Beautiful, powerful illustrations connect a simple thought provoking poem to the long, complex and overlooked history of African Americans in the USA - but not only important in the US also very important to the rest of the world and its equally overlooked history of African peoples. Read it and try and identify all the people pictured - before you look at the key in the back of the book. Should be in all school libraries!
