread that binds them. All and all I will give it out of 5 Stars a 3.75. I will round it up to 4 as I really was caught off guard by the characters I rooted for, the shock of loss, and the yearning for connections some went to hear lengths to get, or be rejected. I honestly thought it would delve more into multiverse more than the scratches it gave. But, the future is important. ;) It's a good book to get lost in, if you can handle the time jumps. They all mean something, and none of it is inconsequential.

There were parts of this book that I found fascinating but I just could not finish it. Perhaps I am too old but I just kept getting confused about the characters, the plot.......Sorry. I like the writing and the descriptions were great but I just could not follow it...I tried!!

Quantum entanglement seems to be a concept that few understand, but that many are trying to use as a metaphor. Danenberger describes a number of people whose lives are entangled, though they don’t know it. It’s a little difficult to follow at first, but eventually the stories of children abused and separated, of good people helping others both in Maine and the island of Jamaica, and lives lived badly come together.

A well done novel concerning the cause and effect of one generation's actions on the people coming after them. The book is populated by eight flawed characters living their lives in ensuing times with their thoughts, deeds and actions having direct effect on others. The story starts out with a collision between a Volvo and a Pickup truck. The action erases two important scientific discoveries. Events stemming from the accident creates a chain of events involving people somehow tied to those that took part in the crash.
The reader is led from person to person, event to event in a novel carefully planned to follow the sequence laid out by Mr Danenbarger. The process is cumulative what happens to whom and how does it effect the other principals in the book. Quite well done and an engrossing read highlighting the author's work.

An exceedingly good premise - weaving a number of lives together in a very intricate way. We first learn of Beth and Joe. From there we go to Bermuda where Beth is literally shipped out from Bangor, Maine. This story is about a number of people - some more down in luck than others - who interact with each other in the most amusing and surprising ways.

Although this does not detract from the illusions made by the other stories, the.truck/car crash is an important event as are the nautical overtures. These same people continue to become intertwined with each other's lives: and in a most fantastical (and interesting) way.

Throw in a little sci-fi and science and you have a novel of suspense and intrigue. The book is a bit lengthy but it does pack a lot in!

My thanks to StormBlock Publishing and NetGalley for a fun and innovative adventure!
