I really liked the main character and it was very wholesome and heartbreaking when she relived it all.

A moving story about a woman putting her life back together after a breast cancer diagnosis. Although it was heartbreaking at times it still had a lot of heartwarming parts. This really was a good book

Peyton's story was everything I'd hoped it would be. Her raw vulnerability and past mistakes shaped who she would become in this tug of war of emotions book.

The Wonder of Now centered around the release of Peyton's memoir that she collaborated with her brother on. It highlighted the journey through diagnosis, chemo, mastectomy and remission of breast cancer. You saw the ugly and truthful side of the illness through the eyes of someone who'd basically lived with a silver spoon. Her entire world was turned upside down with the diagnosis and she basically had to start from the bottom. She'd lost her boyfriend, many of her friends, her parents (not that they were ever really around in the first place), her career, her passions. Everything that made her... her.

Mitch, the hero of the story, was absolute perfection! His drive and dedication to his career was respectable. The value he placed on family and taking care of them, no matter the cost was endearing. My heart broke for the loss of his father and the pain he endured as such a vulnerable age. But I felt that his past really helped him understand Peyton on a deeper, more intimate level. I loved how Mitch pushed her to be more of her old self, but with renewed compassion and strength.

The opposites attract chemistry that the two main characters had really worked. Mitch was a little robotic and bland, whereas Peyton was care free and impulsive. They balanced each other out so well. And over the course of the story, really rubbed off on one another. I loved how they always treated each other as equals. Not one person's needs or desires were more important than the other's. It was a true partnership in the end.

I loved how the author managed to use a fictional story line to highlight real life issues and seamlessly stitch raw emotions and experiences into the book. The inclusion of topics like PR companies, book releases, Goodreads reviews and more was a really fun way to get an inside look at the life of a writer/author. I felt a personal connection to the story as I read, being an avid reader. At times I felt the characters were addressing me as a reader from within the pages of the story.

I always enjoy a Jamie Beck novel, and this was no exception. Just a good, solid story with well-written characters and dialogue.

THE WONDER OF NOW is the third book in the SANCTUARY SOUND series, and readers will be transported back to Connecticut and characters they’ve met before. The story picks up nicely, but this book is much darker in tone since Peyton’s cancer is front and center.

The memoir written by Peyton about her medical journey is filled with photos by her award-winning photographer brother. She found it difficult to write but now has to go on tour to promote the book, which causes her a lot of angst.

Mitch’s public relations firm is working with Peyton’s publisher to promote her book and her book tour. They meet and hit it off, which is a good thing considering he’s going with her on her European Book Tour. Rome, Paris, and London are shown through her eyes, and she revisits a few of her favorite places from when she was a travel blogger.

Peyton and Mitch hold back a part of themselves due to their emotional histories. Mitch had dealt with his dad’s death from cancer when he was a teen and is still giving support to his mom and younger sister. Peyton’s story hits too close to home for him.

Peyton is still trying to recapture her friendship with Claire, one of her childhood best friends and her brother’s fiance. Peyton and Mitch struggle to move forward with their relationship.

The story has a nice pacing. The darkness of Peyton’s illness was sometimes overwhelming and difficult to get through. The story is filled with medical issues, secrets, and well-developed romance.The book wraps up nicely and will leave the reader satisfied.

Ms. Beck is an author whose books I’ve enjoyed, particularly in this series. I look forward to reading more of her work.

What will you do when you are faced with your own mortality and then given a new lease on life? Peyton Prescott, the romantic heroine of “The Wonder of Now” wrote a book relating her fight against breast cancer.

It was her brother Logan’s idea. A photographer by trade and profession, Logan was Peyton’s rock from the time she was diagnosed till she was pronounced cancer free a year ago. It took Peyton a year to write the memoir and now, it was being released as major work for a debut author.

Enter PR guru Mitch Mathis whose job is to make sure that the book goes into the New York Times Bestsellers list and create enough buzz to achieve that. First step, a European book tour before the glitterati-filled US launch.

Easy peasy, right?

