Wow! Wow! Wow! I really loved this book and finished it in a day. Giles was amazing and intriguing and real. I understand Felicity's struggle in a field dominated by men, having been a woman in the engineering field since the late 1980s. Her feeling of freedom in the carriage was mirrored in her freedom to be herself. Both Giles and Felicity face hard choices. It was a true joy to spend time with these characters, especially in a time where so many people are looking out only for themselves. This book is is a testament to the idea that we REALLY CAN be accepted for who we are. Highly recommended reading! Now I'm off to read the rest in the series...

One Night to Remember is the fifth book in the Wicked Dukes Club series. Lady Felicity Sutton is on a mission to find herself a husband. After 6 seasons she has decided that this is her year. Her main requirements are that he must be titled, wealthy and willing to support her charitable dreams of helping the waifs and strays of London. As the only sister of the Duke of Colehaven you wouldn’t think she would have much difficulty finding any number of suitable candidates but at the grand old age of 24 has she left it too late?

Giles Langford is feted throughout London as the curricle King and is also the owner of the premier smithy in London mainly thanks to the patronage of Colehaven so when he is commissioned by him to represent him in a race he doesn’t say no. When he first meets Felicity at the Duke’s carriage house he mistakes her for a stable lass but soon comes to respect her knowledge of carriage mechanics and eventually fall in love with her. But nothing can come of it. After all what would a blacksmith have to offer a Lady even though when you strip away the title and wealth, they have the same values and aspirations in common?

I loved the role reversal in this book. For once it’s not the Hero marrying “beneath his station” so to speak. Felicity is torn between pleasing her brother while at the same time also fearing going back to the poverty of her childhood or following her heart and choosing the man who will make her happy. Like with the rest of the books in this series, there is no angst or drama in One Night to Remember. Indeed this is one of those books that you know will leave you with a warm glow and smile on your face when you reach the end.

We always buy Erica Ridley for our library. She writes a great regency with witty dialogue and steamy scenes.

I have yet to read an Erica Ridley book I didn't love! So well written with great characters who pull you into the story!

This book was so good I read it beginning to end without putting it down! I loved Felicity and Giles. They way he just let her be herself was so wonderful. I so enjoyed her making the realization that her place was with him. Ms. Ridley continues to give us wonderful romance.

I absolutely adored this book. Loved the characters and it was so easy to root for the main ones. Can't wait to read more.

I've read Erica Ridley before, but unfortunately, this was a DNF -- I wasn't pulled in and could not finish.

This is a very quick yet highly entertaining, emotional, engaging and action packed journey filled with uncertainty, unusual circumstance and passion.... a very enjoyable read from beginning to end. Loving this series and looking forward to the next adventure.

This is technically book number five in the Wicked Dukes series, however, as with all the others, it can be read as a stand alone. Each book in the series focuses on a different couple, with very little cross-over, and no cliff-hanger endings.

I enjoyed this story very much. Giles is one of those characters you can't help but enjoy. He has taken the smithy that he worked in with his father and tripled the size of it becoming one of the most soft after carriage makers around. Add in the fact that he's never lost a race, and he makes for quite an interesting (and refreshing hero). I will admit to having a harder time connecting with Lady Felicity. While we are reminded in this story that she came from once having nothing, living in poverty before her brother unexpectedly became a Duke, she still comes across as bit mercenary in her quest for the richest husband whose money she can use to help other impoverished children. A noble cause for certain, but it takes time for the reader to warm up to her especially when she's being so pig headed about things right in front of her.

There was some definite chemistry between these two, and I enjoyed getting a glimpse of them as they worked side by side on the Duke of Colehaven's racing equipment. The fact that Giles valued not only her, but her thoughts and the changes she proposed gave a great insight to the type of person that he was.

As to the ending, I will say while there are things I wish had been done differently, I do think these two got an ending that was fitting to them and the journey they had taken together.
Overall, I would recommend this novel to those who enjoy sweet romances with unconventional characters. I would read more from this author.

Now this was more to my taste than Darcy’s book. The heroine should character and was doing something ‘forbidden’ to her - ie undertaking so-called men’s work. Being a carriage mechanic. Undertaking and devising carriage improvements. Working with her hands - good job Ladies always wore gloves and getting oily and dirty.
She also drove her brother’s curricle - a racing carriage late at night when there was no-one to see, but still not something a Lady should do.
Her only problem was her fixed idea of what she needed from a husband in order to further her ambition to found a trust for poor children. But she had gumption and showed her intellect.

Absolutely loved this story, refreshing, unique and well written with an excellent plot with loveable characters that leaves you with a feel good feeling.

Raising a glass of lemonade, and a lemon tart to Erica Ridley for this one.

6+ stars for the Curricle King and his Lady Mechanic.

Erica Ridley has created an unconventional and great pairing between a lady and a smithy. Lady Felicity and Giles Langford have mutual passion, in more ways than one!

I found this rags-to-riches story heartwarming and utterly lovely.

The Wicked Duke pub seems to be Erica Ridley's (and Darcy Burke's) nod to the sitcom 'Cheers'

Five stars.

I voluntarily read an eGalley copy. My review is unbiased and honest.

