WILDFLOWER HOPE (The Wildflower House book 2) by Grace Greene
Another beautifully written book by Grace Green. The sequel to Wildflower House is every bit as wonderful and poetic as the first book.
Filled with such hope, love, promise, laughter, pain, tears, forever after, this book will pull you in and not let go. The love that is in this book is so obvious yet Kara Lange Hart had to go through so much to find it. Losing her husband, child, mother and father she’s pretty much afraid to hope for anyone to be her forever. She has lots of great friends and two guys who both seem interested but she knows that she can only love one.
Losing her father was one of the hardest things Kara has gone through. After finding out the whole truth about his life growing up she wanted nothing more than to help him find his lost family. He two siblings who went missing when they were just toddlers. It was not to be though. When he passed Kara decided to go ahead and finish his dream of completing Wildflower House. Turning it into a type of retreat for artist of every kind was also her dream. She has put her heart and soul into this. Will it be a success? Will people come? Will she be able to see it through to the end? Kara is a fighter even though at times she thinks she is weak.
With help she finally is able to forgive her best friend, Victory, for a huge misunderstanding. Victory truly just wanted things to be good for Kara. It took Kara quite a while to accept that though. With Victory’s help she’s able to do some things that she would most likely not have done alone.
This book is so heartwarming. You will feel like you are there. From the inside of the house to the land surrounding it, it’s like I was there. The bench at the water. The trail to the old house where her father lived as a young boy. The trees and flowers all seem so real and alive to me. I could almost smell the beauty. This book is so touching and well written. You will fall in love with this community and people. The wonderful surprises along the way will make your heart feel so happy.
This is such a good series and I am sure there will be another. I have to find out what happens next for Kara. For all the characters. I picture what I think will happen but until I can read it I won’t know for certain. It’s truly a wonderful heartfelt loving story of love, loss, heartache, hope, finding and trusting people and love again. It has it all. This story made me laugh and cry. It made me have many feelings but mostly hope.
Two sentences stood out to me strongly: (1) Time. It recurred every second. On and on. And each second was an opportunity to do life better. Or worse. Unless you were to busy mourning the past seconds to see the opportunity-or the danger.
(2) “You can’t choose where you’re born, but you can choose where to grow”
I loved those. They fit perfectly.

A STORY OF RESTORATION!

I’ve read many of Grace Greene’s books and while I’ve enjoyed them, none have touched me like Wildflower Hope. Wildflower Hope is Book 2 in the Wildflower House Series. This book may be read as a stand alone as Greene gives sufficient background so the reader won’t be lost. However, to be enjoyed to it’s fullest, it should be read in sequential order.

In Wildfire Hope, Greene has continued the story of Kara Hart. Hart is a strong woman who has suffered immeasurable grief and is trying her best to be an overcomer. She wanted to fulfill her father’s dream for the Wildflower House but comes up with a more dynamic plan on her own. Her plan is risky and will require blood, sweat and tears - and maybe not just her own. Greene includes many of the same characters from WILDFLOWER HEART and also introduces some exciting new characters.

The main theme of this book is restoration - 1) the restoration of Wildflower House and grounds into a retreat center for artists, writers and other creatives to come and work undisturbed, 2) the restoration of families for so many, many different reasons, 3) the restoration of dreams for the future, 4) the restoration of possible romance, 5) the restoration of cherished friendships and most importantly 6) the restoration of FORGIVENESS. Oh what a difference maker that is for everyone!

Kara has been thru a lot in her life, first with her Mother’s leaving, marriage issues, then a horrific accident and rehab, then her father’s death. She takes over a home her father has bought and has a vision. But she needs to come to turn with all her issues first.

I did not read the first Wildflower House Book, but had heard so much about it that I jumped to read the second. With that being said, I don’t feel that I missed much by not reading the first one. I picked up what happened in Book #1 with the author’s flashback. I enjoyed the beautiful, descriptive writing, but found the characters and I just did not connect. The book dragged somewhat, and I kept waiting for something big to happen, but was disappointed.

I love Grace Greene’s books and Wildflower Hope is no exception. This book is well crafted and the characters are well developed. I highly recommend this book. My thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.

Kara Hart is suffering. She has lost not only her mother, husband and unborn child but now she has suddenly lost her father. He has been her support system all her life. To top it off, he has left her with a run down Victorian mansion to restore. With no other choice but to return to her old job or stay where she was just beginning to feel stronger, she decides to turn the old house into a retreat for artists. Not only does Kara struggle with the size of the project, she struggles with self-confidence and the lingering effects of her accident and the sudden death of her father.. The local neighbors are more than willing to help Kara with her project; but Kara must learn who to trust and how to lower her protective defenses and gain confidence.

