I also read the other before this book.. Again He did not Let me down. I love J. D. barker books.. the book was outstanding. I would reccommend reading all three books. suspense and an awesome read.

Absolutely fab book! Part of a series I have followed since the 4th monkey! I couldn't put it down. The characters are well developed and have a depth to them that makes them real to me, almost!

The Sixth Wicked Child by JD Barker is the final installment in a trilogy. Wow! This was superb storytelling. This is the trilogy to end all trilogies. The three books in the story about Sam Porter, a detective, and the Four Monkey Killer, better known as 4MK, are probably my favorite series I’ve ever read. This book tied up all the loose ends and blew my mind. Things were revealed that I could not have even imagined. What I thought was true in other books in the series were not necessarily so in this case. The book tied up all the loose ends and blew my mind. A brilliant conclusion to a brilliant series. With the tension and intrigue building page by page, I was unable to put the book down, finishing the hefty tome in a matter of days. JD Barker has yet to but a foot wrong and this book was no exception. with each book in the series getting more twisted and the plot dragging you down deeper and deeper. This was a great read.

I am literally dizzy after finishing this book! And I mean that in the best possible way. My only regret is that I didn't reread the first two right before starting this one as of course I couldn't remember all the characters. But once again I was drawn in immediately as the pace is like being on the biggest roller coaster imaginable! I particularly loved the chapters of Bishop's diary entries as they piece together what happened in the past and connect it to the present. How Barker kept all these details straight is a mystery in itself; I understand how (in the author's note) he needed to keep post-it notes all over the house as this is such a multi-layered novel that I couldn't read much in one sitting as my head was full! And like many of his fans, I too, hope those notes in the little white boxes will re-surface as another novel as you can never get enough of 4MK!

This was such an amazing read that I couldn’t put it down. It went everywhere with me. To the doctors office, the dentist, the eye doctor. IT WENT ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE. I was so sad when it ended that I immediately went and bought more books from this author!

Oh what a wickedly wonderful book. I read along and I go "I know who did it, then nope now I don't. then you read on and you are positive you know who dod it and again you were wrong! this is a pretty good size book so you have lots of time to play arm chair detective and I hope you have better luck than I did. After reading the first two books in this trilogy, I was excited to begin the final instalment of Barker's 4MK series.

I had to bare in mind that it was quite some time ago that I started the series, and hoped I'd be able to get a recap and refresh of the story so far when starting this one.

Unfortunately I don't think the author really considers the gap between his book releases and to say I struggled to get to grips with who was who and where the story had got to is an understatement!

I read well over half, hoping it would hook me back in like the other two books, but I wasn't getting the enjoyment from it that I'd hoped for. I'm so disappointed, but I had to call this a day because I'd simply lost the plot!

The best part of this was the diary format sections in the voice of Anson Bishop, I could of read an entire book based on this alone.

I felt that the book lacked the refresh required to improve my reading experience. It was so long and drawn out, it could easily of been cut down by a few hundred pages. The size of it was daunting and this also added to my reading displeasure.

I absolutely LOVE all the other Barker books I've read, 5 staring them and feeling utterly engrossed by his writing style and characters. This one just didn't work for me, to the point where I've lost interest in finding out the conclusion.

I am still rating this as 3 stars as I read enough to fairly review it, I just think this was a case of 'it's not you, it's me.

Wow! What an ending to this masterful trilogy. As excited as I was to finish this book I was also dreading it to be over. This story had me constantly guessing who was telling the truth and who was lying. It had me holding my breath as the final scenes played out. One of the best series out there! Wow what a brilliant read. Such a lot to take in. A long book in over 600 pages but not a breath wasted.

You'll need to remind youself of how the previous one ended as this takes off from there at such a high speed.

As the book progresses, the true story (or at least what we are lead to believe is the true story) unfolds, and most (not quite all) of your assumptions go out the window. Then you get to what think is the final twist, and a couple more come thick and fast.

Well written, a journey or two that obviously took a lot of planning, breath taking and wonderful.

The conclusion of JD Barker's trilogy was just as thrilling as the second book. Building up on the cliffhanger, I was taken by the premise and could not let go until days later when I reached the end, which was unexpected, although not completely satisfactory.
I am definitely expecting the next book from Barker to be another page-turner, and with as much character development as this one.

If you haven't read any books in this series, do not attempt to read this one as your start. You will be confused and totally not understand what's going on.

How bittersweet it is that this trilogy has ended. After three years Barker concludes the Anson Bishop trilogy but he also left the reader wondering if there could possibly be one more book!!

A good conclusion to the 4MK series. A ton of twists and turns and often times I would be reading and I would not be sure I was following it correctly only to then realize I was. For me, I liked the first two in the series a lot more, maybe because the story was fresh at that point. Still a good read but I seem to not have liked it as much as most of the other reviewers.

