Lisa is a very fabulous writer ! I felt like I was following her when I was reading A Month of Summer. Her detail were great and the character fit well and I didn't get lost in the story. Beautiful story about about a daughter who get a call from the Dallas police. Her father who has been found a number of times wandering the streets also his wife has landed in a nursing home because she suffers from a serious illness. The daughter Rebecca who share with her husband a law practice she has to put aside her old resentments and go back to her childhood house. When Rebecca stepmother hears she has returned home because she has stay away for so many years she know something is wrong . But forgiving a relationship with Rebecca it has a lot of old ghost in it to work on before moving on. But this has where two women work out a betrayals of the past and can this moving story of separation of forgiveness of Hanna Beth the stepmother and Rebecca do the work to move on and examine with all there hearts and discover what they have to find out to forgive each other. Will they find what the true meaning of a family really is ?
Lisa put a lot of twist and turns in this book. She put a lot feeling in with story and you go feel it tug your heart. This is not the first book by this author and will not be the last. I recommend this book.

When Rebecca receives a phone call from the police to say that her father is wandering the streets in a confused state and her step mother is in hospital having had a stroke she knows that the time has finally come for her to go home. Leaving her husband's and daughter she goes to sort out the family that she hadn't seen she left as a child with her mother when her father moved in another woman, Hannah Beth with her mentally disabled son Teddy. When she arrives things are worse than she expected, her father has dementia and thinks she is her mother, Teddy is running wild out on the streets and the live in home help has left, maybe it won't be quite the quick fix she was expecting!

A lovely story of how Rebecca finally finds the family that she has refused to acknowledge for years and also finds that some of the things that her mother told her might not be true. As family secrets are uncovered Rebecca's eyes are finally opened which could also help her with her own family difficulties and the unconditional love of Teddy can only make life better!

As usual, a very inspirational book by an author who knows how to put the reader into her characters, make their actions identifiable with her readers. I love the entire Blue Sky Hill series of books. These are books that you may start out borrowing, but by the time you finish, you want your own copy to refer to the wisdom within the pages.

This is a wonderful story of a grown daughter returning to her hometown to care for her father, step-brother and step-mother. Rebecca receives word that her Step-mother, Hannah Beth is in a rehabilitation home after she suffered a stroke. Her Father has Alzheimer's and her stepbrother is educationally challenged. The social worker has discovered they are incapable of taking care of themselves and tells Rebecca to come ASAP. As she works to fix all that is broken she discovers several secrets and truths about herself, her marriage and her family. A good story that is probably too true for comfort. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book was a remarkable journey for me. It reminded me to take nothing for granted and to give unconditional love to those around me. Rebecca’s life was so busy, she tended to wear blinders regarding her family. I have been in her shoes. Life passes in the blink of an eye. This truly was a beautiful book.
Many thanks to Quercia Books and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

One of the things I've come to love from Lisa Wingate's novels is how real to life the characters and settings feel. A Month of Summer is no different from her other novels that I've read - almost from the first page I felt like I was reading a book about someone's real life and not a novel.

I have to say my favorite character is a tie between Claude and Teddy. I have a dear friend whose son has downs and while it's never spelled out what exactly Teddy has his mannerisms and heart reminded me of him. If you don't fall in love with Teddy I don't know if you're human!

Overall I really loved this book and how quickly paced it was. It was a bit predictable but it didn't hurt the story. However, what did hurt the story was the extremely rushed ending. It was like the author needed to get the book off and quickly summed everything up in a flash. It's better than an unfinished ending but it does end rather abruptly.

While I was awarded this novel via NetGalley for my unbiased opinion it was archived the next day so I had to purchase this novel to read it.

Enjoyed this book very much and look forward to the next one! Rebecca was so relatable and I was drawn to her immediately. As a mom myself I love reading about other true to life characters that struggle and fall in their career, marriage and motherhood but always succeed somehow. Highly recommend this book!

A month of Summer is a great beach read. The characters will draw you into their lifes and you'll grow to know them. Lots of drama. You'll want to cry with them and pray everything turns out right. Communication is the key to this story.

I think the title and the cover does not do the book justice.
Although I read the blurb, I did not expect such a heart warming story, the subject matter was something that a lot of people can associate with so therefore in some places it just touched lightly on the problems families face, needed more hard facts, more life challenging issues, but all in all a really amazing read, hope there is a follow up of the character's in a squeal.
Lisa Wingate think about it,would make your readers really, really appreciate it.....

This was a heartwarming, easy read. It was very predictable and would make a great palate cleanser type of book. This was on the lighter side, for such a heavy topic. While it was an enjoyable read, it was too “fluffy” and I would have preferred a little grit. This is a great choice for those looking for a lighter, predictable, happy ending type of story. Thank you to the publisher for the free review copy in exchange for my honest review.

If you’re looking for a emotional and gripping novel with great characters, pick this one up!

For Rebecca Macklin, an ordinary summer brings about an extraordinary change of heart when she discovers that her aging father has been wandering the Dallas streets alone, and his wife, Hanna Beth, has landed in a nursing home. Now Rebecca must put aside old resentments and return to her childhood home.

The plot is character driven and they’re very developed. You can follow Rebecca and Hannah Beth in their minds and understand what they’re thinking.

I would recommend this to people who likes comtemporary fiction with emotional content.

It's the first book I read by this author and it won't surely be the last.
It's a heart wrenching/heartwarming book, engrossing and entertaining.
I liked the well written and fleshed out characters, realistic and interesting, the setting and the well developed plot that keeps you hooked till the end.

Lisa Wingate has a talent for telling a story. This one did not disappoint me. The characters and what they deal with are so true to life. My heart was breaking and celebrating with them. The story line is great and one some of you might see some of yourself in. There are trials to be dealt with and joys to be celebrated. I love these folks. Teddy may be my favorite. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.
