This is the story of Saffron and Jao, which is told over 9 Chapters + an Epilogue. The story is intriguing from the start, drawing the reader in and not letting them go until they have finished. The beginning jumps straight into the story, which is fast paced and doesn't leave the reader waiting long. One thing readers will not be able to miss is the sizzling chemistry between Saffron and Jao.

Joao’s is the world richest man who slept with his PA in a moment of weakness. They both tried to get over it as a one time mistake but instead they found each other irresistible. Saffron is a strong woman who doesn't take any crap from her boss. I really enjoyed reading this book and couldn't put it down. I will definitely recommend this book and author.

I really enjoyed reading this romance from Maya Blake and hope to read many more. The ingredients? A poor young man made rich and his lifelong ambition to destroy the man who fathered and abused him. To do this he needs his right-hand woman who is chosen, at this time, to find other employment. One sizzling night leads to far-reaching consequences that sees them discovering their feelings for each each other.
Well worth reading.

Maya Blake is a gorgeous writer and has long since been an auto buy for me. Her heroines are always lovely, her heroes effortlessly alpha. This lovely story didn't disappoint. It had all the ingredients I would expect from a Ms Blake/Mills & Boon Modern romance.

Read on holiday in one sitting and enjoyed.

is written by Maya Blake and published by M&B Modern. Joao Oliviera is the world’s richest man, Saffron Everheart is his assistant. After a night of passion in Morocco she decides to quit as she is tired of committing herself to his business needs 24/7. Joao decides that he needs Saffron to stay to help him tie up his latest business acquisition. He finds out she is pregnant with his children (twins)and the story and characters build from that point. He has built his empire from nothing and doesn’t want children whilst Saffron does. He does, however, decide that he wants the twins. Will there be a custody battle or marriage?

An enjoyable read, that drip feeds and explains the alpha male somewhat arrogant behaviour of the hero whilst at the same time showing how impending fatherhood can change a person’s character and relations with others. Saffron is a likeable character, who could have been developed further.

Saffron has been Joao's right hand woman throughout his climb to the top of the business world but after a business celebration turns personal and gives them both a night to remember, will either of them be able to go back to their boss /assistant relationship. Throughout the story we get to find out what has driven Joao to his successes and learn more about his damaged childhood. Joao has always thought that all he cared about was being the best in business but when he finds out that his dependable Saffron is pregnant is all that about to change?

This is the first book that I have read by Maya but definitely not the last as I really enjoyed reading it. Saffron and Joao work together but things get complicated when Saffron finds out she is pregnant from a night they had together in Morocco and he never wanted children. How will he react when he finds out and Saffron resigns from her job. There are twists and turns along with heartache and pain. I definitely recommend you read this book as it is so well written and worth reading.

Joao, the richest man in the world, is not easy to like on first acquaintance. His domineering attitude towards his intelligent, irreplaceable Executive Assistant Saffron, doesn’t endear, but once you see things from his point of view, you realise he cannot let her go, for reasons much deeper than her faultless ability to run his professional life.

Saffron, is a woman with goals, professionally she has excelled, but she still needs to fulfil her target, of creating a family. She is easy to like, she has integrity and insight, she knows life with Joao has to end, if she is to achieve her ideal life.

This is an emotionally charged story, full of contrasts, excess and glamour. The characters are complex, and believable, even though they inhabit a world few understand. The romance is slow to ignite, but passionate when it does. The conflicts are mostly internal, but are realistic, and threaten the high powered couples happily ever after.

The ending is romantic, and impossibly glamorous as fits the genre.

An enjoyable read saffron PA to Joao (worlds richest man) decides to quit as she isn’t happy in life, but Joao decides he has a problem with this, especially when there is a surprise from a nice of passion weeks earlier. Nice chemistry, Joao takes so,e time to warm to, but you get thee eventually. I loved saffron (Safire) from the start and she keeps you involved while your warming up to Joao. Great slow burn romance and reconnection. A great ending and epilogue, wonderful romance read.

