This author NEVER disappoints! Once again a beautiful piece of work. Couldn’t put it down. Storyline was great as were the characters! Definitely one to recommend!

Second chance romance at its best . Meghan Quinn writes romance magic. Highly recommend That Forever Girl.

The getting lucky series 2nd installment was worth the wait!

This book goes between alternative POV, I love this in a book. Reading the story from all angles. Who does not love a good story with the hate/love push and pull? Tears. Laughs. And love. Super emotional book in a great little town in Maine. I would love to visit this part of the county and reading this makes it easier and easier to move this up the bucket list. When you read a great book about a place you dream of visiting, it was a perfect end of summer read for me.

Looking at this cover I felt like I would be in heaven reading this book, but was I wrong I felt like it dragged on and it would get to the main even for anything. I barley was able to finish this book. I really am sad that Meghan Quinn gave such a lacking read, because normally I love her books.

I tried to read That Forever Girl, but it just wasn't happening. Maybe I should have taken the hint when I rated book 3 one star. I cant' narrow down one specific thing other than I just didn't really care about Rogan and Harper. I was distracted and could not care less if I went back to their story. I'm thinking my love affair with Meghan Quinn is over. Her books have always been a hit and miss for me, and these last few have not fared very well.

Thank you for the opportunity. I'm pretty sure my tastes have changed. I won't be requesting any more books from this author.

THAT FOREVER GIRL is the second book in the GETTING LUCKY series, and it didn’t lose a beat from the first book, THAT SECOND CHANCE. The prologue begins two and a half years before in New Orleans where book one begins. We meet up with the four Knightly brothers once again, but this is Rogan’s story, along with his best friend, Harper.

Watching Rogan and Harper’s friendship go from best friends to more was heartwarming, and I loved the way their love story was portrayed. There was a depth and rightness to their feelings, and it was amazing how well they fit together. They’d been best friends since sixth grade, but it took them awhile to realize that they felt more than friendship. There were definitely obstacles placed in their path to test their love.

Both their families played important roles in the story, and the town came alive through the telling of their romance. The descriptions were beautifully written and made me feel like I was there. There were much reminiscing about the past as well as characters dealing with a twisting present. The story played out with many surprises along the way and ended with a satisfying conclusion.

There are two more Knightly brothers who need their stories told. Whose will be next?

Ms. Quinn is an author who’s been on my radar, and I’ve read the first two books in this series. I’ve added more of her books to my always growing TBR pile and can’t wait to read more.

Oh man, I loved going back to Port Snow and the Knightly brothers! This time for Rogan and Harper to rekindle their romance from their teen years. And unless Rogan and Harper can see their way past their past history, their romance won't make it this time either.

I struggled a bit with Rogan, and his likeability, and his real desire to win Harper's heart again. I did love that Harper didn't just acquiesce and allow Rogan to run roughshod over her. That she made him work at it. Their story was a bit of a slow burn, but it was needed due to the fact that Rogan had a lot of things to make up for.

In the end, I did really like Rogan and Harper together, that their love really did seem genuine and true. And I'm looking forward to Eve and Reid's story next!

I'm pretty sure I enjoyed this more than That Second Chance - probably because I liked Rogan and Harper's (actual) second chance love story more than Griff and Ren's, which is weird because Griff and Ren are actually more likable as characters (well, at least more likable than Rogan). Another reason I enjoyed this one a bit better was the sort of mic drop that Meghan Quinn masterfully performed as to Rogan's (and Harper's) past. I also liked the dual perspective flashbacks we get that form the basis of their love; they really allow you to get a different view of Rogan and to really root for the couple despite their obvious issues in the present. Of course, being back in Port Snow is a pleasure as is the underlying mystery of the letters and the identity of the "forever girl." I'm looking forward to reading Reid's story next, but I really can't wait for Brig's! 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses

Another fabulous book by Meghan Quinn. This is the 2nd book in the Getting Lucky series. This series is about the Knightly brothers. There are 4 of them and they are a handful. The brothers believed they have been cursed by a woman while they were on a trip in New Orleans. The curse is they will never find love until they have “matured”.

This book is about Rogan and his once girlfriend, fiancé, best friend Harper. They broke up in college and have not seen each other in 7 years. Harper is back in town and Rogans family and the town will not rest until they are back together.

This is a sweet story of two people who belong together finally making their way back to one another. The supporting characters are funny and just the right amount of meddlesome. Also the back story helped you see how Rogan and Harper got where they are in their lives. Rogan did come across as an arrogant butthole but the more the book progresses you realize he is a true romantic.

While it took me a long time to finish this, I still really loved it. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.

There were a lot of tropes: second chance romance, a really slow burn, friends-to-lovers, and even enemies-to-lovers kind of. There were two timelines (past and present), and it would be hard to say which was my favorite. They both had their good points/moments.

