I LOVED foxglove farm, so when the opportunity to read Clover Cottage came up I grab it with both hands.

I absolutely adored this book, the story lines, the twists and turns and the ultimate ending. It had me chuckling and gripped at the same time.

The dialogue was believable throughout and I loved how the two novels linked together very subtly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I would recommend this book!

This is the third book in the Love Heart Lane series and I am delighted once again to be transported North to the wonderful Scottish village of Heartcross.

Vet Rory Scott has always wanted to do something more than be the Vet at his father's practice in Heartcross. He wanted to branch out, do something, see the world and have an impact on animals worldwide not just locally.

However feeling an obligation to his father and mother he stays in Heartcross and starts to settle with girlfriend, Allie. It all seems to be going well until...

Rory's father rents out the house that he is currently living in and gives Clover Cottage, rundown and in need of a lot of TLC to Rory. But he is not telling Rory something and this coupled with the stubborn need not to improve or the practice frustrates Rory.

Even more so when celebrity Zach Turner and his dog Sydney turn up in the area. Whilst Rory can help Sydney the dog he has to rely on other people in another place to be able to fulfill the dream. And when Zach makes him an offer it looks like he would be foolish to refuse it.

Allie has not got the drive of her boyfriend Rory, she loves him, she loves the village and she now certainly loves Clover COttage ans she can see her future there. She has spent many years being uprooted and thinks she has now found her final place to stay but why does Rory want to go further afield?

Can these two people seemingly going in opposite directions actually get to where they are meant to be - together?

Coming back to Heartcross and all the people I have got to know is like catching up with friends, life goes on and just now and again you need to pop in and see what has been happening and I was so glad I did. Even more thrilling when you know there is another chance to catch up with them all later in the year.

For fans of good women's fiction which is not light and fluffy but has real depth of emotion and character - read them all from the beginning of the series. You won't regret it!

Clover Cottage is the third of a lovely series to read. Love heart lane and foxglove farm being the first two.

Rory is the local vet in the Scottish village of Heartcross alongside his father. Rory is desperate to extend the practice but his father is resisting and digging his heels in. His girlfriend Allie a barmaid at her parent's local bar is a bit unsure where their relationship is going when Rory's parents gift him Clover cottage, it's rundown and in need of serious renovation. Rory refuses it.

The arrival of TV star Zach and his faithful dog changes everything when he invites Rory to go to Africa and star as the vet alongside him. Rory has always wanted to go to Africa but it is a year away and Allie is feeling very unloved and left out. They are both torn by family loyalties and their own wishes.

It is a lovely book with some great characters. I really enjoyed catching up with the residents of the village and the description of the village and its residents make you feel as though you are really involved in the story. It can be read as a stand-alone.
A great book and well worth 5 stars.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book x

I've just spent the most wonderful couple of hours in Heartcross, back amongst my friends from Love Heart Lane, and meeting whole new ones at the same time.

And what a roller coaster of a book this was, what I can definitely say is Christie Barlow really is producing her best stories and writing with this series. This was another super duper book!

I was hooked from the first few pages, and although at times the conflict between Allie and Rory was getting a bit frustrating, I could see things from both their points of view, and had my everything crossed they would have a great ending.

There is a story line involving Rory's mother that I sort of saw coming but didn't make it any less surprising and then there are revelations involving Rory's father's past that really did shock me. Not to mention the incredibly sexy Netflix star who rocks up in Heartcross and soon feels like part of the gang.

He added a new dimension to the books, and he was in some ways a catalyst for some potentially huge changes in both Rory and Allie's lives.

If you have read the other fantastic books in the series, then you will be as delighted as I am to see Felicity and Isla are Allie's best friends. Oh and there is such an adorable scene involving Mop the llama, and the dog show. I love Mop, he's so cute, and it was so amusing seeing him at the Summer fair.

Clover Cottage itself is key to a lot of the story, but not quite in the way you may expect, but it certainly deserves the title role in this book.

This is a warm and cosy story, if felt like I was wrapped up in a hug and I couldn't stop reading. I love this series so much it's scary, and I'm counting down the days until the next book is out!

Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This is a lovely little feel good story.

Vet Rory and Barmaid Alli have everything going for them until a spanner or two are thrown in the works. Will they survive.

I love these stories each story concentrates on two different characters in a very special village.

A great read, in a great setting. Lots going on in this book, but easy to keep up with. Nice to catch up with the characters from the previous books in this series too.

Such a lovely book to read. I’m a veterinary nurse so I loved reading about Rory and his practice.
Some difficult subjects covered very sympathetically too.
I love the setting and characters, you instantly feel part of the community ❤️
Looking forward to reading more from this fabulous series.