An enjoyable romance with likeable characters and the pursuit of overcoming your past to accept your happy ever after.
Loyal PA Saffron has reached the end of the line as far as working for Joao is concerned, but her plan to quit is thwarted as her boss struggles with the implications of letting her walk out of his business (and his life). Unfortunately for Saffie, a night of passion with Joao some weeks earlier is about to change both their lives, and sets the reader on a journey through Saffie and Joao's struggles to accept the realities of their future, and forces both of them to think about what they really want from each other.
What I found interesting about this story is that, usually for a 'one night with consequences' set-up, the night in question happened before the book begins, and it takes a while for the reader to realise what has gone before, and the reveal of Saffie's pregnancy only occurs once the chemistry between the two has been established. Whilst Saffie is likeable from the offset, Joao does seem to come across initially as somewhat self absorbed, and, indeed, some of his actions towards Saffie once her pregnancy is revealed, do little to endear him to the reader. Thankfully, the author cleverly drip feeds information about Joao's somewhat tragic backstory, and you do begin to understand perhaps why he is the way he is. It takes a good portion of the book for Saffie and Joao to reconnect, but the pacing suits the plot, and the end result is rewarding.
All in all, an well written romance with some depth.

Saffie wants out, she has been the executive assistant for the worlds richest man, Joao Oliviera, for four years but she dreams of a family, love and happiness which just isn't happening in her job due to the amount of time she has to put in

Joao doesn't want Saffie to leave, she is an amazing assistant who anticipates his needs and organises everything whilst coming up with brilliant ideas to win people over. He refuses to accept her letter of resignation and instead makes a deal with her that she will stay in his employ for 3 months to help him secure one of the biggest deals he has ever done and then if she hasn't changed her mind she can go

There is one slight hitch to this plan as Saffie and Joao had one night together in Morocco and whilst working on the deal, Saffie discovers she is pregnant with his twins!

They both have emotional walls they have built up due to traumas in their pasts so can they break those down and realise that they need each other? Will Joao let Saffie go? Will they be willing to fight for a relationship that isn't just custody of the twins?

I really liked the character of Saffie, she was smart and independent, knowing what she wanted and not letting her overpowering boss take her dreams away from her. Her thoughts and emotions came through in the story and made her appear more real. I did struggle with Joao at first, whilst I could understand what drove him, his focus on the deal and owning Saffie grated on my nerves a bit. He thought of her more as a cog in the wheel, an asset to his company rather than the person she is

The story follows through and it is possible to see the changes in behaviour in Saffie and Joao as they develop as characters and their relationship changes, especially following the pregnancy announcement. By the end I actually quite like Joao (even if I'm still not sure how to pronounce his name!) he is protective of Saffie and realises how much he needs her and what he would do to keep her in his life (from offering to triple her salary and more). Saffie's focus on the babies is like any new mothers and she keeps their best interests at heart even when things become difficult

Maya deserves praise, it can't have been easy writing this book but coming up with some of the events must have been fun, hiring a road bridge for a dinner party for example!

I would recommend this book to those who know what they want out of life and aren't afraid to say it and do what they need to to follow their goals, also those who like a jet setting romance

I think this book had a lot of potential to be a 5 stars read for me, instead, I am torn between 3 to 3.5 stars.

In this book, we follow the world's richest man (lol) Joao and his current and very efficient Executive Assistant Saffron following the hot night of passion they shared in Marroco and I was actually expecting for he pregnancy to be revealed sooner (this is no spoiler as it's mentioned in the blurb so what's with that?!!!?!!), but no we hear about his business deals (which were glossed over anyway) and how much money he owns. Every step of the way he is buying people with money and an alpha attitude.

I felt kinda cheated that there is so much mentioned in the blurb, but we don't get to that part until gone 50% of the book - why?! The saving grace was that I the parts that I really enjoyed were well executed and the characters did make a good couple. Saffron knew how to hold him in check most of the time even though he was overbearing most of the time. The epilogue was super sweet so won itself some points there.

An Heir For The World's Richest Man, 4 Stars 🌟

Saffron Everhart has worked alongside Joao Oliviera, the richest man on earth, for 4 years until one night in Morocco changes both their lives and causes Saffron to reassess her future as Joao's Executive Assistant. But as tensions rise between them and the consequences of their one night becomes apparent; can Saffron break through Joao's barriers as he negotiates the deal of a lifetime and rethinks his future so they can embrace a very HEA!

If you are looking for a quick read, globetrotting around some of the world's most glamorous cities with strong dynamic characters then Ms Maya Blake's latest book An Heir For The World's Richest Man is a must read.

On a side note, I hope Lavinia Archer and Ernesto Blanco will be getting a story of their own as their brief appearance hinted at another potentially interesting story to come...

For your information, I received my copy from Netgalley and Mills and Boon via Mills and Boon Insiders however, this does not influence my opinions as all opinions are my own.
