Albert Tanner is one scary dude. A psychopath with burning proclivities, he has some unfinished business and no one is going to get in his way.

Patterson, Clocks and their crew work hard, and incidentally, against direct orders, to learn his connection is to a slew of child deaths. This one is gritty and raw and page-turning.

#4 in a series, I sometimes felt a little outside of the loop but it worked just fine as a stand-alone!

Very disappointed. Normally love these books and have read them all but this one left me feeling let down

DS Ray Patterson, along with DI Johnny Clocks, Inspector Lyndsey Mullins and Wallace Young, former Commissioner of Police have landed at the New York City airport, planning to meet a couple of FBI agents. Their job is to track down Albert Tanner. He is a dangerous, savage psychopath who likes to play with fire.

Much to their distress, they learn that Tanner is somehow connect to a recent series of child deaths.

Paterson and his team feel they are being suffocated and prevented from going after Tanner themselves. But when a tragedy happens to an FBI agent, they decide to ignore the rules of the FBI and go it alone.

There are explosions, murder, high class men's parties where all the attendees are not men ..and are not adults.

This is a well written crime thriller with lots of action beginning with the very first page. The suspense maintains a solid pace until the very end. There is a slight cliffhanger involved, just enough to whet the reader's appetite for more.

The characters are finely drawn and I really like seeing how they all relate to each other. Paterson is the quiet, somber leader of the group of detectives. Clocks is the humor ..an adult going on 12. There's the language barrier, which Clocks uses to his advantage and drives the American agents crazy ... and thank goodness for the explanations of those words or expressions.

Wow. Shocking and dark. Twisty and intense. Crime novel plus thriller makes for an amazing read. You Can’t Hide is a great book. Highly recommend it. Sleep with the lights on, If you can even sleep at all.

This is my first time reading a book by Steve Parker. This fast paced, heart racing, suspense filled, mystery crime thriller will have you quickly flipping the pages.It is full of twists and turns. Beware this is book 4 in a series, and would be best read in order. Fortunately i belong to Kindle Unlimited and will be able to read the other books in this series. I do Recommended reading this book as long as you can handle blood and violence. The first page in the book was very boreing and almost had me not reading the book. But I'm glad i did. If you would like to read this series you can find it on Amazon.As always if you like the book you read please take the time to leave a review for the author in places like goodreads & Amazon. I'm really glad I didn't pay for this book (NetGalley), because there is absolutely nothing positive to be had here. Stupid British police go after a very sadistic pervert in a speculation of violence. Total nonsense, including simple facts like what RFIDs are.

Paterson and Clocks are back so settle down and be ready for an adrenaline pumping read.

This is book 4 and although the books work as stand-alone you will enjoy it more if you read them in sequence. Unique characters and engaging story lines with twists and turns all the way through make for an intense page turner that I highly recommend for readers who like dark thrillers.

Paterson is a wealthy upper class Detective Superintendent who rose through the ranks via a fast track system. Clocks in contrast is a working class Londoner who has made detective by climbing the ranks as a result of hard work. In book one the two clashed each resenting the other Clocks thought Paterson a 'posh git' and Paterson thought Clocks uncouth and tactless. They have developed their relationship from resenting each other to a very effective working partnership each having the other's back 100%.

The story begins as they board a plane to New York chasing Albert Tanner following a turf war in book 3. Clocks had me laughing before he had got off the plane. They arrive at JFK airport and the action starts with a chase followed by explosions. It is game on and everyone is in danger.

Will they catch Tanner or lose their lives? You will have to read the book to find out. What I can tell you is that this is an absolutely gripping read that I couldn't put down and I doubt you will be able to either.

Detective superintendent Ray Paterson and his sidekick Detective inspector Johnny (Timex) Clocks the new Reagan and Carter let loose in America. A great story with them working with the FBI who were totally flummoxed by their unorthodox form of policing and their use of London talk. Fantastic story!

Loved this book love love love Johnny Clocks a great story loads of action loads of twists and turns I cannot recommend this highly enough

Cheeky Cockney Johnny Clocks turns up at JFK with a psychopath to find. He already sounds like a nasty piece of work, mean to kids – and it gets worse – so although Clocks originally intends to do things the right way, all above board, things get tangled and he ends up doing it his own way.

Now bearing in mind, I haven’t read any of the other stories in the series, so perhaps that was a mistake on my part, but when I first started reading I wasn’t sure if it was a parody-thriller book. The scene setting is a little mundane, with Clocks’ trip through JFK Arrivals meticulously detailed including the ‘hell of luggage claim’ as if it were something much more interesting and as if this guy hadn’t seen things which were much more hellish, then almost a page of description on the female co-villain’s attractive-but-not-that-attractive appearance leaving me with the image of a young woman in mom-jeans in my mind, but you know what, after all this was out of the way, I really got into the story and decided it wasn’t meant to be a piss-take. It’s a bloke book – written by a bloke and that in itself has real charm. Looking back at the parts which wrangled me, I thought nah – that works, this guy can stand over bleeding bodies and still consider the business of ‘a nightmare’ he’s that sort of blokey guy who uses the same words to describe the M25.
So in the end, I really enjoyed the read – a fast paced thriller which you can finish in a trip from Gatwick to JFK.

Paterson and Clocks go to the USA on the hunt for one-eyed Albert Tanner. Will the FBI ever recover. While struggling to understand what John Clocks is saying, they also have to try and keep up with them on the hunt. Who will win, this time?

As good as the previous books in the series, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
