Similar to the first book in the series, I enjoyed the writing style. The chapters flew by, but I feel like Liese tried, once again, to put too much into one book. I feel like it would have been a full story if only half of the crazy things happened, and thought the stalker storyline was a bit overkill. Overall, another quick read.

4.5/5
There are so many things I want to say about this book, but I don't want to give anything away. So I'll start by saying how much adore Nairne and Zed's relationship. Their chemistry is reactive and their bedroom scenes are 🔥🔥🔥. While I found the beginning of this book a bit slower, it quickly picked up and I finished in one sitting. We all know romance books come with a guaranteed happy ending 😉, but the drama along the way was addictive. As this book unfolds you'll be laughing one minute and fanning yourself the next. There are explosions, threats, and drunken singing, and you seriously don't want to miss any of it.

What I love about this book:
1. A strong, independent female lead that seriously kicks butt.
2. A male lead that knows what he wants and isn't even slightly temped by any other woman. (Infidelity is the worst and I hate reading about it)
3. A positive female friendship without jealousy or put-downs.
4. Positive family relationships that make you swoon for all of the Salvatore men.

Overall this was a fun, but suspenseful romance read that kept me saying just one more chapter until I had finished the entire book (I'm not the slightest bit ashamed to admit that I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish). I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out and can only hope that leads to a spinoff about some of the other characters in the book (Luke, Elodie, or Tao would be wonderful).

Thank You Netgalley and Chloe Liese for a copy to review in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved this second book! The romance was HOT and the character development has really progressed nicely. Can't wait to read the third book!

This was amazing it's good to see a female charater trying to focus on her job and be happy. As Morden day women seem to focus more on their jobs than love.
I loved it and I will make me look more into doing things that bring me joy.

I want to thank NetGalley for the Arc of the second book in the tough love series. Dare I say I loved this one even better then the first. I was so excited to continue Zed and Nairne's story because there chemistry is out of this world. I loved the cover and title of the last book but this one is amazing. I love Nairne and this the title spitfire is so perfect for her.
I would say this story has quite a bit of drama in it. Zeds decides he wants to leave the mafia for good and spend his life with Nairne but that turns out to be easier said then done and Nairne does not really make things easy. Nairne is also very secretive about her past and Zed wants to know why. This book was so fun and I can't wait for the next book in their story. I also found myself loving some of the other characters in these books and it would be fun to hear their stories as well.

Adored this continuation of the previous book he’s a brute, I think this was even better, kept you turning each page. I didn’t want to put it down. The characters were well written and the story just gets better

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Love, love, love She's a Spitfire (and He's a Brute, too) by Chloe Liese. This book is reminiscent of another dirty (famous) read but has a much better story line and is written with more experience and poise.

I am so grateful to NetGalley to have been able to read this immediately after reading Book #1 in this series! And now I have to have Book #3! I adored these two characters so much -- I loved Zed in the first book but he endeared himself to me even more and I can't even express how much I admired Nairne in both books. And the title is pure perfection -- Nairne is truly a spitfire -- strong, smart, gutsy and dare I say, I have a small girl crush on her. This series has everything I look for in the suspenseful romance genre! I cannot wait for Book #3 and would most definitely recommend this series! Loved it and wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another complete knock out of a book! I loved the continuation of Zed and Nairne’s story, could not put it down. There is a lot of drama and the storyline is twisty and a bit complicated at times but that all just makes for an interesting read that I didn’t want to put down! I absolutely cannot wait for the conclusion of their story and I am hoping we get some spin off books about some of the side characters, Teo, Lucas and Elodie especially!!!

I have to say, there was too much going on in this second installment to the Tough Love series for me to enjoy it as well as I did the first book. After one problem in Zed and Nairne’s world resolves, another issue pops up and really takes away from character development. I would have liked to see more conversations with Zed and Nairne that were not focused on Zed being overly possessive and machismo and violent regarding his overprotection of Nairne. And I would also have liked to see Nairne use her much lauded level-headedness to abate Zed’s irrationality instead of inciting arguments with him. The sex scenes were similar to He’s a Brute in that they were based on roughness, however this book begged for gentleness that was not given. Both Nairne and Zed could have used soothing touches, especially after healing from violent injuries for weeks on end. There needed to have been some rationality in this book that was lacking.

Know this: Whoever reads this book definitely needed to have read book one, as it continues on after book one’s He’s a Brute’s cliffhanger. There is one more book in this series, however this book does state: The End on the last page with all of the issues from book one and two resolved.

I will read the third installment, It’s a Match for posterity’s sake, and intrigue as to how Zed and Nairne's love story ends. Hopefully the fuel Liese had from the first book will jettison towards the last book in the series and make a pull through. Here’s hoping.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Such a good read, the characters were well written and I loved the worldbuidling. The cover art is what grabbed my attention at first and the story wrapped me up

Zed has his priorities straight, "he begrudgingly brought this eyes back to mine. “After ***, we’re having a conversation about this.” The man is always trying to sweeten the pot with his lady, “but you see why you need to live here, so we can have morning *** every day. Then you’ve got my smell all over you. Keeps the other alphas away. And because we both like morning *** a lot.” I liked seeing Zed again the man was still possessive as ever.