Well… it would have been except that from the moment they laid eyes on each other, a mutual attraction simmered between Peyton and Mitch. For professional reasons, Mitch could not; for health and psychological reasons, Peyton could not either.

But, both Peyton and Mitch are adults and it was going to be very easy for them to add the word “consenting” before “adult.”

“The Wonder of Now” is not just a love story. It is also a woman’s fight to recover her self esteem after undergoing chemo and mastectomy. Still, the way Peyton was written, she was not a victim, she was a survivor.

But, Peyton is not a romantic heroine either. In fact, from the beginning to the end of the book, I had a hard time liking Peyton. I could see her struggles. Someone very close to me died from breast cancer and I was at the front seat to see it happen.

Peyton was written a diva before her cancer diagnosis. She was selfish and self-centered. Though cancer made her see things from a different perspective, the old Peyton kept on rearing her ugly head throughout the story.

And that is the genius of the storytelling for “The Wonder of Now.” It would have been easy to make Peyton a tragic character to be pitied. Thankfully, Jaime Beck is a master of her craft that as readers we see Peyton in 360 degrees. Cancer did not define Peyton. Jaime Beck wrote her to be three-dimensional.

Mitch was given the same treatment. He has baggage of his own; yet instead of being a victim, we see Mitch as a true romantic hero who would fight for the people he loves.

A great book to read and a very good listen on audiobook. Narrated by Dara Rosenberg, the female voice, i.e. Peyton was very good. And though I enjoyed listening to the book very much, I would have preferred if it was a dual narration. There was enough POV from Mitch to warrant it. Sometimes, I got lost who was speaking and had to rewind to figure out who was speaking.

“The Wonder of Now” is Rated T for Teens. Parental guidance strongly advised due to the discussion about cancer and its treatment. There are some sex scenes but they are not graphic.

What a wonderful conclusion to this series about three friends with this, Peyton’s story. Her reputation was a little murky when the reader is first introduced to her. However, in this book we learn more about her as she battles cancer, which no one deserves. There is more to Peyton as she is redeemed in her book.

It’s heartwarming story with heartbreaking moments. Peyton’s journey as it continues pull at your heartstrings as it takes you through an emotional ride. It’s well written story.

A perfect story for Peyton Prescott. Peyton has been on a journey with her health and everything that was involved which ultimately led her and Logan to writing her book. I feel like I’ve been there with her on her journey through the ups and downs and the laughter and tears. I was happy to see Peyton slowly coming back into her own and I was really glad that Mitch came into the picture and ultimately was what Peyton truly needed. I loved reading about all the fun places that were mentioned during the European book tour and watching the two of them become a team during this time. This book was great from beginning to end but I truly loved the epilogue. It truly brought things back to where they belonged for three amazing ladies, who’ve gone through their own personal demons but have come out better and stronger for it. My favorite line in this book was, ‘We all have our flaws. That’s what makes us human, right? Truly a great story.

The Wonder of Now is the third book in this trilogy, I didn’t know that when I read it - it can be read as a stand-alone however there are some story crossovers. Due to the complex characters whose relationships don’t seem simple I would like to have read book one and two first. Something which I will do.
Peyton the main character has wrote a book about how she overcome breast cancer and the emotions and issues that carries.

During her battle her brother Logan photographs her entire life and is now open to all in a book.

Her publicist is Mitch, who seems to be a little off hand with her and cool. They seem to have challenging moments until the sexual tension develops. As they travel from city to city promoting the book Mitch and Peyton’s characters are peeled back and feelings past and present are opened up to each other.

I recommend The Wonder of you, Jamie Becks descriptive writing allows us the reader to feel empathy for the traumatic journey a cancer patient experiences and yet at the same time we are left feeling happy that Peyton experiences her love of travel again as we live this through her eyes, the authors descriptions of food and wine and city life are lovely.

A tough topic, but handled well with honesty and the novel expresses the importance of friends and family, forgiveness and the struggles of recovery.

