I received an ARC copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This has no impact on my review/thoughts.

Kozart is a standalone rocker romance by J. Nathan. This was definitely a pleasant surprise because it's my first time reading a novel by J. Nathan! I love me some rock star romance and Kozart definitely captivated my attention from the beginning. It was a page-turner and I didn't want to put it down. However, I do have to say at some point there were filler and just about their date-to-date life which wasn't that necessary. Nonetheless, I do love Aubrey as a character and Kozart is just the sweetest man! Though I have to say.... I'm not sure about the "Z Savage" name going there. This has a HEA with no cliffhanger!

Thank you again to Weapenry Co-Op and NetGalley to have generously giving me this eARC in exchange of my honest opinion!

I liked Aubrey the girl was entertaining you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth, “I did ?” Laughter burst out of me. “Even when I’m drunk I’m awesome.” Kozart is just a smart***, “well, right now, I’m liking having you pinned between me and this window.” Kozart isn't one to share, “I’m thinking you won’t be needing that profile anymore. Unless you wanna see me kick the *** of any guy trying to get near my girl.” I liked this book, I loved Kozart.

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed Kozart and Aubrey's story. It was such a good mix of humor and heartache. Especially Kozart and his past. His character progression was great. I just had a problem with the plot point that caused the angst. It seemed pretty unrealistic and weak to me. Music fans don't really care if the musicians are in a relationship. I'm just glad he finally came to his senses and realized he is allowed to live his own life.

I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. Aubrey is having a terrible day after finding her boyfriend cheating at her sister’s wedding when she meets Kozart. Unbeknownst to her he’s at the hotel bar unwinding from a concert, and he’s the lead singer. Their flirty banter seems to give him peace and clarity. While she was initially unaware she soon finds out about his superstar status but is more impressed by him as a man than his career. While they both face some bumps along the road, she has trust issues and he’s lacking support from his friends, their affection and friendship cannot be derailed. This is a nice sweet romance with lots of humorous side notes. 5 stars

5+ Rock Stars!

A must read! From the start, you will love Kozart. He's written brilliantly. Yes he's a rock god, but you truly get the sense from the entire story that there is more to this man and a great big huge heart underneath the bad boy persona.

When Z meets Aubrey when she's down and out, he soon finds charmed by the quick witted speech pathologist senior. This story just flowed greatly with Z and Aubrey meeting, connecting and going separate ways. I found the entire story fun and entertaining. The highs and lows of fame come to life in this story while highlighting a sad past.

Trust is a big theme throughout and Z makes you want to go there with him, no matter what.

Great read.

This for me is the perfect example of a 3* read.
It’s a nice easy, enjoyable book. It has likeable characters and a feel good ending.

While as a rule I’m not a fan or rock star or sports star romances. The blurb for this intrigued me.

Like I said it’s a nice easy read. I never felt I’d really got to know either of the characters, especially Aubrey.
At times when Kozart opened up about his past I truly felt for him.

“Why not?” He shrugged. “It’s mine. And I don’t have to share it unless I want to.”

My heart splintered. He’d never had anything of his own. This was his, and no one could take it away from him. “Thanks for sharing it with me.” He said nothing.

Aubrey on the other hand was all over the place. I never really got a lock on her.

As a result I wasn’t fully committed to them and their relationship.

So while it’s a pleasant read it’s not a book that will stay with me or one that I’ll ever re-read.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I couldn't put it down. Kept me very engaged and it tied up all the loose ends quite nicely.

I love a good rock star romance and Kozart was that and so much more! As from the very first page I was hooked into these two characters. Especially the lonely, angsty, rocker and the sarcastic girl who happened to bump into him at her sister's wedding after finding her boyfriend getting it on with another bridesmaid was perfect for him. And I loved the pair together and the way their story played out.

Plus, the mix of great characters, angst, humour, sweetness, emotion and heat was perfect. As were the struggles and conflicts Kozart and Aubrey overcame to get their happy ever after.

And quite honestly, I devoured this story. As it was such a fantastic, enjoyable and engaging read. Which is why I would definitely recommend it to others.

I really enjoyed Kozart. I’m usually not a fan of insta love which this kind of felt like but it worked for the story. I enjoyed the progression of Z and Aubrey’s relationship. I do wish there was more interaction with the band and her friends but other than that no complaints. It was an enjoyable, solid read.

