Great story with lots of twists and turns, I love the Fawley series as it's set on my home turf. I do however struggle to keep up with who all the police characters are.

This book is sort of part of a series. As in the main two characters are the same throughout the series but what they investigate, as police officers, is different with every book.

This is book 4 in the series and I felt it wasn't as good as the previous 3. There is very little character development of the other characters. Only of one of the main characters, DI Fawley. We also learn a lot more about his wife.

I felt that the story lacked any real progression or depth and it just seemed to a be a vessel to tell the story of how the DI and his wife met.

Having said all that, it has not put me off reading any more books in the series (if there are more) or from reading any other books by Cara Hunter who I only recently discovered. I do feel these books could be stand alone novels and don't necessarily have to be read in order.

Another excellent crime thriller from Cara Hunter! Edge of the seat storyline which kept me awake well into the night to find out what happened next.

This is book 4 in this series and the second book for me, I have now read book 2 and this one.
Initially, I was worried I wouldn't be able to follow along but that wasn't the case I think there is enough here that you can comfortably read this as a standalone novel.
Yes, there is some slight backstory revolving around DI Adam Fawley and his son's death but it is easily worked out and it didn't spoil my enjoyment having only read book 2 previously.
I am not going to go into the plot to extensively as I don't want to spoil this so will keep it brief.
This is a police procedural and a very good one, the story centres on DI Adam Fawley and his team just like previous books in this series.
Its told from a lot of different POV's but once you get into the swing of things it is fairly easy to follow along.
The story here is very tightly interwoven and keeps you guessing.
It's chock full of twists and turns and just when you think you've cracked it, it swiftly changes direction.
The conclusion to this was just wow and totally blindsided me coming completely out of left field and shocking the hell out of me, really didn't see that one coming at all.
This concluded to my satisfaction but it also set-up events splendidly for the next book in the series.
This was well written and had no issues keeping my attention throughout its a really great read that I would recommend.

In some senses, it’s hard to figure out what makes Oxford such a credible setting for murder mysteries and other police procedurals. If the real crime rate was a fraction that calculated from taking all the books and series as one, the tourist trade would have died off and few students would survive long enough to complete their degrees. On the other hand, it’s that very combination of short-term visitors, academics, and long-term ordinary residents that lends itself to such a wide range of imagined misdeeds. The cases in Cara Hunter’s novels are more likely to involve the latter class of inhabitants than either of the two former, and yet the misdeeds her protagonists investigate are anything but ordinary. And as for her characters’ personal lives, well, it’s a wonder they have time to keep track of everything else that’s going on around them.

Detective Inspector Adam Fawley is settling back into domestic bliss with his wife and daring to hope that her latest pregnancy will run according to plan, giving them the child they’ve longed for since the death of their son. He’s not told his colleagues as yet and has snuck off to attend an ultrasound scan, when the team’s new case is delivered to them. Faith Appleford, a popular teen fashion vlogger, has been found wandering in a state of confusion along a main road, showing every sign of having been kidnapped and assaulted. The report has not come from Faith or her family, however, but from the taxi driver who stopped to give Faith a lift home.

When Fawley and his team start to investigate, they find that Faith and her family want nothing to do with the case, and Fawley is particularly concerned because he’s strongly reminded of another case from earlier in his career in which several young women were killed or seriously assaulted. There was always a degree of doubt in some people’s minds as to whether the right man was convicted, and now a TV team are planning to do their own investigation into the evidence. When a second girl goes missing, the tension is really ramped up, and some members of Fawley’s team begin to wonder just how well they know both their boss and his conduct over that past case.

I enjoyed the twists and turns in this novel. As with previous books in the series, nothing is quite what it seems. Faith’s reticence to seek justice is very understandable, once the team learns more about her family’s past, and the motivations of those who set out to harm others, both in the flesh and online, are truly chilling at times. Red herrings abound, as they always do in this style of story, and some did detract a little from the main issues covered by the central plot. On the other hand, I found it as fascinating as ever to see how the different members of Fawley’s team reveal more of themselves as the series progresses and to watch the various areas of friction between them develop and, in at least some instances, resolve.

Not my favourite out of the series so far, but I’m keen to keep on reading about the central characters in DI Fawley’s life.

I was totally engrossed in this book, a gripping addictive read with a good balance between police procedures and background private lives. Not for the faint-hearted. Can't wait for the next book by this author.

The DI Adam Fawley series has easily established itself as one of my favourite detective series and the latest offering from Cara Hunter is just as brilliant as its predecessors.

In All the Rage a beautiful student, Faith Appleyard, is found on the road in a dreadful state by a taxi driver. She has been the victim of a horrific attack but was thankfully saved by the sound of a police siren nearby. Despite this she bizarrely does not want to report the incident to the police and when it comes to their attention she is unwilling to discuss anything or press charges. When another victim suffers a fatal attack it is up to DI Fawley and his team to solve both crimes. With his own set of problems both at home and in the shape of a huge demon from his past, can Fawley claw his way to the truth and keep his home life in tact?

