Wow! I really enjoyed this book. While, I, myself do not have a drug problem, in my profession I am surrounded with many that do. This definitely helps shed some light and give what I would think would be good advice. Thank you, NetGalley, for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review!

This was an interesting book however I didn’t identify with the author at all as I’ve never had a drug problem. For former addicts I think this book would be a welcome bit of advice from someone in the same boat.

Authentic, entertaining and eye opening. Anna David has wrote fantastic essays on the before, during and after of her addiction and recovery, some more heartbreaking than the last but you feel proud to have travelled the journey with her. A brilliant read for anyone.

This book is one for your life. No matter where you are in your life you need to pick it up. I wish I had read this book sooner.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

Anna tells her story about her "wild past" involving drugs and alcohol. Upon giving up on her bad habits, she becomes successful in life. Decent read, not my faovrite but still a good topic.

This is an enjoyable light read. The title of the book is misleading as Anna only becomes successful once she stops drinking and taking drugs.

This was a super easy, enjoyable read.
The author goes through her highs and lows without ever getting too preachy.
I'll admit, I balked at the word "God" and thought "Oh here we go, another one of these quit lits that's going to start preaching about Jesus", but I was wrong to judge so quickly as Ms. David didn't make a song and dance about it and acknowledged that her own beliefs might not reflect those of her readers'.
I respected that, and she handled it in a graceful way that made it part of her own story as opposed to the saving grace for all and sundry.

I really wanted to love this book, but it fell short in my opinion

This could have been an exceptional look at a difficult situation and instead, we got stories that were not remotely engrossing.

Disappointed.

Wow. This author has written more of a memoir of messing up her life than giving advice. If you want to read a book about a smart woman who decided to do drugs instead of working hard and going to a lesser college, then read this.