I loved this book,I genuinely struggled to put it down. It is one in a series, but it is so well written, it can be enjoyed as a stand alone. I was pulled in right from the front page and I was totally absorbed in the story. I really hope there is going to be another book from this series.

I have loved the other novels in the Love Heart Lane series so I couldn't wait to read this one. Christie's style of writing draws me in and as a result I find myself always trying to find ways to read one more chapter!

What I love about this series is that there are the same characters in all of them but each novel focuses on different people, whilst still reading about the others as well. It just has such a great community spirit in this books that I wished I lived somewhere like this and knew people such as this.

This one was feel-good, light hearted and really enjoyable and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read this novel.

I have been trying to limit the books I read on NetGalley and haven't requested any for a good few months however when One More Chapter invited me to read this 3rd story in the Love Heart Lane series I couldn't resist and pleased I didn't!

This book focused on characters from the previous 2 novels - Rory and Allie - and I thoroughly enjoyed their story.

The book starts when Rory's parents gift him and his girlfriend Allie a cottage in the village of Heartcross. This leads to some unrest for the couple with Rory getting itchy feet about seeing more of the world and leaving Allie confused about their relationship and where she stands. There are a few hurdles to overcome before we see whether Rory and Allie can find their happy ever after.

The inclusion of TV star Zach and his adorable Labrador Sydney brought some new energy alongside some favourite characters from the previous 2 books.

There was much to enjoy about this feel-good read and I understand there will be another story set in Heartcross and I'm excited to return for the next chapter!

My many thanks to One More Chapter (Harper Collins) via NetGalley for providing me with this advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

A light-hearted rural romance that is entertaining and a great read to cheer yourself up and escape to the Scottish village of Heartcross.
This is part of a series of books but can be read standalone just fine as all the background and characters are covered however if you read and enjoyed Love Heart Lane this features some of the much loved characters from that.
Things were not plain sailing in this love story and there were times when I quite frankly wanted to throttle Rory because he was being very pigheaded and insensitive to Allie, it was understandable they both had their own goals and comfort zones due to their families and backgrounds, and this drama of whether they'd start to look out for one another properly and make the right choices for their relationship was well-written and convincing.
There was a lot of village life covered and I get the impression there's definitely another book on the horizon with the arrival of a new mysterious character in the village and lots of storylines to further explore.
A really lovely read

My first experience of Christie Barlow and I loved it! It’s inspired me to go get the others as I only realised this is a series as I was reading! Can be read as a stand-alone however just some of the characters cross over.
A lovely story about a lovely little village. Hoping there are more books in this series as I can’t wait to read more!

Having read and loved the previous two books in the Love Heart Lane series I was over the moon having the opportunity of reading an advance copy of this book from Netgalley, although this didn't influence my review of the book.
This series of books set in Scotland have common characters with interconnected stories, but can be read on their own. This tone the story centres around Rory, a local vet, and Allie. They seemed destined for a typical romance that will probably eventually lead to marriage and family. His parents gift them a rather decrepit cottage that could be transformed into an ideal family home, however a spanner is thrown in the works when Rory is suddenly given the opportunity to fulfill his life's dream of working in a lion sanctuary in Africa for a year.
With a cast of characters both old and new, that community spirit and highs and lows of a romance that is not a guaranteed success I read this book almost in one sitting. Really looking forward to any new stories in this idyllic, but realistic, community.

Everything looks on the up for Allie and her boyfriend Rory. They are very much in love and Rory’s parents have given them a cottage that they will be able to make their own. Sadly, the prospect of their own home has the pair feeling torn.

Firstly, I have to say I was so envious of Rory being given Clover Cottage. Yes, it is somewhere that is going to need a lot of work but as a person who loves Grand Designs and similar programmes, like Allie, I could really see the potential in the place. Who doesn’t love a good fixer upper? My imagination was going into over drive and it wasn’t even mine!

Secondly, this is a reminder of how well do we really know our loved ones. We all have hopes and dreams and sometimes it takes something quite big to push us into going for what we want. I wasn’t sure whether Rory was being selfish or not by putting his own dreams before Allie’s. It had me torn and there is a real sense of a ‘will they, won’t they’ vibe going on as to whether this particular relationship will withstand what both these characters want.

Clover Cottage has so much going on that I was instantly transported to Heartcross and the lives of the characters. What a fabulous community to be part of. The back story of Rory’s parents was particularly touching and made for quite an emotional read in parts. I loved how the author keeps her readers on their toes with the romance aspect but over all it is way more than a romance novel. Friendship and community play a big part and this books is filled to the brim. A heartfelt and warming story that stole my head and heart.

