At times heart wrenching, but heart warming in the end., this is definitely a worth while read. A story of sisters who live through a damaged childhood, Tragedy strikes time and again, secrets are buried deep. and cause misunderstandings. Spanning 2 continents and concentrating on 22 years, this book covers a lot of ground, a lot of emotion and forgiveness..

Good Girls was a decent book. It took me awhile to get through it. It was the story of a woman and her relationships with the most prominent people in her life. I received an ARC from Netgalley and this is my honest review.

This was a beautifully evocative book with characters that drew you in from the start. I’m loathe to give any spoilers so I’ll keep this brief.

Eleanor and Kat are sisters with a difficult relationship. Early on there is an email from Nick and this begins our dual timeline, dual location story, Each character is beautifully written and the relationships between them are meaningful and carefully described.

I enjoyed this book and will recommend it to others as a well written, charming and interesting story. Special shout out to the character of Trevor- I thought he was perfect.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my copy of this book.

The depth—the beauty—of this evocative story is almost too difficult to encapsulate. 'Good Girls' explores the complexities of life and love in its many forms. Without revealing too much, this story is about the growth of a damaged woman, Eleanor, that had endured years of heartache, apathy, and loss. It is about a self-doubting man, Nick, questioning the choices that he has made and forcing himself to wonder if choosing the path of least resistance was worth it in the end. It is about the bonds of sisterhood between Eleanor and Kat: the rivalry, the envy, the loyalty, the pride, the understanding, and the love... Enough. Simply put, this book is superb.

I can't recommend this story enough. 5+ stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Amanda Brookfield for an ARC of 'Good Girls' in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC.
This is a wonderful book, I enjoyed it a lot. It tells the story of the Keating family who has moved to the country from London in the 1980's The father, Vincent, is a priest and his wife Connie is unhappy with the move. Their two daughters, Kat and Eleanor are close; Kat the spitting image of her beautiful mother, whereas Eleanor takes after her father. She's a big, ungainly girl who looks after her little sister and adores her.
Sadly, the two girls are no longer close as grownups. In the present, Eleanor finds out Kat has had a tumor removed and visits Kat and her family, an uncomfortable meeting. Kat is contacted by an old friend of theirs, a doctor who's now living in Cape Town with his wife and two daughters. This contact is the start of an uncomfortable remembrance of Eleanor's college years, with subsequent painful memories and much soul searching.
It's hard for me to continue without spoilers, but I can say I adored this book; it's sad, it's thought provoking and ultimately very uplifting. A lovely read that I recommend highly.
