The fifth book in the Wicked Dukes Club series, and very enjoyable. A wonderful, fun story. The old adage about 'assuming things' affects the possibility of a relationship between the two main characters. Felicity is devoted to her older brother and holding strong to a promise she made with him, is affecting her chance at true love. Giles wants a true partner in every sense of the word.

I can't seem to stop reading books by Erica Ridley lately, and One Night to Remember is another gem from this author. This time we have Giles and Felicity's story.
I love how these heroines defy society's expectations: this time we have a lady who is interested in carriages. And the man who loves to race them.
All the way to nearly the end of the book, I was torn as to whom I wanted Felicity to choose. And I was troubled by what she'd have to give up to end up with the man I wanted her to have.
However, Felicity gets her happy ending and I got a thoroughly enjoyable book.

Cute story, but not believable at times. I was not sure if this was the first or second book in a series. The idea that a smart, strong young woman is able to pursue her interest/talents was what kept me reading. Some of the plot seemed a bit forced.

ONE NIGHT TO REMEMBER by Eric Ridley was an unexpectedly fun book despite its rather steamy title. As part of the “Wicked Dukes Club” series, it weaves in many of the characters from the previous books (this is the fifth), but I believe it can be read with great enjoyment as a stand-alone.

The themes of finding your own happiness, as well as your own happily ever after, are woven together. The intriguing part is that in this Regency novel, the HEA is not found in a ballroom or at the modiste or in a mansion in Mayfair. The joy for each of the main characters is found in a smithy, underneath beautifully built carriages — and no, they aren’t doing anything more exciting than modifying those carriages for racing. At least initially.

Lady Felicity, sister of a duke, and Giles, a well-to-do blacksmith and noted carriage racer, have bonded over their love and interest in carriage upkeep and modification. Felicity actually grew up in a smithy, prior to her brother inheriting the dukedom, and Giles has grown up and followed in the family’s business. Now, I know nothing about 19th century carriages, nor do I know a thing about blacksmithing. However, I have to believe that Ms. Ridley does, because the novel is subtly peppered with technical names and terms which added a just-right realism to the story.

Giles and Felicity’s growing attraction seems to be doomed as her brother, the Duke, is strongly encouraging a match with a certain Marquess, who shares Felicity’s passion for charitable works. But Giles does, as well, taking in poor children as apprentices to learn the trade of blacksmithing.

The HEA was very satisfying, as the relationship between Felicity and Giles sparkled. Each saw the other as an equal despite their very different backgrounds. Could this relationship really have happened in Regency England? I don’t know, but in ONE NIGHT TO REMEMBER it did and I greatly enjoyed watching it happen.

This one was a fun read. A Lady Mechanic and a Notorious Whip work together to win a race for the Duke of Colehaven, who happens to be the Lady Mechanic's brother.
Lady Felicity grew up poor and learned the trade of blacksmith along side her brother. Even though her status has greatly changed, Lady Felicity still loves to get her hands dirty creating and fixing all types of equipage. However, it has come time for her to marry and she must soon give up her love of working in a smithy as her new husband will surely be against it.
Giles Langford grew up beside his father in his smithy and learned firsthand the art of being a blacksmith. He has now taken over the business from his father and has expanded and become well known for his skill. His skill is not only working over a forge but also as an exceptional whip.
Can Lady Felicity really give up her craft? Will Giles ever be enough for a Duke's sister?
I loved that the h had an unusual hobby and wasn't ashamed of it. I loved the relationship that Giles & Felicity developed while working together. Meeting Giles parents...his oh so fun, parents. *sigh* These books are always a sweet delight to read.

Erica Ridley’s historical romances ALWAYS make me smile! ONE NIGHT TO REMEMBER had me grinning ear to ear from the heartwarming moments to the downright comical ones as Ms. Ridley brings her own brand of history to life with light-hearted sparkle.

Imagine a “lady” getting down and dirty like a grease monkey! Kind of give you vapors, doesn’t it? Wait until you read Felicity and Giles’ story, learn of their lives and feel the romance blossoming between them in a time when all a lady could do was marry for a title, security and position. Loved these characters! Loved Felicity’s secret defiance and Giles’ acceptance of both her knowledge and her capabilities in a man’s world.

Once again, Erica Ridley gave me an afternoon of sheer delight and swoon worthy romance with her sassy characters, light-hearted style of writing where anything can and just may happen!

After reading the previous two books in the Wicked Dukes Club series, I was looking forward to reading Giles's story.

A wager, racing and the love for tinkering with carriages brings together a blacksmith and a Duke's sister. Giles and Felicity have to work together for two weeks to perfect Felicity's brother's carriage for a race. While they are partners, they come to love each other and respect the other's talent.

The story was refreshing and great. I always am up for reading a romance that involves a non-titled gentleman. But (and a huge But here) .. I did feel that the language and instances sounded modern for a historical romance. As a avid reader of historical romance, this was jarring and took away my enjoyment of a cute romance.

I have a read a few of the previous books in this series and enjoyed them all so I was excited to see that Cole's sister was getting her book and we learn more about their life prior to Cole inheriting the title of Duke.

You just have to root for Felicity to open her eyes and see that she could have a great life with Giles instead of her thinking that her perfect life was with a titled lord that would enable her to do the greatest good for needy children. Great intentions but how horrible would her life become when she would have to play a role that was not her at all and she would absolutely hate it.

