This is a Dr Adam Fawley novel based in Oxford. The steady introduction of the characters in the first part of the book was a stroke of absolute genius; effortlessly written and it grasped your attention instantly. It’s a topical, controversial plot which vividly exposes the ignorance and intolerance of society towards differences in others. I’m at a complete loss after reading the novel how discriminating and evil people can be towards vulnerable people in our diverse society. It made my blood boil. What is the matter with people? A small point is that the maps and insertions could not be discerned on a Kindle. Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Books UK.

All the Rage is Book 4 in the DI Adam Fawley Series. Whilst I came into the series without previously reading the other three books, I was able to catch on easily and I am very much looking forward to reading the others in this series.

One night Faith Appleford is found on the outskirts of Oxford after she has been attacked by someone and a plastic bag put over her head. Miraculously she escapes, but doesn't want to press charges. DI Fawley investigates but Faith doesn't want to report it to the police and they are forced to drop it. Then another girl disappears and Adam is left with no choice but to face up to his past.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the author kept me guessing right up until the end with this one and I highly recommend it. It had all the aspects I have come to appreciate with a good thriller/mystery/crime novel and I very much appreciated the author's ability to give clues in order for me to try and piece the story together.

Crime isn't always the first genre that I turn to, however this book is absolutely fantastic. Captivating and absorbing, I found myself unable to put it down.

This is the 4th book in the Adam Fawley series, the 3rd book being rather poor I nearly didn’t bother reading the next one.
However I was pleasantly surprised, the book started strong and I liked the first little twist. The layout of the book was great with tweets, articles etc (although some were quite shocking) and I enjoyed the story line.
I guessed part of the ending and I was happy with it. It was a good steady read.

All The Rage is the fourth DI Fawley book by Cara Hunter. I haven’t read the previous three books and it didn’t affect my enjoyment of this fantastic novel at all. Set in Oxford, DI Fawley and his team investigate what appears to be a hate crime against a young person. When another teenager goes missing, questions are asked about a previous case DI Fawley worked on due to unexplainable similarities. If the perpetrator of the previous attacks is now in prison, did they actually convict the right man or is a copycat responsible?
This story is told at relentless speed and engages you throughout. It kept me guessing with many twists that were not far fetched or unbelievable. I will certainly be reading the previous novels and any future DI Fawley books.

I'm a huge fan of Cara Hunter and I have read all of the books to date so I was really excited to get and ARC of her latest book All The Rage.

DI Adam Frawley is called the investigate after a teenage girl, Faith Appleyard is found wandering the streets in Oxford in a very distressed state after having been abducted and having a plastic bag put over her had and assaulted at an isolated location. The attacker pulled hair from her head and Adam Frawley realises the attacker has the same MO as Gavin Parry, a sexual predator that DI Frawley put away and who is still in jail but has always protested that DI Frawley framed him. After another girl Sasha, who hangs around in the same group as Faith, goes missing DI Frawley needs to find out if it is the work of a copy cat killer or is the real killer still at large.

All The Rage is everything I've come to expect from Cara Hunter and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through and I think it is her best book yet!!!!

This is book 4 of a series but can be read as a stand-alone; which is what I did. This is a complex and twisted tale with multiple threads. Based around a group of teenagers, violent assault, a detective and his team and the trappings of phones, internet and social media.
The book set the pace from the very beginning with an event so shocking it had me invested. The storyline tackled many serious issues such as violent crime, sexual assault, emotional and physical abuse, transgender issues, peer pressure and manipulation, friendships, envy and accountability.

This started off a bit slow for me, but once I got into it, I really enjoyed the storyline. There are lots of twists and turns keeping you guessing, and wanting to keep reading on. Modern thriller/horror story, definitely worth a read.

I loved this book and it wasnt at all what I expected. Obviously you start something with an idea of what will happen especially in these sorts of books but every chapter I was changing my mind. It completely kept me on my toes and i loved it. The format with different inserts was a great addition and added a lovely break between large bit of information or chapters. I will be reading more cara hunter for sure

Absoluter cracking story by Cara Hunter, Easily the best thriller I've read in the last twelve months. Cleverly written with a terrific sense of pace and a storyline that is astutely plotted, as well as believable characters and crackling dialogue. No negatives at all, so do yourself a favour and read this book.

This was a fantastic book, which I read through within a few days. Even though I hadn't read the previous book in the series, it was easy to follow the plot, warm to the characters and become engrossed in the story. Will be buying the first book as well now.

Cara Hunter's books were my find of 2018, i picked up the 1st of the Fawley series "Close To Home" in a random Sainsburys while getting snacks for the long journey home from Southend to West Yorkshire.