**4.5 Stars**

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Kozart is a rock star who meets college student Aubrey after she was recently cheated on. Neither one was looking for the other or anything serious, but sometimes fate has other plans.

Kozart and Aubrey started off as more of friends and then slowly built their relationship into more. I think they had good chemistry and really liked them both as characters.

I think the drama portion of the book was pretty predictable, but I still found the overall book very enjoyable and I am so happy I have found a new author to read. I look forward to reading more of this author's work.

College student and a rock star!

College student Aubrey Prescott was having a crappy day trying to hide from her family in the bar after catching her boyfriend sleeping with one of the other bridesmaids at her sister’s wedding. Kozart Savage was tired at the party his band, Savage Beasts was throwing so he snuck out to the hotel bar to get away from the groupies. Kozart decided to help Aubrey show her ex-boyfriend that she didn’t need him by dancing with a stranger. Aubrey didn’t know who Kozart was because she listened to country music until her sister told her the next day.

Aubrey just wanted to get over her now ex-boyfriend and get on with her life and graduate from college and then get her graduate degree and Kozart enjoyed being around Aubrey because she was just a normal college student than the girls that hung around the band.

Many readers will enjoy Kozart by J. Nathan because they want to be the person taming the rock star.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved this broken, teddy bear of a man! Kozart - both the book and the character - kept surprising me until the very end. I’ve read a lot of rock star romances, and while this had some of the typical storylines, it was so refreshing and real that it was hard to put down. The story follows Kozart, a rock star who has started to realize that fame isn’t all it’s cut out to be. He has trouble sleeping, and often uses sex to try to send him into exhaustion, but his old habits are not working anymore and he’s worried something needs to change. When he meets Aubrey, she has just found her boyfriend cheating on her at her sister’s wedding. The two strike up a conversation, and Kozart finds it so refreshing that Aubrey, a country music fan, has no idea who he is. They spend the evening together, and Aubrey thinks that’s the last she will hear from Kozart, but he surprises her by contacting her again. The two strike up a friendship of sorts, exploring what it would mean to be more, and both have to determine if they can find enough trust in each other to make a relationship work.

This book is romantic, light, fun, frustrating, angsty, sweet... it takes you through so many emotions, but you’re always feeling SOMETHING. It’s dialogue-based and the banter is awesome, making it easy to see the connection between the two. Kozart is hands down my favorite part of the book - he has not had an easy life, and it takes a lot for him to learn to trust someone, trust himself to have a relationship when temptation is everywhere around him. He’s open and honest with Aubrey about his limitations, and he grows so much throughout the book that’s it’s impossible not to love him. The opening chapters of the book show just how different their lives have been prior to meeting, and they have to find a way to bridge their two worlds. I am so glad that NetGalley offered me an ARC in exchange for an honest review - I’m not sure I would’ve discovered this great author otherwise. I will definitely be checking out more of J. Nathan’s books in the future.

ARC received for review

A great friends to lovers story. Kozart had a sh!t childhood and Aubrey had a sh!t night. As their friendship develops so does their love. Of course, there has to be rock star drama thrown in, but love conquers all in the end. I wonder if the author has any plans for the rest of the group or for her friends to get HEAs.

Kozart was my first book by this author. I LOVE the rockstar genre, so I was super excited to start this one.
I loved Kozart- he was so sweet to Aubrey and the playlists were AMAZING! Aubrey was a quirky character, but I fell in love with her too!
I can't wait to read more by this new-to=me author!!

I kept looking over this book and debating on requesting it because so many rock star romances are the same. However, something kept telling me to give this one a shot and I am so glad i did. This is not your typical rock star romance. Kozart is honest and yes he kind of made a small mistake but nothing I couldn't forgive him for. He also knew when he screwed up and fought for what he wanted. Aubrey was real. She was sassy, honest, and self conscious without being needy or annoying. I loved how Aubrey put Kozart in his place and didn't treat him like a rock God. Overall, this was a great romance rock star book and I will definitely be checking out more books from this author.

