I absolutely adore this book! There are not a whole lot of modern weaving books out there with projects I actually want to make but this book is different. The photography is beautiful too!

Clear and bright, appealing illustrations/diagrams, written in plain English, easy to understand and very user friendly. A great book for those looking to introduce themselves to weaving or progress further.

A clearly written and illustrated Tapestry weaving book by Lindsey Campbell.
Weaving techniques normally associated with floor or table looms are explained to those interested in weaving on a tapestry frame/loom. These include Twill, Deflected Double Weave, Krokbragd, Waffle Weave, Overshot and lesser known techniques such as Thrima, a traditional Bhutanese weaving technique, and Mawhitiwhiti an off-loom weaving technique from New Zealand.
There are a good number of projects at the end of the book to put these techniques into practice.

Fantastic book on the subject of modern weaving. Photos are bright and helpful, text is encouraging, and projects are beautiful. The author goes over the basics that are covered in more detail in her first book, but users can easily pick up the craft with the truncated version in this one. This book is fabulous for those that want to take the next steps in weaving. The book starts with a very good refresher on the basic techniques and preparation for weaving, and is followed by a section on intermediate and advanced work. These are really well explained and photographs, as well as being inspiring as is the next section on tapestry weaving on various frames and without frames work. The last section has projects to practice the new techniques on and would make lovely accessories for the home or as gifts. I have a large floor loom and the last project of a floor rug really interested me.
This is a wonderful book, which builds on basic weaving skills to make for a competent weaver in the end.

This book is for the weaver who has mastered the basic steps of weaving and would like to learn some more intermediate techniques. Different techniques are explained and there are several projects from tapestries to a purse, and even a waistcoat.

This is a great manual for building on basic weaving skills. Instructions and photos are clear and easy to follow. The projects provide plenty of opportunity to learn new techniques, incorporating more patterns and textures into your weaving.

This is the author's second book on weaving and expands and adds more advance techniques and projects. The first two sections cover the basics of weaving as a refresher with some advanced tips on the basic skills added. She then moves on to the more advance skills and techniques and then includes a selection of projects to inspire creativity. All skills and techniques are meticulously described in both word instructions and step by step photography. Diagrams are often included with the patterns layout. This is an extremely well constructed learning tool for anyone wanting to learn these techniques. She includes an extensive glossary of weaving terms and outlines, pictures and descriptions of the tools and supplies used. Following her instructions you can be weaving these projects in no time. Projects include rugs, vests,wall hangings , pictures and handbags. This is a necessary resource to keep near your weaving craft room.

This is the second book which I’ve read by Lindsey Campbell and it is just as beautiful as her first. The authors love of weaving shines out of every page and having tried weaving myself I appreciate the hard work which goes into the beautiful masterpieces she creates .

This book may suit the more advanced weaver, however the beginner is also catered for, as the early parts of the book revise basic techniques. I loved the instructions on how to make your own loom which was very useful.

All the projects in the book are stunning and the photographs made me want to explore the craft more. Lindsay’s weaving is very on trend with lots of pieces suitable for modern neutral interiors.

This excellent follow-up to Welcome to Weaving covers many intermediate and advanced techniques. I particularly like that several of them come from folk weaving traditions throughout the world.

Campbell does not neglect beginning weavers either. The early parts of the book go over basic information and techniques. The projects are easy and do a great job of translating the techniques to a modern clean look.

I did also like that she often commented that some of the techniques might work better on a rigid heddle loom instead of the frame loom she recommends. It's also fantastic that she introduced the reader to drafts of weaves and to many more advanced terms such as overshot. Finally, I found a weaving book that made these things comprehensible to a beginner!

The one problem with the book is slight. Most of the pictures are taken against a white background. Because the warp and often the weft is also nearly white, detail can be hard to see. If the background were slightly darker, these illustrations would be much more useful.

Welcome to Weaving 2 is good for intermediate to advanced weavers. There are several project ideas that include beautiful photos. This is a great resource for weavers.

Welcome to Weaving 2 is a tutorial guide by Lindsey Campbell for frame/table loom weaving aimed at the beginning to intermediate weaver. Due out 28th July 2019 from Schiffer Publishing, it's 160 pages and will be available in hardcover format. This is the companion book to Welcome to Weaving (same pub., released 28th Jan 2019).

Although this is a companion book with slightly more advanced techniques, it is perfectly accessible for a keen beginner, and the author covers everything from creating a tapestry loom, through warping, materials selections, different weaving techniques, finishing, etc. The introductory and technique chapters are roughly 50% of the page content. The tutorial chapters which follow include tapestries (textural, freeform, off-loom) and other projects (pouch, vest, decorative items, rug, etc). The projects are appealing and classic without being too trendy (and thus out of date). Many of the smaller projects and tapestries also use very small amounts of specialty fibres and would be great for using up scraps from the weaver's stash.

The entire book is very well photographed with clear and concise instructions which are easy to understand. There is nothing intimidating about this book and it felt to me like the best parts of a teacher led class without any of the performance anxiety.

This would make a superlative library book, gift for a fibre-arts enthusiast, or addition to the weaver's home library.

This is the second book in Campbell's weaving series. I love her books because they are so accessible. I'm often a little discouraged when I read books about how to weave because it seems so hard. With Campbell's books, each technique is carefully shown step by step in photos making it seem incredibly easy! This book is a bit more advanced than the first, but still feels doable.