I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest review.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get beyond 25% of this story. Not because of the writing which I found really well done and that was, ultimately the problem. Having just finished up my own breast cancer journey 4 months ago, I thought I would be able to read this because I could relate. I related too much though.

I can say that Ms. Beck nailed the feelings, emotions, and weight of dealing with cancer very well.

I hope to take another shot at this in a few months.

After reading Claire and Logan's story, I was not sure how much I would like a book with Peyton as she really betrayed her best friend when she started dating Claire's ex, Todd. I'm not sure it was revealed in the earlier book but Todd broke up with Claire and then used their attraction to sway Peyton so they began a relationship.

Now, I still had that resentment from Claire's book and it was hard for me to overlook the pain that Peyton caused her friend and just her lack of loyalty was disappointing. But, I think they she really matured during her battle with cancer and as she stated in her book, she was not the same person as she used to be pre-cancer.

When they finally admitted they were attracted to each other, Peyton wanted to move slowly and that was hard to keep me involved in their relationship. Things did get more interesting towards the end when several big things hit Peyton and she was trying to be unselfish this time in her life.

I am glad to say that I did enjoy how the three - Claire, Steffi, and Peyton wrapped up their friendship at the end and overcame the past hurts. I also was glad that Mitch finally stood up to his mother and sister and told them to stop with the bickering. That situation right there could kill a relationship! Glad there was good news and a nice HEA!

The Wonder of New by Jamie Beck drew me in from the first page and held my interest until the last page.
The writing is beautifully done, the plot well paced and the storyline brought out all the feels.
I loved watching Peyton and Mitch come together, they had a strong connection and I found them to be perfect for each other.

Overall, The Wonder of New is a beautiful addition to the Sanctuary Sound Series and I highly recommend it.

I have enjoyed this series and especially when I learned that Peyton had to deal with breast cancer as I am a survivor myself. We had different experiences going through treatment so sometimes I could relate to her and other times I couldn't. While the treatment phase was more in book 2, there are still references to what she endured. She was also reliving it while on tour promoting her memoir about her experience and sharing raw thought and photos of that time.

Peyton is a character that learns a lot over a short period of time. It is amazing how a cancer diagnosis will do that to someone...anyone really. But I think it helps humanize her and bring her down from the lofty perch that she seemed to have climbed onto before the cancer diagnosis.

Mitch has had a rough life taking care of his mother and sister after his father passed away. This is both a good and bad thing because his mother has become too dependent on him for everything, his sister is flighty, and he works too hard. However, a book tour in Europe might just change his perspective on life.

I enjoyed this book and the interactions between all of the characters. I wasn't wild about Mitch's mother and how dependent she was on him and acted so helpless. His sister wasn't much better but she was allowed to do as she pleased for too long without being held accountable. The relationship between Peyton and Mitch was a growing experience for both of them. They both have so much to give but fear holds them back. You could say this book tour did wonders for their fear, or at least move them further down the path.

Obviously Peyton is much more than just an author, she was dealt a hard hand in life, battling stage 4 cancer, basically with just her brother for the ride and then was able to write a book about it. I can’t even think how hard that must be, to relive that chapter of your life and have people all over the world to read it? Not me, lol.

Mitch is very goal oriented, so he’s very focused in his job, even though it doesn’t sit well with Peyton, who’s overwhelmed by this entire experience.

As they spend more time together, feelings start to change and surface, and little by little they start understand each other. And isn’t what this is all about? Understanding the other, without judgement?

This was a very lovely read, one that stays with you long after finishing it. Very much like Ms. Beck’s other books.

This is the third story in the Sanctuary Sound series and while it can stand alone, you really should read at least the second story in the series to get an appreciation for who Peyton is and what she has been through before this book starts. There is some cursing (including a few f-bombs) and some sex, but neither thing overwhelm the story – this is a plot-driven book.