There is so much brilliance in this novel with another excellently crafted storyline from Ms Hunter I am pretty sure that lovers of a good police procedural / crime thriller will devour it. She keeps things current and relevant and the plot twists and turns throughout keeping you utterly engaged. I also really enjoyed the further insight into Fawley’s character and past. Once more I am left chomping at the bit with anticipation for the next instalment in this excellent series.

This is book 4 in the DI Adam Fawley series and this was my first book and I loved it. 

This is a dark thriller and mystery book that had me on the edge of my seat all the way through.

I am going to read the first three books when I get a chance but please pick this up.

This is the fourth book in the series featuring DI Adam Fawley and his team at Thames Valley Police. Faith Appleford was attacked, abducted and taken to the local allotments where a sexual attack was foiled and she managed to escape. But when interviewed she refuses to report the incident and puts it down to an April Fool’s Day attack. The team are convinced she knew her attacker and are concerned that he may attack again. The attack reminds Fawley of a case he worked on a number of years previously. The man became known as the Roadside Rapist and was convicted of raping six young women and is still in prison now awaiting parole. The man always protested his innocence and claimed that Fawley framed him. A second young woman goes missing, could it be the wrong man was convicted? We learn more about Adam and his wife Alex who is pregnant with their second child (Jake, their elder son died before the series started). But we soon realise that their life has a big connection to the case. This is a gripping thriller and can easily be read as a stand-alone but I would certainly recommend reading the first three books. I look forward to the next book in this series.

D.I.Fawley is just sublime as a main character and policeman. The plot gives us a more in depth look at the man himself as he does his job finding out who is behind the terror. Twisted, chilling,tense and compelling

All the Rage by Cara Hunter is an excellent detective novel. The plot is intricate and interesting, covering various topical themes along the way like the impact of social media, transsexuality and suicide. I'm particularly impressed by the characterisation and the range of different personalities within the detective team and also within the families caught up in the investigation. Although it is obvious that this is one of a series, it holds its own to new readers. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a tense, fast paced detective mystery.

Gripping, complex, terrifying and mysterious. This book has it all. The characters are varied, baffling and irritating and reveal much about everyday family life as well as undercurrents of out of the ordinary.
The police investigation comes across as real, frustrating and even tedious at times. I had to make notes to help me unravel what was going on but if you like a fast paced, complicated police investigation you'll love this!
I haven't previously read Cara hunter and even though this is a stand alone novel I now want to read her other previous Adam Fawley novels.

Started reading this. I love all Cara Hunters books and I can’t wait to finish it. The best writer of thrillers. I love that the story continues and you get to see more about the characters through the books. The characters have such depth and the plots always have me guessing until the last minute. Enjoying every minute.

This was the 1st in the series I read, I wish I had read the earlier books first as I really enjoyed it.
Great twists & turn and kept you thinking you know where it’s going then surprises you.
Can’t wait to be more of this series.

A fascinating story that was too good to put down. Keeps you involved from start to finish as you unravel the characters and find the answers. Definitely recommended to those readers who enjoy reading this genre.

This is the first book buy Cara Hunter I have read and I was not disappointed. It took me a little while to get used to the different way we hear from each character, but once I'd gotten in to it I could tell who was 'talking' from the start of the chapter.
Great, engaging, and lots of questions asked throughout, kept me guessing.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Lots of twists and turns and red herrings. Some good procedural policing, very good characters and a believable story line. A really good conclusion which tied off all the loose ends. Great read!

Another winner from Cara Hunter! This is the 4th outing for DI Adam Fawley and his team, this time on the case of a girl who has been kidnapped and assaulted but does not want to make a formal complaint, for reasons that we soon learn. This is quickly followed by a murder of another girl, close by and with a similar modus operandi. There is an added dimension involving a case from 20 years ago that Fawley investigated, with some major professional and personal repercussions.

The plot is complex and tightly woven and as usual, all the characters are superbly drawn individuals portrayed with emotions and realistic speech. In particular, the police team are professional and sometimes intuitive, yet with all the flaws, crabbiness and fallibilities you get in real people. The ending was a revelation - the story had been a clever, twisty journey through many false leads and suspects but I didn't guess the truth until it was revealed.

The fourth outing for the Oxford based DI Adam Fawley police procedural series. A fast moving plot following the investigation into two separate attacks on two young girls. Are these the work of a copycat to a case Fawley solved 18 years previously as a DS? I particularly enjoyed Hunter's writing style, blending different character's POV with social media posts and court transcripts. With plenty of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages. Can a be read as a standalone but would recommend reading this compelling series in order.

I don't want to explain what this book is about as many people have already done so before, I would just be repeating their words.

I have read the other books in this series so I was looking forward to this one as the characters lives continue as they deal with new cases, I was interested to see what happened next in their lives and I was not disappointed.

The case in this book was hard at times as you never think that this will happen to you or somebody that you know. DI Fawley dealt with it really well as did the rest of his team. I was not expecting some of the twists and turns that Cara took us on but they really helped the book and knocked you off when you thought that tyou had worked everything out.

If you have not read this series before you really should. You don't necessarily have to read the other books first but it does help. I am really looking forward to the next instalment of this series, I hope that there is going to be another one. Well done Cara on another fantastic read. I would recommend this book and the others too. Very enjoyable with a few edge of your seat moments thrown in for good measure.
