This was a great book, i enjoyed the use of Norse mythology and a doomsday prophecy is something I wouldn't have thought of.
When you read this book, you must forget temporarily on the story of Odin, Thor and Loki you know. Because it is offering a fresh perspectives on Asgardian legend.
The book is interesting to read, especially when your reference of Asgardian is from MCU.
The timeline of this book is separated by centuries, so when author takes you on a flashback it really is flying faaaaaaar to the back and sometimes it is hard to reconnect with present timeline. As for the pace, it is really enjoyable, not too fast and not too slow. The plot twist is also appreciated as finally we found connection between series of flashback to our main character.
All in all, it is a very good book and I would recommend it for those who like sci fi and fantasy.
I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style, especially for description and insight on the characters' personalities. The reader is often told that a character is normally a certain way, simply to show how strangely they are acting in the current situation (ex. "In most parts of his life, Adam prized order and cleanliness but he started suppressing this trait the more he visited secondhand bookstores"). The dialogue seems stilted and awkward, and there are some sections of the book where the font styles for Huginn, Muninn, and Adam's thoughts aren't differentiated, which only adds to the confusion. While I like the premise of the book, the writing style made it difficult for me to finish reading it. I do believe that another round of editing and refining the book would make it a success.