I really liked Harper, and her dad. I adored seeing more of the Knightly family, and I did like Rogan a lot. I’m not sure if he will be my favorite brother, so we’ll have to wait and see. While I appreciated the friendship turned romance in the past, the present was a little harder for me to get behind. The scenario behind their breakup was slowly revealed, and it took forever for them to get back together. Honestly, I wanted things to happen quicker, but the pace made sense based on things revealed towards the end of the book.

Overall, I really enjoyed this, and I can’t wait to continue on with the series. I would recommend if you like Hallmark movies, or sweeter contemporary romances. They have a different tone from the other Meghan Quinn books I’ve read, but they're just as fantastic.

This is the second book in the Getting Lucky series. I was quite excited about this book because I feel in love with the people in Port Snow, Maine and the Knightly's.

My favorite thing about this series is the banter between the family. It's great.

"Can you please stop meddling in my life?"
Dad laughs. "It's cute you asked that, son, but no. It's my job as a parent to meddle. Without my superior meddling and your mothers's ability to easily guilt the five of you kids, you all would be pantsless, with not a penny to your names."

"Watch out, Port Snow, Rogan Knightly is going to have a few bites of ice cream." She shakes her head in disappointment. "Nut up, man, and have a bowl."

In the Second Chance, Rogan seems like a tough nut to crack so I was happy to get his back story and the truth why he's grumpy about love. Harper and Rogan have history and a lot of hurt feelings between the two of them, so when Harper lands back in Port Snow it causes a lot of issues between the two. While Rogan and Harper are wading through their past there is also a parallel story that we get hooked into as well.

This was a sweet second chance love story. I can't wait for more from this Knightley's.

I was really excited about this book and while there were parts of it that wowed me, there were parts that left me feeling unsettled. I’ve enjoyed a lot of Meghan Quinn’s work in the past and loved the first book in this series so requesting, reading, and reviewing That Forever Girl was a no brainer. While I was completely happy with the outcome in this book, getting there for me was a bit of a battle. I adore second chance romances, but I am not a fan of flashbacks (and there were many in this book) nor am I a fan of a couple who spends a great deal of a book being at odds which again happened in this book. I will say that the premise of this story was well thought out, the “mystery” unique and interesting, but the romance left a bit to be desired which was disappointing.

Best friends since childhood and together since high school Rogan and Harper were destined to be together forever until a tragedy struck in their sophomore year of college ending everything. Rogan returned home to Port Snow and Harper bounced around the east coast after dropping out of college finding work where she landed, but now she’s back and things are about to get very interesting.

I liked Harper and it was obvious she returned to Port Snow because her life wasn’t turning out like she planned. She needed to be with her father, she needed her friends, and the safety net that Port Snow offered her. Rogan on the other hand was a pretty miserable guy, in the first book it was obvious something had happened to him in his past that was haunting him and we do find out what happened through the flashbacks, it wasn’t an excuse for how badly he treated Harper when she returns or in the past.

Despite it being in flashbacks I enjoyed the little mystery that Rogan and Harper tried to solve as teens even though I figured out who the “forever girl” was pretty quickly, it was a fun subplot. I loved that in reality they both still had strong feelings for one another despite the past hurt, but hated that they couldn’t communicate better instead of throwing barbs at one another instead.

There was so much history between Rogan and Harper so much of it precious and good, so it was disturbing that they sniped at each other throughout so much of this book. I wanted more time with them discovering each other as adults which sadly didn’t happen.

I had really mixed feelings about That Forever Girl, while parts of it were exciting and fun, other parts were spiteful and mean. While I loved being back in Port Snow, loved seeing the Knightly family again, and the excitement of the town being featured in a movie, I felt like the romance was lacking for a majority of the book which was disappointing.

What a joy it was to be back with the Knightly clan and all the loveable quirky characters who reside in Port Snow, that quaint little New England town where meddlers, gossipers, and well-meaning folk make it a point to know each other’s business. And the sexy Knightly boys are most certainly the topic of conversation on many lips! There’s plenty to gossip about since Griffin, Rogan, Reid, and Brig were love cursed by an angry clairvoyant two years ago on a boozy boys trip in New Orleans.

We first met these men in That Second Chance which was Griffin and Ren’s story, and now, in That Forever Girl, we explore Rogan’s and Harper’s love story. A childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance which we felt in our hearts.

“I love you, and that’s never going to change.”

That Forever Girl is told in dual pov with past to present switches so we share the progressive relationship from childhood friends to lovers, leading to the bitter breakup that left Harper bereft and desperately unhappy, and Rogan an unhappy angry man. What happened? What went so wrong in such an idyllic and perfect love story? Well, the outcome really did take us by surprise.

‘What do you say to the love of your life, the girl you pushed away so many years ago?’

It’s been seven years since Harper and Rogan’s love shattered, seven years in which they’ve tried to put the past behind them, however, when Harper returns to Port Snow old wounds are re-opened and painful pasts addressed. Harper was Rogan’s world – he was going to marry this girl.

“She didn’t just lose you, Rogan; she lost all of us.”

