This wasn’t the book for me unfortunately. I couldn’t give it a chance as a result. And no full review...

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

I've heard so much good about Carrie's book, so this was my first read of her and unfortunately I had to put this book down, as it just wasn't gripping me.

This one wasn't really for me. I didn't feel like I could relate to Luna at all! I get that everyone can have bad experiences and poor mental health regardless of class or financial status, but for her to just drop in that she could afford a whole row of houses and have money left over, when people in that community are probably living in poverty, and then not mention it again at all felt very off. The thing of her assuming she wouldn't be able to afford a house might have been supposed to make her endearing but it just did the opposite. It made her seem completely naiive and unaware of how the world works! The whole book is about how Luna 'needs' to write her next book to satisfy her agent and get her life back on track and how miserable she is, but with that money she could've taken as much time out as she needed to get better somewhere far less remote and with much better access to support networks and therapy!

I liked Beau but the character relationships weren't that compelling. The only thing that motivated me to finish the book was the fantasy element of the time reset. I was intrigued by the idea and it was executed cleverly, but I didn't think the climax of 'we need to get everyone off the island' was very exciting or satisfying at all.

I have really enjoyed all of Carrie's previous work on some level but this one was a real shame!

I really wanted to like this book as I really like the author Carrie Hope Fletcher. However I found In The Time We Lost a real struggle and really had to push !used to finish it. I just found the plot very unbelievable and the characters unrelatable.

Please note that this book is not for me - I have read the book, However I had to DNF and because i do not like to give negative reviews I will not review this book fully - there is no specific reason for not liking this book. I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for the opportunity to read this book

I love time travel books but this one was just... urgh. I found multiple spelling and grammar errors - did anyone edit this book? It just wasn't good. Well, what I read of it wasn't good, I couldn't finish it.

I was interested in reading this book, because I had followed the author on YouTube when I was younger, and had hear about her writing. Unfortunately, this wasn't for me. I didn't get very far into the book, purely because I didn't particularly like the main character. I may pick up books of hers in the future, but this one isn't a story I wanted to continue.

I'm not a big fan of time travel books, and while this book isn't exactly that, for me it falls into a very similar category. It was sweet, but not a style that gripped my attention. However it was well-written, the characters quite realistic and the most interesting part was the way they reacted to their predicament.

This book was a brilliant read and one that is perfect to escape for a few hours and loose yourself.
Characters that fall out of the pages of the book and make you fell apart of the story, the setting is lovely and captured well with words.
A great read. that I would highly recommend.

This was unexpected but magically and lovely. Carrie has a way with words that are whimsical and i love the way she writes magic into ordinary. The ending surprised me but it was nice to have something that i didnt see coming. I am a huge fan of her books and this was another brilliant read.

I enjoyed this book although not my favourite by Carrie.
The storyline is good and it’s easy to read however would have maybe preferred it set in a ‘real’ island of Scotland.
Characters are easy to like
An enjoyable read

This book is different to my usual reading material but I actually quite enjoyed it once I got the jist of what was actually happening

I actually DNF'd this book but I read a good portion of it so that's why I'm still giving some feedback.

It wasn't a bad book, I just found the writing to be a bit bland. One of the main things that drew me to the book was that it was set on a fictional Scottish island and I'm trying to read more books set here (Scotland, my home), but the setting and characters didn't really have a Scottish vibe to at all so that was a bit disappointing. I found that the characters were a bit flat too.

The biggest issue I had with the book though was that the whole Groundhog Day aspect of it just wasn't my cup of tea and had I known about that aspect of the plot I probably wouldn't have read the book (the synopsis doesn't really make it clear that the magical element of the book is a time loop). That was the reason I gave up on the story, if time loop fiction was more my kind of thing I probably would've stuck with it.

Overall it's a sweet book, just not for me and I just wish the synopsis was a little bit clearer so I knew better what I was getting into with the story.

I have generally mixed feelings about this book, it is a wonderful concept for a story. A unique, heartwarming story. All the way through you want to connect and empathise with Luna, but in my personal opinion there was a slight disconnect between the characters and the story - they seemed a little flat, a little one dimensional. The story telling is a little different in pace and tone to what I am used to, however for the plot alone I am rating this 4. :)

I have just finished 'In the Time We Lost' and I can't quite pin point my feelings towards it. I got really hooked on the story and was really rooting for Luna and Beau the entire way through. I loved the actual plot of the story and haven't read anything like that before which is the beauty of Carrie Hope Fletcher's magical realism. I think I was just left a bit shocked by the bitter-sweet ending (as I am with all of Carrie's books) but that 100% won't stop me from reading whatever she writes next!

Thank you NetGalley and Little Brown Books for the review copy!

The premise of this book was wonderful, and I love Carrie’s ability to write magic in the real world. However the middle of this book felt a little rushed, and the magic felt over as soon as the reader had chance to understand what was happening. A solid ending though!

I really enjoyed this book, I love all of Carries books, and just like all the others this was no exception.

It doesn’t have the most engaging plot, but it’s just a nice easy read that you can get lost in.

I loved the concept of the story and found the characters really loveable.

As a huge fan of time loop fiction, I was thrilled to be given an advance review copy of ‘In the Time We Lost’. Unfortunately, I quickly became disenchanted with the main character of Luna Lark and I found the time loop element really confusing. I understood what Carrie Hope Fletcher was creating with this slice of magic realism but felt too old to engage with some of Luna’s decisions and think it would have worked really well as a YA read. Thank you for the ARC and the opportunity to step into Luna’s world.

Luna Lark used to love her name, before people started saying it differently. I'm sorry Luna, are you okay Luna? Now Luna is taking back control and starting agin in the most remote place she could find, Ondingside. A little island with no more that 150 residents. Luna is hoping to finish her latest novel, get back to normal and maybe even find love. Then on her first day in Ondingside, a freak July snow fall freezes the town. Snowed in the town stands still. Can Luna break out of the monotony and do what she came to do?

Carrie's books always seem to land in my life when I need them the most and this one was no different. Her writing seems to improve more and more with each book that she writes and this is one of my favourites.

Carrie's books are always filled with magical realism which I am starting to like a whole lot more. I loved this element throughout this story. All of it felt so real and didn't take me out of the story or make me thing it was all made up.

Luna, Beau and Wendy were all excellent characters that I adored reading about. All of them were well developed and were memorable. I loved all the secondary character that Carrie created and how each one of them had a well developed background and story.

I flew through this book in a matter of days as it is so easy to read. Although this book has repetition it didn't get repetitive and felt extremely fast-paced. I would love to see a sequel to Luna's story and what happens in Ondingside even from another character's perspective.

Overall, In the Time We Lost is a romantic, sweet and magical read that is very easy to fly right the way through. It is a lot of fun!