This is the third book in the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow. Although it is part of a very enjoyable series, this story is completely stand-alone. I’m sure I’m not the only reader who enjoys revisiting places and characters that have become so familiar from previous novels, but that is not a prerequisite for following the events in this story. I have been looking forward to reading this book ever since I finished the last one in this series. I devoured it in the space of a few hours, and am now hoping that there will be a fourth part, as I can envisage lots ahead for the characters of Love Heart Lane.

In common with the other books in this series, the action takes place in the village of Heartcross, in the highlands of Scotland. This particular story centres on Allie, daughter of the owners of the village pub, and her boyfriend and local vet, Rory, who works in partnership with his father, Stuart. Allie is delighted when Rory is bequeathed Clover Cottage, a rather rundown property in the village. However, Allie is more than a little bewildered that Rory seems reluctant to consider settling down and moving in there with her. It seems that he still has dreams of spending time working with animals in Africa. Rory’s itchy feet are made worse when the peaceful village life is suddenly shattered by the arrival of TV personality Zach, who has himself spent time with wildlife in Africa and is soon to return there. Allie has never entertained ideas of leaving Heartcross, but is torn between her desire to settle down with Rory and not wanting to hold him back from realising his dream, which is suddenly within his reach. In addition to Zach, there is another, more sinister arrival in the village - a property developer whose intentions are the subject of much speculation.

I enjoyed this third book in the Love Heart Lane series just as much as the last 2 parts. There were highs and lows and even tears of sadness and joy, as the wonderful feeling of community in this village was once again expressed in the skilful writing. Friends and family played a big part in guiding Allie and Rory through this troubled period in their relationship, but the whole community pulled together when required. As a reader of the previous books in the series, it was a joy to see how things had developed since my last visit. I can recommend this whole series to other readers.

I loved this book. The Love Heart Lane Series has been fabulous.
This is book 3 in the series. I also recommend reading Love Heart Lane and Foxglove Farm (which were equally fabulous!) to get the full back story of the people in the small village of Heartcross.
It can be read as a stand-alone as the focus is on different characters, but it was great to catch up with the locals of this beautiful area. I want to live there!
This story is based around Rory the vet, who works at his Dad’s practice and his girlfriend Allie the daughter of the local publicans.
Introducing a TV star, the handsome Zach, who is filming in the locality for his TV show. He has his faithful dog with him too. He’s stopping on the farm in one of the cute caravans.
It’s time for the annual Summer Fete and Zach agrees to help with judging ‘best dog’.
A large crowd is guaranteed once the locals get wind of a star in their midst and the ladies put on their fancy clothes to impress him! There is a constant queue of people wanting a selfie.
Martha was there with her crystal ball, predicting people’s future. Some of the things she said caused a lot of thought and discussion, especially to Allie.
Africa is next on the filming list for Zach and this ignites some feelings from Rory who always dreamed of visiting Africa since his vet school days.
No spoilers from me, you’ll need to read it. It’s got everything you could want from a book, the community spirit, family and love. I absolutely loved it.
Thanks to Christie Barlow for creating this story, and I did shed a tear. How she keeps writing these beautiful stories is astonishing. Can you tell that I love them?
Thanks to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for the review copy in which I give my honest opinion

A story to lose yourself in, certainly one to pack in your suitcase this summer. We follow Rory, the local vet who always had ambition to travel to Africa as part of his work, and Allie his girlfriend, who works in her parents pub. Allie had an unsettled childhood moving from place to place but living and working in this little village in the Scottish Hoghlands is her forever place where she would like to settle down and raise a family.. Rory put his travelling behind him to join his father in the local vets practice and would like to extend the practice to include a hospital for injured animals. Something his father seems against.

His parents wish to give Rory Clover Cottage to settle down with his girlfriend Allie but is the timing right for this? Also when Zach, the TV celebrity turns up in the village before his next TV work in Africa, he invites Rory to go along with him but this is for twelve months. We follow Rory and Allie as they work through family loyalty, ambition and their relationship.

I loved foxglove farm so was so excited to read clover cottage from the love heart lane series and it exceeded my expectations! So lovely to catch up with the characters from heartcross village and see how relationships had grown and developed. This book concentrated upon the characters of vet Rory and his girlfriend Allie their love life, career opportunities and family loyalties! The path of true love rarely rarely runs smoothly and this was clearly illustrated, the overall feeling was that true love is worth working at and waiting for which is precisely what Allie and Rory do even though it means separation, new exciting career opportunities and divided family loyalties and a massive renovation project! A great feel good read that takes you back to heartcross and all its familiar characters, would highly recommend to all! Thank you net galley for this early read!
