This is a good Cold War era spy thriller. I liked the story, but it somehow did not engage me as much as others. I can’t really put my finger on why it did not resonate with me, but I think some people would really like this one.

Thank you net galley for the advance reader copy of this novel. This was a spy novel and not my normal reading genre. I enjoyed this novel about cold war era spy travelling in Eastern Europe. I thought the plot moved nicely and the book moved at a good pace. A good read for someone normally into regency romance novels.

This was an interesting read for me. I thought the first chapter and the last few chapters were great. Hard to stop reading and hard to not be interested in the storyline. But the middle of the book just didn’t do it for me. Almost like that could have been left out and the book would have still made sense and been enjoyable. I wish there was a little more excitement and less anti-climatic events.

Thanks to Netgalley, Geoffrey Davison, and Sapere Books for providing me with an advanced reading copy.

Excellent, beautifully written book that moves. Fans of sophisticated spy thrillers will really like this book. The plot moves quickly, and the writing is tight as a drum. Recommended for fans of John LeCarre or Alan Furst, Set in the 1960's, a British spy is sent to infiltrate the KGB in Romania. No spoilers, but if you watched The Americans on TV, you'll like this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Congrats to the author on a terrific book!

The Spy Who Swapped Shoes is the first book in a spy series by Geoffrey Davison and it is an enjoyable read with a good storyline that kept me entertained throughout

I will definitely be looking to read the other two books in the series

The first in a series of espionage books featuring Stephen Fletcher, this is a good cold war thriller by an author new to me. I am a sucker for a good spy thriller and this is certainly one.

An original and clever plot and a good sense of time and place as the set is set in Eastern Europe in the time of the Cold War.

This was a good quick read packed with action and excitement and I will be trying the next two books in the series.
