Many of us were crushed when the presidential election results were announced in 2016. in this book, Martin Espada curates a poetry of collection where the immigrants that Trump and his supporters excoriate are given a voice to express not just the outrage we were all feeling, but also the empathy we need to survive these troubled times. As with any collection, this one has hits and misses, but overall it was very powerful.

Incredibly powerful and lovely poetry from a diverse set of voices, all very timely in our current age of callousness, anger, idiocy and danger. Found some new poets I really liked as well.