What impressed me most about this book was Grace Green's ability to develop the characters and their dialogue. Each character was given a distinct personality and their interactions seemed believable.. Each character had their own struggles and their interactions with the other characters seemed true. I was unable to stop reading this book as it approached it"s conclusion because I felt so vested with the characters and story

This is the second book in this series and I just loved it as much as the first one! Wonderful warm and loving story with amazing characters!!!

Losing someone she loves plus a disagreement with a friend drives Kara to the edge with grief, disappointment and fear. She has to fight betrayal, loneliness, and an addiction for her to realize she must choose how she wants her life to move forward. Ms. Greene writes a plot that keeps you bound to the storyline, to find out if and how Kara overcomes struggles, setbacks and questionable choices. I truly enjoyed reading this story and as the name implies, Wildflowers are tough and so was Kara's life, but in this emotional story we see how strong Kara is in finding Hope and regaining what she wants in life.

This was a sweet story about family relationships, second chances, and the heart of a woman named Kara. Kara has faced many hard times, but has emerged a stronger woman. Follow her as she strives to renovate an estate and create an art resort. This was a sweet story.

This book was so good! It is a wonderful story of forgiveness and grief and moving on with your life. This book is very well written and comes to life with the author's words. A beautiful written story on grief, forgiveness and rebuilding your life. Kara has gone through many losses in her life and now is in the process of rebuilding her life along with the renovations of a house that her dad bought, she will rebuild it to her likes and dreams. Along her journey she will meet wonderful people that will help her through her grief process.

Grace Greene writes in such vivid detail that you can close your eyes and feel like you are right there in the wildflowers and the restoration of the house. Loved how Kara grew with her life and forgiving people from her past.

Loved this book, this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone but so much better if you read the first book in the series. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. I read through my kindle unlimited.

Wildflower Hope is the second novel in the Wildflower House series by Grace Greene. Kara Hart came to Wildflower House after sustaining serious injury and losing her husband and unborn child in an accident. Now she is trying to hold it together after unexpectedly losing her father. She continues the renovations her father started, but now they are her ideas, and it’s her vision for the house that is coming to life.
Kara has faced loss and betrayal, her confidence is shaken, and she has to find her way forward. Looking toward her future, she taps into a strength she didn’t know she had, while learning to forgive herself and others, while opening herself up to new friends and possibilities. There is so much emotion here, and Kara has been dealing with a lot by burying it and forging on.
This is the second in the series, and the first I have read. There is enough background that it can stand alone, but I found myself wishing I had read the first, just for the richer background on the story and all the characters. This is a well-written novel with interesting characters; I found myself empathizing with Kara and really tuning into her emotions and challenges. The descriptions of the setting were vivid, and I found myself wishing I could be a part of the area. While the ending was satisfying, I do see enough left unresolved to warrant a third book in the series which will be added to my TBR list, so I can see how Kara continues to grow and the end Wildflower House’s renovations.

Wildflower Hope, the second book in The Wildflower House series, is a great follow up to Wildflower Heart, although it can easily be read as a standalone. Kara had a tough childhood and her marriage didn’t work out as she had dreamed it would. Her father has always been a strong part of her life but not the best communicator. They were just deepening their relationship and finally starting to really talk at Wildflower House when he suddenly died. Kara knows she can’t let this latest grief overtake her and resolves to finish renovating her dad’s Victorian mansion in rural Virginia but will turn it into a creative retreat for artists and writers. She has never attempted anything like this before and plodding through while trying to manage her grief, and what she doesn’t acknowledge is her addiction to pain killers, won’t be easy. But she feels so at home in the lovely, vividly portrayed Virginia countryside that she is sure the effort will be well worth it.

This is a story with delightful characters and a strong plot that keeps you engrossed until the very last page. It’s a story about family and friendship and hope and just putting one foot after the other, as many times as it takes. Kara does move forward and become stronger, but not without struggles and setbacks and questionable choices. Kara and Seth have just met and she really feels a connection, but maybe she latches on to him a little too firmly, building hope that may be false, assuming – or desperately hoping? – that his dreams are hers.

It was a joy to accompany Kara on her journey. She is much stronger than she realizes but appealingly vulnerable at the same time. The romance is sweet. I can’t wait to continue the journey with Kara and the rest of the characters in this beautiful Virginia setting.