Having read the first two books of this series, I was really looking forward to reading Peyton's book but I was also really apprehensive. Going by what we learned in the previous books, Peyton doesn't seem like the kind of character most people would consider heroine material, but the more we got to know her, the more I wanted to know what made her tick and how she reconciled her past and her present. Ms. Beck definitely didn't disappoint. In this book we learned that Peyton was an incredibly strong yet fragile woman, and she was as complex as I was hoping that she would be from start to finish. I loved that she lived for the day, even when she was terrified about what the future would bring, and the way that she brought the more relaxed side of Mitch out. Without spoiling anything, I also liked the way that Peyton and Claire's relationship evolved in this book. (It's hard to leave it at that, but anything else would be a major spoilers.)

One thing I didn't expect, but really should have, was just how difficult it would be reading about Peyton's inner thoughts and fears about her cancer fight and the fears that it would return. I'm currently a caregiver for my father while he is in his own horrendous cancer fight, and this book really hit home for me. (It also made me really want to kick Logan in the teeth even more than I did during his story. I was hoping that he might have grown up a little since his book, but no. He's still as manipulative and self-absorbed as ever.) If you've ever fought this battle or supported someone who has, this book is not easy to read, but it is really worth the pain.

This is, hands down, my favorite book of this series.

The Wonder of Now will cover Peyton journey as she goes on tour on her memoir. It is document her journey of discovering and experiencing beast cancer. All of her thoughts will be on displayed that you will truly understand her long journey.
Some people might disagree with me but I truly do not like Peyton at all. Her character is so lacking , I just cannot. I condemn her for recovering from beast cancer and talking about the illness since it is serious. But I do not like her as a person. She is just too selfish that I could not connect to her whatsoever. Like how can you take your best friend boyfriend knowing that it will hurt them deeply. And then get mad that she won't forgive you. Like no, deal with the consequences. You knew what you were doing and you did not care at all. Like I cannot deal with that as character at all. And she does not change. She is still acting the same, acting careless and selfish especially when she is on her tour with Mitch.
Oh, Mitch. I truly do like him. He may seem serious but he fought for his career that he is determined to stay on track. Nothing is wrong with that. It took him where he is now. Peyton needs to realize that.
I just do not like their relationship at all cause I feel like Mitch can do better. But that is my opinion.
If you are willing to turn over a blind on Peyton character, then you can enjoy their romance. But I just cannot get over her selfish ways.

Though this is the third book in a series, it is easily read as a stand-alone. There are references to certain things that I assumed were covered in earlier books, but I felt comfortable with jumping right into the story.

The Wonder of Now is a breast cancer survivor book. Peyton’s brother Logan has helped her through her cancer journey by taking pictures while Peyton recorded a type of journal. Their book is published, and they are hoping it will help others who are experiencing the same thing.

But now it’s time for the publicity tour. Logan isn’t able to go, so Peyton is scheduled to tour Europe with her publicist, Mitch. But as they tour it is immediately evident that Peyton is ready to relax and relieve some of the experiences she had as a travel writer. But Mitch, who is needing this tour to be successful for his own business, is cautious of letting his guard down with Peyton or varying from his marketing plan.

Peyton struggles on the tour with having to relieve certain unpleasant experiences regarding her cancer journey. While she feels her past is quite private, there is also a need to help others by being open and sharing. In time Mitch and Peyton allow each other’s strengths to begin to permeate their shell.

The tour and their growing relationship begin to challenge everything Mitch and Peyton believe about themselves.

The story is touching and real. Peyton needs to trust that she is loved just the way she is, scars and all. Mitch needs to take a step back and smell the roses.

Peyton’s life is further complicated by how she treated her best friend (in an earlier book). The book is layered with issues that need to be solved but handled in a very believable way.

As with any series, I would suggest starting with the first book. But, again, this was probably one of the easiest to pick up mid-series and feel comfortable with.

What Concerned Me:
Call me a fuddy-duddy, but I’m not a fan of sex scenes. To me, those are better left to the imagination. As I remember there was only one in this book, and it was handled well, but that’s my opinion.

What I Liked Most:
This is a tough topic, but the story is handled tastefully and realistically. The characters are memorable and the story easily kept me turning pages.
