A very informative book that is not just catering on weight loss and food intake but also about gut health and how certain foods can have an effect on our gut and bowels. It is written in plain English therefore easy to follow and understand. This makes a great addition to anyone’s health section of their bookcase.
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Books for my eARC of this book

Interesting and informative guide to gut health. Not sure there was much that I had not already encountered however it was presented in a very accessible way.

I suffer with IBS and other gut issues, so was very keen to read this book.

From what I’ve read from a short sample review copy it does look useful, and I’m seriously tempted to buy the book.

A great introduction to the all important topic of gut health for those wishing to understand the subject better . The advice ,reasons for the advice, self questionnaires and recipes make for a satisfying read and a good start to a journey to better health. I must confess I have a personal interest in the subject and have read scientific tomes on the subject , however this explains a complicated subject in an engaging and easy to read way . The recipes and food lists at the end also seem sensible and not full of specialist foods or ingredients like many books these days

I read a hard copy of this book on the 3rd October. It was fascinating. Very inclusive of ideas to look after and maintain your gut microbiota. Lots of details on how you can help yourself not only with diet, but exercise and yoga and some spaces for you to write your findings with your body - there are links to online questions to help you decide any problems. Some of the common gut food intolerances are covered and there is a section of interesting recipes.

I originally gave only 2*s as the netgalley copy was diificult to read. After reading 'the real thing' I'm changing that to 4.5*s, my only criticism being the cutting out of meat - I couldn't do this.

I read a free advance review copy from Netgalley. This review is voluntary, honest and my own opinion.

I had the opportunity to read a pre-release copy of this book through netgalley. . I found ubd what I read to be interesting and liked that, as someone who has live with IBS long term, some of the suggestions were things I’d discovered worked for me so it will hopefully help some who are newer to heir diagnosis.

Thank you for the opportunity to review a sample of the full book.

Eat Yourself Healthy on the sample I received seems to be a great book to support people with poor gut health. The formatting wasn't the best, which was a shame as the bits I could read definitely seems to make sense.

When it is released I would recommend it to my sister who suffers from IBS.

The recipes, although only a few were included, gave me some good ideas.

Useful nutrition book with some nice recipes. A book I will dip in and out of rather than read from cover to cover. Thanks for letting me review this book.

I received a VERY short sample of this book to review - so I feel that it's somewhat unfair to consider my opinions as a reflection of what this book may be like after final publication.

With regards to the sample - the formatting is beyond horrendous. Sentences interwoven with each other meaning they make absolutely no sense. And then repeated statements and paragraphs. It's entirely impossible to understand and therefore decide on the quality of both the writing itself and the content.

For those parts that were in complete paragraphs - the writing seemed good and Ms Rossi does appear to have a pleasing voice and writing style. She writes with a real passion and interest in her subject although I'm not sold on her actual credentials for writing this book.

That's because I suffer from colitis - one of the two bowel diseases (the other being Crohn's disease). These are serious conditions that there are currently no known cure or reason for getting. Having read some of the ingredients contained in the few recipes in the sample, I couldn't even go within 6 feet of a lot of these types of food without serious consequences on my gut.

I can't say I'll pick up this whole book when it becomes available. Maybe that's based on my particular (admitedly fairly unique) circumstances - maybe not. It's hard to say.

This is only a sample so hard to review fully but from what I have read so far I felt it really spoke to me. Especially as I suffer with IBS and this is the first time I've read any kind of book which focuses on the gut health. Feel I have learnt some things and will get the full book.

Megan focuses on 4 areas for gut health - sleep, stress, exercise and of course diet. She discusses the impact these play on our gut health.

My only gripes are not with the book itself but 1. The formatting on kindle is awful, out of line on pages. Some paragraphs skipped then elsewhere.

2. Each chapter mentioned heading over to her website to complete the questionnaire I so wish this had been available!

As someone who has always been an avid reader of evidence based healthy eating, I have for sometime been convinced of the relationship between the brain and the gut. Scientists believe that this field may lead to exciting new branches of research.
Having made some small changes in my own diet a year ago, I have noticed a marked improvement in gut health and well-being, so am a firm proponent of the field of gut health. In Eat Yourself Healthy, Megan Rossi sees four areas as being key for good gut health: diet, sleep, tackling stress and exercise. What we didn’t understand until relatively recently is the impact these have on our gut microbiota. She describes seven principles of nutrition for the gut, diversity being key.
In her book, she gives links to her website for the reader to access several assessments to determine where their gut health is currently at and based on this, she presents a range of tools and strategies for each individual to formulate their own evidence-based gut health action plan. A few recipes were included in the sample, which may not appeal to everyone, but in my opinion, even if only a few changes are made to our diet and lifestyle along the lines recommended, they are most definitely worth doing. There are so many cranky diet books out there, that I think it’s important for the messages in this book to be heard and repeated.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Penguin Books (UK) for the opportunity to read and review Eat Yourself Healthy by Megan Rossi.

This was the first time I have read a book like this and I must say I found it very informative ,easy to read and understand. I really liked the recipes provided. I did have issues reading it on my Kindle , I think the paper version would be better.

This is a really helpful book and gives you good advice and help on how to look after your gut and personal wellbeing. Well worth a read.

Although this was a sample, Eat Yourself Healthy appears to indicate a holistic approach backed by current thinking in gut health and general nutrition, as well as exercise. Having all this information in one place is very useful in a reference book. The recipes seem to be orientated to the more motivated reader, rather than appealing to general family use. But the application of the concepts and nutrition in it with a family prepared to apply themselves are likely to benefit their general health.

Thank you to Penguin Books U.K./Penguin Life for a sample via NetGalley of Dr. Megan Rossi’s ‘Eat Yourself Healthy’ in exchange for an honest review.

Rossi’s focus is upon gut health and improving your diet to promote good GM (gut microbiota). She writes: “I want to create a safe place to learn about the gut that’s all about keeping it real by sticking with the evidence.”

The text includes common sense advise on topics such as dealing with the symptoms of IBS and bloating, and improving gut health through healthy sleep and exercise practices. She also includes a number of recipes and meal ideas.

As this sampler was only 50 pages compared to the complete book of 304 pages, I cannot comment on the entire book. However, from what I saw it seems a useful guide.

This book promises a good balance of informative medicine based facts on eating healthily along isn’t recipes and advice on how to implement the advice . I enjoyed the basis of the book reviewed although I encountered issues with the kindle version format received for review via Net Galley . However I am sufficiently interested to obtain a copy of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to review.