Great HEA and so glad that Cole told her to follow her heart and she listened!!

Imagine at twenty-four years old Lady Felicity is considered too old to be wed, what baloney but such is archaic society expectations then. Felicity is a radical in her own rights who wanted someone to love and accept her for who she is. Giles is just the one but society class act seems to be a hindrance or so it may seem. An entertaining and pleasing read.

This was a quick, fun read that I really enjoyed.

This is Felicity's 6 season and her last season to find a match. She and her brother, a newly appointed Duke, have a long list of qualifications for her match. Felicity and her brother grew up in the slums where Felicity often donned boys clothes, worked in the forge, and acted as a boy going by 'Felix' to survive. Felicity prefers to work on her brother's carriages but desires a husband with a title and large coffers so she may fund a charity she wishes to create for needy children.

The Duke accepts a challenge for a curricle race and hires Giles, a blacksmith and well-known racer known as the 'Curricle King', to race for him. The Duke decrees that Felicity, the mechanic for all his carriages, and Giles will work together to upgrade his curricle to ensure a win. Through the two working together, Felicity must call to question her goals for a title and desires within high society.

I really enjoyed this story and as it was only 200 pages, I wished it was longer. I liked the exploration of a woman in society that enjoyed cross-dressing and functioning in male society. Further, I enjoyed a male lead that was accepting and encouraging of a female that challenged accepted mores.

One Night to Remember is book 5 in the Wicked Dukes Club. It's definitely a stand alone since I haven't read any books in this series and at no point did I feel lost. Overall the story was sweet and I thought Giles and Felicity made a great couple. Unfortunately it wasn't enough for me to read another book in this series. I need more from my reads and this one wasn't memorable enough for me to want to continue.

Two main characters who have overcome poverty and share a love of racing curricles. Giles likes to build and race curricles and Lady Felicity is a mechanic who can tweak them so they go faster. They are a match made in heaven; it only takes them a while to realize it. Good dialogue, great story! I received an ARC for my honest review.

This book is a bit different from the other books I have read by this fabulous author. The story of a man and a woman with been taken from poverty into royalty in the situation it brings them to. A brother and sister suddenly thrown into a different lifestyle. A Sister trying to please her brother trying to do what he wants for her to do well in reality she has another dream. The excitement of the dream. The excitement of watching a love bloom. The disappointment of one person Not wanting to disappoint, and almost willing to give up her dream. an usual story

The other books in this series are all captivating, but One Night to Remember is not only about nobility and what it represents. It's about not forgetting where you come from and willing to do the right thing at your own expense.

Giles is a smithy and has a down to earth charming personality.

Felicity is a Duchess on the hunt for a husband with a title. This is what is expected from her, but finding one to help with a promise that she made at a young age is quite difficult.

When Giles first meets Felicity, he is surprised to find out who she really is, and her secret baffles him. Nonetheless, he has no choice, but partnering with her at her brother's request. They get along well and it's nice to find someone who doesn't sneer at what she does when not complying with society's expectations. They have an easy friendship and as this friendship develops into something more, they both know that they eventually have to part ways. Can they find a way to stay together?

I love both of them and what they stand for. They feel real throughout the story. The story flows seamlessly and ends on a flourish. It shows that where there is a will, there is a way. Very cleverly portrayed!

Totally competent heroine. Man who respects her. Social constraints that compel them both to deny their attraction. This is the perfect summer afternoon chocolate and novel on the sofa read. I’m really enjoying the Burke/Ridley interplay in the Wicked Dukes. Just wish I could keep up!

What a great series!
At twenty-six, this is Felicity's last chance to make the perfect match. Going through her ducal brother's list, one peer meets her brother's qualifications, but the coming race with her brother's carriage and the man who will drive it keeps intruding in her thoughts. Giles Langford is the "Curricle King" who loves racing, especially with his curricle named "BABY." He has the best smithy in town. Felicity is no stranger to a smithy. She's worked on carriages, coaches, etc. for years. Working together to ensure her brother's carriage is the best, brings them closer together, in fact it has to be love. Will Felicity give up being a Duchess, Marchioness or any other "ess"and marry the man who loves her as she really is? Such an easy read, you just can't stop until The End.

A really sweet feel good story, with two great characters. This is a great series with strong interesting characters throughout.
I really liked Giles, he seemed a bit like a lost puppy at times and I wanted to cuddle him.

This book is definitely stand alone, as I hadn’t read Colehaven’s book so I didn’t know the background.

I didn’t like the scene straight after the race it didn’t feel true to the characters or historically accurate. But the rest was wonderful. A very easy and enjoyable read.

When Colehaven is obliged to race his carriage and his wife refused to let him, he hires Giles to race for him after boasting about the vehicle a certain master mechanic retrofitted. One condition is that Giles must work with said Master Mechanic - Lady Felicity.
I loved this story. As with every book in this series so far.. It's cute, humorous, and sweet. Such fun and likable characters It's so fitting that the Wicked Duke pub was a place of honor at the end. I also loved the long anticipated race scene, but I kinda expected the role reversal and it didn't disappoint.

Felicity is a little unusual in that she is a keen mechanic and loves to tinker with her brother’s curricles. One Night to Remember is a quick and a little predictable but worth turning the page for, nevertheless. I am looking forward to the next title in this series!