Very good new adult rockstar romance

I completely enjoyed this romance between jaded rockstar Kozart “Z” Savage and college student Aubrey who meet in the bar at a hotel after Kozart starts getting sick of the rock ‘n’ roll party, sex with groupie lifestyle and Aubrey finds her boyfriend cheating on her at her sisters wedding with another bridesmaid.

Aubrey is a bit drunk and is a Country music fan so she has no idea who she is talking to, and Kozart likes that, he also feels like standing up for her so he takes her back to the wedding so she can show everyone she is not defeated. From there they start texting and learning more about each other. I like the fact that the relationship develops before they actually have sex. Also Kozart has some issues from his childhood in foster care and Aubrey helps with those.

They deal with issues about him being famous and paparazzi and not wanting it to get out that they are dating as well as issues of him being on tour an possibly seeing other people. It is very well done and I ended up really liking both characters.

Rock star romances aren't always my favorite, but I knew I had to read Kozart for a couple of reasons. One, I love J. Nathan's writing and new adult romances. Two, there was something about Aubrey meeting Kozart in a hotel bar after finding her boyfriend cheating on her that caught my interest. I think it was partly that she didn't know who he was. The entire scenario sounded fun. It was, too.

Aubrey and Kozart had a fun chemistry. I loved how they met and the instant connection they had. Things moved a little slowly between them at first and they way their relationship progressed was perfect. They truly got to know each other. I loved the secrets they shared and the excitement of their romance. It didn't feel like the typical rock star romance other than the very start. It was a sweeter story.

The only thing I could possibly complain about was that the plot twist was slightly predictable. That didn't bother me, though. I liked being able to figure things out ahead of time because it took some of the angst out of the situation for me. It was had just enough angst to feel believable, but also left me feeling happy.

That's what this book really did. It made me incredibly happy. I loved every minute of reading Kozart. It's definitely one of my favorite rock star romances now.

Oh my gosh, I loved this novel! This was the first novel I have read by this author but it certainly won't be the last. This novel was so good! From the very first page, I was hooked and could not stop reading. I loved the main characters, Aubrey was awesome. I loved her personality. The dialogue was laugh out loud funny. Kozart was the best. I loved him even when he screwed up. The dialogue and banter were outstanding. I love when a novel can make you laugh out loud, almost bring you to tears and leave me with a smile on my face and my heart happy. This novel did all of this for me I loved it.

This is Aubrey and Kozart‘s book, Aubrey has just discovered that her boyfriend is cheating on her, at her sisters wedding! Trying to escape the humiliation she seeks refuge in the hotel bar. While she is wallowing laying on the bar top some sexy stranger comes up and bothers her! She wonders don’t all people know to leave a depressed drunks laying on the bar LOL Kozart is one of the worlds biggest rockstar, he has it all money , fame , and basically any woman he wants! He thought that was enough to make him forget his past. Then he meets a bridesmaid hiding out at the hotel bar, this quirky girl laying on the bar top with pretzels in her hair intrigues him. She’s probably the only girl on the planet it doesn’t know who it is?! This book was definitely worth reading! It was funny and definitely had some steam to it and just an all-around really good book! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

I had a huge difficulty getting into this book because the writing in the first two chapters is atrocious but thankfully after that, the story gets much, much better and I ended up really enjoying it.
The two main characters were an absolute surprise for me in how much time the author must have put into them. I found them really complex (for a romance novel). They weren't just two pretty people that found themselves together, they had a meet-cute but after that, they had to work at continuing to talk and know each other. I liked that the writer didn't make it seem like they were predestined and kept the this is the"biggest of the love stories" talk to a bare minimum.
Aubrey is funny, sassy and has more of a brain than the usual heroine. She has a past that influenced her, a very sensible mindset, she enjoys partying, drinking and hanging out with her friends, which I found really refreshing from all the other girls in romance novels that just like to read or do something else that translates into being "well-behaved".
Kozart is also nicely written, with his past being a big part of who he is. What I liked most about him was his honesty and his refusal to promise Aubrey anything that he knew might not work.
The couple's interactions do not feel forced at all, with each calling the other on their flaws and being supportive and in love with one another.
It reminded me a bit of Abbi Glines's books with all the white pretty people and of Katy Evans's "Real" with the hero with a dark past and all the playlists.
Thank you to NetGalley and J. Nathan for this ARC, I 'll definitely check out some of her other books now.