I enjoyed this book but did find the flicking around a little hard to follow sometimes. This is probably more to do with me than the author as i have had a busy week.

I enjoyed the characters and the story.

I re-read the second book in this series before jumping into the third, because it had been a few months and I couldn't really remember where the second book left off. I think I would have been incredibly lost and confused if I'd just jumped right into the third in the series. There are multiple narrators to keep track of, with their own plot lines, and you have no idea who to trust. I loved the book, and I'd recommend the whole series very highly to anyone who enjoys thrillers and suspense novels. I was even satisfied with how Barker chose to end the story, which is a rare occurrence for me at the end of a series.

The final book in the 4MK trilogy starts right from where the second book ended. And what a book this is! Fast paced and thrilling. And the bodies just keep piling up. The story is addicting. I just had to keep reading to find out what was going on. The book is long and there are so many threads to the story that I found myself wondering if everything could be wrapped up. Fortunately the answer is yes. The ending was great. I have truly enjoyed my journey with Sam Porter and Anson Bishop.
I can highly recommend this trilogy for anyone who likes excellent thrillers. I look forward to reading more from the author.

This is a 4MK thriller and the last one in the trilogy. I found the characters interesting and at times complex in nature though I did get a little lost going backwards and forwards between them all. Perhaps I could have kept up if I had read the earlier books in the series. At times it felt like I was reading several books at once which wasn’t a bad thing. I wanted to keep reading in order to find the answers to all my questions. The authors note was very thought provoking and I was interested in his wondering if a serial killer could be made.
If you love crime, serial killers and being kept guessing to the end this is sure to be the book for you!

Whew! What a complicated read! Lots of names, dead bodies, and timeline shifts. People aren’t who or what you think they are. Good people are bad and bad people are (sort of) good. Don’t even try to read this if you haven’t read the two preceding 4MK books. Still, overall, a fitting ending to the trilogy. Sadly, in the Author’s Notes, Mr. JD Barker wrote that he was saying goodbye to these characters. Sam Porter is such a fascinating figure that surely has many more stories left to be told. I know I would read them! JD did hint that all of his “thousands of Post-It notes” would be saved (in a little white box tied with black string) and maybe one day he’ll give them another look. All we can do is hope!

I had deliberately not started this one until I knew I would be able to devour it in one sitting. After the first two books in this series, I knew that this would be one of those of reads and I am so glad I did. This is a long book, however, the pace was fast, punch, after punch. I would hate to be inside the mind of JD Barker, how he came up with this plot and remembered it, is beyond comprehension. Every wall in his house must have been covered in post-it notes and charts to even remotely keep track. However, that plotting, bore fruit, a bountiful harvest of crime thriller addictiveness that I couldn't put down, in fact, I'm running on only a few hours sleep.

This was a conclusion I never saw coming, and that ending. OMG!! The ending!! I can see why we had to wait a year, but hell, I would have waited longer for this gem. My jaw dropped on so many occasions as the twists kept coming. I usually have a fairly decent grasp on where things are going, but JD Barker totally hood-winked me throughout this book. But what a conclusion!!

JD Barker delivers the perfect conclusion, all threads tied up, new ones started, but all threads created one stunning crime thriller that I will never forget. This is one of those series I could read time and time again and never get bored. I'm sure I would find other little nuances that I missed in my haste to read this final installment. The temptation for the first time EVER to skip to the end was REAL! I was so desperate to see how this all ended, the build-up to the grand finale was evil torture in itself, I refrained, but it didn't stop the frantic page-turning that ensued as I lapped up every, single morsel.

The 4MK killer is leaps and bounds ahead of the police, always has been, but this man has plotted and schemed for a long time to pull off the perfect serial killer spree with seemingly little repercussion. 4MK is clever and conniving, highly intelligent, the police and the CIA are his puppets and he is definitely pulling all the strings, all the way to the bitter end. Sam Porter seems to be drowning in all things 4MK and maybe this is the one case that will break him. Sam doesn't know who to trust, even his own mind at times and all this leads to one heart-stopping finale.

4MK and Sam Porter were formidable adversaries but every single character was well fleshed out and as their backgrounds and intertwined pasts are gently eeked out throughout this book, each puzzle piece slowly locks firmly into place. The Fourth Monkey and The Fifth to Die were the edges of this gazillion piece puzzle and this 600+ page beauty is all the middle.

I'm still astounded by this authors talent, what an intricate story to deliver while keeping the reader's attention throughout. Every single thing was perfectly delivered and expertly crafted. There are not enough superlatives to explain just how amazing this series is and I am so jealous of anyone picking it up for the first time. This is definitely my all-time favourite crime thriller series and I will continue to shout it from the rooftops. If you love this type of read, then this series is definitely a must. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Bravo, JD Barker. You nailed this series.