Felicity Sutton wasn't always the sister of a duke. She and her brother were raised in poverty and is now determined to marry so she can help children in poverty. Felicity masqueraded as a boy and learned the trade of blacksmithing. She is her brother's best carriage mechanic.

Giles Langford has been hired by the Duke of Coldhaven to help him win a carriage race. When the duke insists that his sister help him, Giles is at first stunned, then as he works with Felicity, he discovers he has fallen in love with her.

Giles has no money or title to compete with the men of the ton. Can he still win Felicity's heart?'

This book was absolutely brilliant. I loved the emotions behind Felicity and Gile's romance. As they got past preconceived ideas of who the other was, they realized that they had common goals. I liked that Felicity wasn't afraid to go after what made her happy.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by the author and NetGalley. Thank you very much!

I confess I didn't like Felicity at the beginning. I found her to be calculated and cold but as the story started to reveal it self you come to understand her reason for wanting to be a part of the Ton and what it represents. I loved that she was a brilliant mechanical and had the support of her brother. As for Giles; I found him to be a great man. Not only was he taking care of his parents, he was also very much involved in helping young men and women finding their spot in the world. I loved him for supporting Felicity even knowing she would never be his but that didn't stop him from loving her.

I've finished this book in one sitting not caring what was happening around me. This series has become one of my favorites because I've jet to read one where I didn't fall in love with the MC's and their road to HEA.

Can the daughter and sister of a duke find happiness with an untitled blacksmith? She does in this wonderful story of empowerment and being true to oneself. Felicity is mechanically inclined. It’s a skill she developed when she and her brother lived in poverty in the rookeries, before he became the Duke of Colehaven. And it’s her innovative adjustment to her brother’s curricle that may help him win an important race. Blacksmith Giles Langford is surprised to find Felicity tinkering with the duke’s carriage before the big race, but it’s clear she knows what she’s about. She’d better, because Giles has agreed to drive the curricle in the race. Another winner in this series.

On the surface, and perhaps in the eyes of the ton, Giles and Felicity should not work out as a couple. She’s the sister of a duke, he’s got the title of king but only in the impressive and much-wanted carriages that he creates. Felicity will never go back to poverty, and while her plan to help other children in the same circumstances she and her brother once found themselves hasn’t exactly been met with approval she isn’t giving up. The fact that Giles does very well with his business cannot be allowed to be a factor for Felicity. She may love him but she’s too afraid of going back to the penniless existence she once knew to trust that he will make her dreams a reality. It’s going to take a bit of faith, and a touch of dangerous uncertainty to change her mind before she risks losing the best man for her forever.

ONE NIGHT TO REMEMBER is a charming, sizzling romance that captured my attention from the start to the final page. Although I was definitely on Giles’ team, for the most part, it was also easy to understand why Felicity felt as she did. Add some drama, some danger, some steamy sizzling moments and you’ll discover a Regency Romance that will delight, entertain and leave you a very satisfied reader by the ending. Only one more title to go in this double authored series. I’ve enjoyed the Wicked Dukes Club series, and if this is your first time here then I would definitely recommend the entire series.

I didn't get around to reading other parts of this series, mostly because my attention was elsewhere (too many books, too little time, am I right?). But then the historical fiction phase came, and then I found this on Netgalley, all ready for me to read. The blurb was attractive enough, and I knew full well I was going to get characters that are different from what is common.

Felicity Sutton is desperate for a suitor. Having been on the shelf for years with no prospects, she and her brother Colehaven decided that they had to ensnare the very best, not only in terms of title and wealth, but for his heart towards the children of England. Having grown up knowing poverty firsthand, this has become an important goal of the Suttons, and they're determined to achieve it. Meanwhile, Colehaven has hired Giles Langford to care for his curricle. He has also instructed that Langford partner up with Felicity on this project. Sparks begin to fly during their time together, but their future together seems rather bleak. Giles has no title to his name while Felicity does. Marriage is certainly not an option, or is it?

First of all, I'd like to comment on how misleading the blurb is. Felicity is not his blacksmith, and he most certainly knew she's a woman at first glance. I'm not going to put this up as part of spoilers, because readers obviously have the right to know what they are getting. This isn't my first encounter with an inaccurate blurb, and it's getting on my nerves, so that's that.

Honestly, I actually quite like everything about this story. It's nicely paced despite its short length, it has likeable characters, and it surrounds a concept that is not often touched on in the world of historical fiction. Giles and Felicity are both so kind, hard-working and passionate about their dreams that I cannot find fault in this match at all. I smiled a lot during the time they spent together too. The one thing that lacked was the heart flutters.

I still enjoyed this novella all the same. For those who would like a short historical romance with a steamy scene, this is for you. I definitely liked this more than I did One Night for Seduction (which, I just realised, is on Felicity's brother).

This review is written based on the ARC provided by the publisher through Netgalley. This book can be read as a standalone.

One Night to Remember just might be my favorite by Erica Ridley! I loved Lady Felicity - her unconventional childhood made her an even more unconventional lady. And you all know how I love everything that's a little bit off from the norm.

Giles was 'just' a smithy, but he was a true gentleman at heart. And he was also fairly unconventional and open minded for the times.

Felicity and Giles made One Night to Remember a fantastic story - and I kind of wish there would be another story of their adventures - because they both earned a place in my heart.