I devoured the whole book on that journey and was googling for more before we pulled up to our home, surprised that what i had read was a debut I was happy to see the second was due for release and from here my love for this series, these characters and this authors style of writing snowballed.


So I was very much looking forward to getting stuck in to the 4th in the series and "All The Rage" did not disappoint.


It is absolutely possible to read any of the series as a stand-alone, but personally if you have not read any before I suggest you grab them all and settle in as your in far a treat.


In "All The Rage" 15 year old, Faith Appleford, is the victim of an abduction, grabbed from the street, a bag placed over her head, hands cabled ties thrown in a vehicle, later she is found distressed walking on the side of the road, she does not want the police involved refuses help, but why?


When another young girl goes missing the spotlight is turned not only to Faiths case but the that of an earlier cases from 1999 of the so called Roadside Rapist a case which Fawley was involved in. With the convicted man claiming his innocence from behind bars and the similarities almost to clear between the old and the new cases the team and Fawley himself are in for some tough questions.


Its is difficult to go through much more of the story as a spoiler free blog but I have to say how well certain aspects in this book were written and handled with sensitivity particularity those around gender reassignment.


Of course I love Adam Fawley as a character and I really enjoyed seeing a little bit more of his life and the love for his wife, the twists surrounding there relationship left me reeling they have been through so much too much yet remain strong.


Of course, Gislingham who is fitting his new role well, Somer, Everett both sharp and yet sensitive and initiative and Quinn still having his moments but even with him you see the growth in how this team has developed they all make the story too.


I love the authors writing style, we are pulled along with the team as the investigate and uncover information but the added details are so unique and add a real visual it like your doing this with them, written interviews, maps, police reports, emails, news reports, snippets of social media and even phone calls are added to blend with the way this case hurtles to its conclusion


There are some real shocks and twists as the case comes to an end and It twist that I did not see coming which left me thinking both What the hell! and questioning my own computer and Netflix history (ha!) and the final pages I was not ready for that oh my god!, what a set up for the book 5.


"All The Rage" just cements Cara Hunter as a master in this genre, with the thrilling and shocking twists to the modern and engrossing Investigative style pulling you in. You can not fail to read and finish a Cara Hunter Book without thinking wow!


I as always cannot wait for the next from this author, and with the ending of this book tantalising us with the horrors in-store for book 5 "The Whole Truth" the publication date cannot come soon enough!

This is book four featuring DI Adam Fawley and set in a somewhat different aspect of Oxford than that other famous detective Morse gave us. But don't mistake different with inferior in any way.

The plot in this book is about a stalker and his victim and as with all the author's previous books it has a feel of being bang up to date in both terms of subject matter as well as the finer details which lends the book a fresh feel.

Multiple viewpoints and the gentle weaving of the investigator's back stories means that the plotting needs to be spot on to work, and it is!

If you haven't read any of the series I would urge you to read Close to Home followed swiftly by the next three; you are in for a treat!

On choosing this book to read, I didn’t realise it was a part of a series and thought perhaps it would be hard to get into. I was wrong and this book is most definitely a must read.

The whole book was gripping and quite simply edge of your seat material. I think it is great movie material.

I will now make it my business to read every book in this series.

Great story with lots of twists and turns, I love the Fawley series as it's set on my home turf. I do however struggle to keep up with who all the police characters are.

Another excellent crime thriller from Cara Hunter! Edge of the seat storyline which kept me awake well into the night to find out what happened next.

This is book 4 in this series and the second book for me, I have now read book 2 and this one.
Initially, I was worried I wouldn't be able to follow along but that wasn't the case I think there is enough here that you can comfortably read this as a standalone novel.
Yes, there is some slight backstory revolving around DI Adam Fawley and his son's death but it is easily worked out and it didn't spoil my enjoyment having only read book 2 previously.
I am not going to go into the plot to extensively as I don't want to spoil this so will keep it brief.
This is a police procedural and a very good one, the story centres on DI Adam Fawley and his team just like previous books in this series.
Its told from a lot of different POV's but once you get into the swing of things it is fairly easy to follow along.
The story here is very tightly interwoven and keeps you guessing.
It's chock full of twists and turns and just when you think you've cracked it, it swiftly changes direction.
The conclusion to this was just wow and totally blindsided me coming completely out of left field and shocking the hell out of me, really didn't see that one coming at all.
This concluded to my satisfaction but it also set-up events splendidly for the next book in the series.
This was well written and had no issues keeping my attention throughout its a really great read that I would recommend.
