I had mix emotions after reading this book. Some parts were nice and made the story unique, but then there was aspects of the book such as the main hero who were just too much for me. Therefore, for mix feelings, I am giving this book 3.5 stars.

I absolutely adored this book from the first page, and loved it more the further in I got! If you love Fantasy, Dystopian Romances with unique storylines and revelations throughout, along with some steamy sex scenes, then this is the perfect book for you!
At the start I wondered where the story would go, the Blurb was intriguing and sounded just that bit different to anything else I have encountered in the genres this book had been placed.
The opening scenes are far from slow, in fact they are fast paced with some serious bite, with opening scenes that grab hold of the reader instantly and so surprisingly, that you constantly need one more page!
I loved each of the individual Characters, even the ones I also loathed with a passion. I loved their individuality, their uniqueness, and the fact that they are all perfectly imperfect. The Guy we root for is far from perfect, he’s sweet and endearing, but tough and willing to stand up for things, yet he also doesn’t always get it right.
I love the fact that whilst there is the element of destined love going on, it is neither easy nor simple. In fact, both are trying to understand their feelings in different ways, although I don’t want to say too much more for fear of giving away some of the storyline!
I love the fact that we gradually see bits of the past, each an intriguing revelation into what has brought the characters to where they are, and why they respond in the ways that they do. Each scene is new and adds new depth to the characters we are reading about, a wider understanding of their past experiences and all that has made them who they are now. I feel like all three have their reasons for acting in the ways they do, whether that is because they feel entitled and became dangerously obsessive for that, or whether they feel guilty and want to atone in some way.
There is so much going on with this story, and it was full of action and suspense that easily grip and make you both wonder and dread what will happen next. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book, what else we learn about the past, and where the story takes each of them later!
There are elements I am excited to see continued, whether because I love the character or know there is more suspense and surprising story twists to come, and those I am nervous about, because I have come to enjoy the thrills and the heartwarming equally, and I feel like this is an author I will have to watch closely! If this book is anything to go by, I seriously doubt that this will be smooth sailing for our main characters from here!
The ending has certainly left me needing more, and I will be eagerly awaiting book 2! Pick this up! But perhaps, give yourself a couple of days to immerse yourself in it. You won’t want to put this down!

I am conflicted about this book. It has an interesting premise and I am a fan of Time slip, but the characters especially Sam are a bit disturbing.

The story is about a love triangle between Helle, Jason and Sam, who have a past, a literal past as in 2000 years in the past, their triangle did not end well. Helle goes to work for Sam and at first all is well, but then Sam becomes very aggressive towards her, both sexually and emotionally. Jason has been waiting for her over the centuries and comes to find her and try to save her yet again, The story was interesting but the characters were a bit off. I found myself getting upset with Helle for the way she let Sam treat her. I also did not realize that this is first in a series book so the ending is a cliffhanger. Not my favorite time-slip but the author writes a decent story and she did make me feel. That is always a sign of a good author one that makes you feel the emotions whether good or bad,

I'm confused. People really like this book. It has everything you could want in a book:romance, suspense, time slipping, adventure. But...I didn't like this book at all. The characters seemed flat and one dimensional. And the hero acted like a jerk. He would be mean to her, then realize his mistake and run back to her. Did he learn nothing after doing this over and over again through the centuries? All of the characters just annoyed me.

An interesting read, this is a love triangle with a twist, it’s full of angst, drama and great characters. Such a good read I want to read the next in the series to see where the characters go from here. Entertaining, fast paced, great writing, one to watch.

A Torch in His Heart by Anna Belfrage is a time slip story of Jason, Helle and Sam. The two men have been searching for Helle for over 2000 years. In an earlier life, as a young girl, Helle had died, Currently, Helle is a successful woman and starts working for Sam. In a short time, Sam starts to show his true self, being sexually intrusive, making things very difficult for Helle, that he will have Helle no matter what, even if it means killing Jason and forcing Helle to do as he wishes. Nothing matters to Sam then to have what he has been after for so long. Helle tried to quit her job but Sam is insistent that she keep working for him. She finally has the courage to just not report to work and take her chances with Jason. After that the friction between the three increases until Jason and Helle are fighting for their lives

Helle had few memories of her long ago past, or any other lives she had, Jason fills her in on most everything, he does keep from her how serious Sam is to fulfill his destiny. It takes Helle awhile to come to terms with what is happening. What transpires is a dangerous, suspenseful paranormal steamy romance that will keep you turning the pages. I have read everything, except for a novel or two in her Graham saga and I have to say that she never disappoints. I love a time travel story and this one is unique in that it involves more than one past live.

I look forward to the next in the series, The Wanderer which continues the story of Jason and Helle.