As Harper and Rogan return to the past we learn of a love story within a story which was so sweet and mysterious, and the way in which Harper and Rogan’s love story was so influenced by the town is endearing. Meghan Quinn really captured the essence of the love they both shared. A friendship that started in the sixth grade, towards a love that refused to die.

“Kiss me like you mean it, Harper.”

We adore the small town experience Meghan Quinn brings to this story. She so vividly brings the town to life with her words – so much so, we want to pack our bags and holiday there and taste the fudge, enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a chin wag with the locals! They’re so offbeat and fun.

It’s not only the love story and the town, but the family dynamics of the Knightly clan also gave us such a laugh. The group text ‘Four Men and a Witch’ with the four brothers and their sister Jen is hilarious and the meddling was delightful. Such little details added to the ambiance of the story.

“Can you please stop meddling in my life?” Dad laughs. “It’s cute you asked that son, but no.”

If you love small-town romances that are rich in scenery, packed with sweetness, heat, and fun, and looking for an easy reading escape, look no further than the Getting Lucky series! Love second chance stories! Perfect read!

Meghan Quinn has done it again! I absolutely loved this book and although it’s only the second in this series it has become my favorite!

After finally devouring That Second Chance back in July, I couldn't wait to get more of the Knightly brothers. I was especially stoked for Rogan's story because it was another second chance romance. Y'all know those are my jam. That Forever Girl was an excellent addition to Meghan's Getting Lucky series. Boy do I love these Knightly brothers. (And their ladies!)

I'll be the first to admit That Forever Girl is a bumpy ride. Rogan was grumpy and closed off. I liked Harper, but it did take me a little time to connect with her. There was no doubt there was still a bit of a flame lingering between them, but it took awhile for things to progress. And I wanted to shake both of them at various times along the way. All that said, the pacing and the story felt authentic for them. I do love a good, frustrating (and even angsty) slow burn. That Forever Girl was all of the above.

Without giving too many of the details of Harper and Rogan's story away, I can tell you I swooned super freaking hard for this one. His grand gesture? Oh my word. If I hadn't already been half in love with him at that point, that would've sealed the deal. So romantic!  As with the first book, I found myself nearly as enamored by the town and its people as I did the romance. Not slighting the romance here. The setting and characters were just that good. I can't wait for the third!

When I pick up a Meghan Quinn book I know I’m in for a treat. This was a feel good romance. This would be perfect on a rainy Sunday. Definitely worth a read.

Wanna know a fun fact? I was worried I wouldn't like "That second chance" and I thought I would like "That forever girl", but the opposite happened. I loved "That second chance" and I didn't like much "That forever girl". For the majority of the book, we get flashback chapters and I hate flashback chapters. The past and the present alternate for a long time and I ended up skimming some of them. The bright side of the flashbacks is that we saw Claire aka Griffin's dead wife, while she was still alive and happy with him. But I didn't see the point of going through so much history when we already knew most of the details. I wanted to see more of the main characters in the present time. Rogan is a douche to Harper for half of the book and they went too fast from the hate relationship to them getting back together. I wanted to see the change in Rogan happen gradually and not in the blink of an eye. I was disappointed in him. But I got very high hopes for Brig's story though and he seemed like I guy I am gonna fall hard for.

I would have also liked a little more focus on the person our main characters are today. Harper has escaped her abusive almost fiance and it was barely mentioned. Rogan's reason for pushing Harper away in the first place is still there and the story could have on the spotlight and show us how Rogan started to grow past it and adapt to it. I guess I expected different things from the ones we got and that's on me, but I can't stop feeling disappointed. I would not recommend the book.

I'm a sucker for second chance stories. And once again, Meghan Quinn delivers another beautifully written heart-swooning, entertaining read. I love the Knightly clan and the way they rib each other. The banter in the group texts were hilarious. Her characters have depth and personality. The way Quinn describes Port Snow is picturesque. I loved this book. I can't wait to read the next one.

That Forever Girl is amazing book in the Getting Lucky series. Meghan has already proved in the past that she knows how to write a small-town romance story and this book is no exception. It wasn’t Meghan’s typical rom-com, however she totally rocked the emotional second-chance plotline and there are still bits of her humor here and there throughout the book. 

Rogan and Harper have a long history and this book included their past as well as their present story. It was very insightful to understand how their relationship worked in the past. Rogan quickly became one of my favorite male protagonists for his spirit, his endurance, his character. He managed to make a name for himself despite all the obstacles life has thrown at him. And I couldn’t help but swoon over his romantic gestures! I swear he is one of the most swoon worthy characters I’ve even read. Harper gave the mysterious vibe from the start and it was quite captivating to follow throughout the story. This story takes place after she moves back to her hometown, so it was interesting to read about her circumstances. 

Overall this is a really great story. Great plot lines and twist, nicely build-up characters with amazing chemistry. Definitely worth reading. I’d recommend reading the first book first just to get to know the town and the secondary characters, but it can be read as a standalone as well.