While I did get to the end of this book, I honestly just skimmed most of it. I felt so lost at the beginning, not realizing until I look into book one that Wildflower Hope is not just part of a series, but is a trilogy about the same woman.
If I had known that, I would not have bothered to read this book without reading book one. This series should be marketed as a trilogy; it’s definitely not a stand-alone read. Not sure if it was less interesting because of this, or the ultra descriptive and wordy writing style, but i can’t in good faith even give this book a starred rating. I won’t be posting anything on any book sites.

Hope Springs Eternal. In this followup to Wildflower Heart, released earlier this year, Greene continues the story of Wildflower House and in particular Kara Hart. This story picks up just days after the end of that tale and is heavily influenced by its events, so it isn't really one a new reader can come into without having read the first book - but the first book is at least as good as this one, and thus it isn't exactly a hardship. ;) Solid story and very much recommended.

A fantastic follow up to Wildflower Heart, in the series about Kara Lange Hart and the surrounding characters in her life. This book continues her story where she rebuilds her life at Wildflower House. The introduction of new characters bring a new aspect to her life as she ventures into something she is excited yet nervous to embark on. The rich descriptions of the surroundings at Wildflower property both inside and outside are so great that it’s easy to picture everything Grace Greene intends the reader to. This is another glorious book by Grace Greene, written with the grace that she so easily does. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I’m grateful to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

As the second book in the Wildflower House series, Wildflower Hope enables us to walk with Kara in her grief over her father's recent death as well as the past losses of her mother, husband, and unborn child. She throws herself onto reviving Wildflower House in her father's memory, but the process turns into a healing of Kara's physical and emotional distress, staunching a close call with drug dependence. What began as Henry Lange's dream becomes the instrument of her fulfillment, her self expression.

This book leads Kara out of her captivity in the past to her ability to live in the present: her bond to past losses relaxes; she frees Seth to pursue his dream job; she forms a friendship with Will, a landscaper and woodworker. Thus the stage is set for the continuation of the series and Kara's eventual ability to visualize the future she wishes to inhabit.

I love Grace Greene's writing, her rich descriptions of the house, its renovations and furnishings, the land. But most of all,the people pull me to them and don't let go. This Old Virginia girl is a part of the story as I read. I'm not on the sidelines; I'm in the middle of it all. I am invested in each character, even Victoria when she stubbornly returns.

Wildflower Hope was a book full of hope for the main character, Kara Lange Hart. She survived her mom leaving her when she was 16 and dying two years later and she is has survived the death of her husband Niles on their sixth wedding anniversary. Now she is dealing with the most recent death of her father and trying to restore Wildflower Hope with her own vision.

I liked Kara's strong character and how resilient she is but she is also realistically trying to give up the drugs she was given after the car accident that left her in a lot of physical and emotional pain. I admired how Kara was not going to settle for any relationship just so she would not be alone. She was finally taking care of her needs first and growing in her own strength She was willing to be vulnerable.

I really enjoyed how the story ended with hope and all through the story I could truly envision the Wildflower House and the medallion garden dedicated to her father. The supporting characters were wonderful too.

This is a beautifully written story by an author I was not familiar with. The wonderful depth to Kara's character and the people she touched and what she went through and how she changed and transformed was just like how the Wildflower House changed and transformed to become strong and elegant and full of life and love. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Wildflower Hope by Grace Greene. A story about her grief with her father dying and turning Wildflower House into a creative retreat. I love the descriptions of wildflower house but especially the description of the carriage house.

I love Grace Greene's writing. It's descriptive and lyrical, drawing me in so that I can clearly picture the places and people of her Cub Creek world. In this volume, Kara's life is once again in chaos and I had a hard time connecting with Kara; her off-putting behavior and self-absorbed mental talk held me back from truly empathizing with her pain. I had to take a break from this and read something lighter before I could go back and see what Grace would use to bring Kara to the breakthrough she needed to grow and come out of the experience prepared to take on the future. My faith was rewarded and I found satisfaction in the book's concluding chapters.

This story has sadness, hope, acceptance, growth, forgiveness, and so much more. Take the ride of Kara’s life with her. It’s often hard to go on after you lose a loved one. Kara shows us through her growth and determination that it can be done. Decisions are not always easy to make and some have a harder time that others. What fun to have an artistic retreat for people to come and enjoy. I think what Kara is building would be so much fun to have or at least visit and enjoy. I love these characters and am excited to see what happens next with Kara and Will and with the Wildflower House. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.
