Okay this book flat out scared me!!! I truly did not see the end coming at all. I would recommend this for people who like being scared but has to read to find out what happens next. What a great story this was. I only could read it during the day though:) Great story and looking forward towards more of Ruth's books.

This is one of those books you can't wait to pick up again because you must find out what's going to happen next, I was totally engrossed. Katie, the main character is very naive, can someone be so naive? Maybe if someone is a master at manipulating, I suppose they can. As the story went on I found it to be a tad unrealistic, although having said that I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

The first half was of this book was absolutely engrossing. However, the plot just got crazier and crazier and it disappointed overall. The heroine was beyond stupid and naive and the writing dribbled off into nothing, A real disappointment to what I had originally thought would be a marvelous read.

This book was very well written. Nice and easy to read and flowed well. Had me on the edge of my seat. Wondering which way it was going to go. Great mystery can’t beat it.

This was definitely a thrilling book to read that I finished it in a few hours. Good storyline in that you can’t trust anyone but at times I was rolling my eyes thinking how could a mother let a woman into her life that she knows nothing about?! It was too cliche for me but definitely a roller coaster of a ride. Alot of twists and turns. Would probably recommend. Thank you netgalley for letting me give an honest review of this book.

Oh........my.........goodness what a roller coaster of a read, just brilliant, full of twists and turns and I was gripped from the first page, a brilliant addictive psychological thriller.

After reading Ruth's first book I didn't think she could get any better but she certainly does, this book has great characters with a nail biting and edge of seat ending. I have no hesitation in recommending this addictive page turner.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this fantastic book and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

A gripping domestic mystery thriller.

Katie is expecting twins with her wealthy boyfriend Ian. She moves into her new home and looks forward to start her new life as a mother.
Ian is always busy and traveling when Katie needs him the most, a chance encounter leads Katie to meet Paula, a local doula who offers her help.

Soon after strange things start happening and Katie is left not knowing what and who to trust anymore.
A gripping read with a surprising twist at the end.

Thanks Netgalley, Bookouture, and author Ruth Heald for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Katie is pregnant - the father and her are not yet in a serious relationship. At a dinner with her mum, sister, Melissa, and Ian (the baby's father), Katie blurts out the news. She has been a flat mate with Amy and a couple others for ten years and works as a barista. Amy is her best friend. Ian is 53 (to Katie's 36) and the director of a property business - seems to be wealthy! He was delighted at the pregnancy. Melissa and her husband have been doing IVF for 10 years with no luck. Jealous?

Six months later, Katie moves into the house that Ian had bought. Posh neighborhood. But the place is a dump! Garbage, rats, mold, ceilings falling... And she is pregnant with TWINS, Katie had found out. She does not have money for a hotel. She goes across the street to a pub and meets Paula, who offers a flashlight and her going into the house with Katie. Where is Ian? She finally gets ahold of him, and he is there for her shower, having had SOME of the house fixed up. The reader finds out that Paula is a doula - type of midwife who ingratiates herself into Katie's life. Like a leech. Ian is rarely around and at the time of birth he is in Thailand. A full week after a horrendous labor, Ian waltzes into the house.

Ian and Paula vie for the babies' (and Katie's) attention. After a few more instances, Katie realizes she cannot rely on or trust Ian. She tells him to leave. He does...

And this is only the beginning of a book that will leave you spellbound!!!

Many Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a wonderful read!

Katie is expecting twins with her property developer boyfriend Ian. Looking forward to moving in with him after he sorts out a care home for his mum who has dementia she is very excited to start this new chapter in her life. As Katie is moving into her new home she meets the local doula Paula who offers to help Katie settle in with her new babies. This book didn’t really grab me so it took quite a while to read because I didn’t feel compelled to pick it up. I found the main character very weak and irritating and the tense parts of the book not that tense.

Your Guilty Lies by Ruth Heald is another thoroughly engrossing read from an author who is quickly becoming one of my favourites. I cannot think of a single thing that I did not love about this book. Brilliant.

Katie is expecting twins with her loving and doting partner, Ian. Everything seems to be falling into place as the pair eagerly await the birth of their daughters. But Ian's thriving property development business often keeps him away from home, at a time when Katie could most use his support. A chance meeting at a coffee shop introduces Katie to Paula, a local doula, who offers to look after Katie in a professional capacity while Ian is unavailable. When a series of strange happenings begin to occur, Katie begins to question just how much she can trust those who are closest to her.

This is a compulsive and addictive read from the word go, and I simply devoured it. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.
