thanks to netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.
Well written but that is the only thing that I can say, nothing interesting to read. Maybe a sad life.

This was an okay book, even though the theme and storyline have been done numerous times. A family move to the country, the house is strange with secrets, the family members too have secrets, their neighbours are a bit weird, a complex past comes back to haunt them, need I go on?. It wasn't up there with the best, too long winded in places and because I'd read the same theme so many times before, I grew a little impatient for something to happen away from the normality of days in the new house. If you've not read something similar then it's a good read, just not for me this time I'm afraid. .

I enjoyed this book, and found Karen a very believable and likeable character. I felt the portrait of village life was a bit clichéd, but the story is absorbing, and I would recommend it as a holiday book.

I found it quite difficult to get into this book and found it hard to like the characters. It was a little confusing in places and sometimes it felt quite unrealistic. But I can see how this would appeal to readers who enjoy twists and turns in a story.

After driving from London, a rather stressed Karen arrives at a country hamlet to be shown over their newly renovated cottage by proud husband Nick. What has gone before? How will their future pan out?

An emotional family drama exploring the dynamics between husband and wife. Added to that are the ups and downs of integrating into a new community with new neighbours.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and read it quickly.
