A lost stuffed animal might finally heal his broken heart from the pain of his past. A heartwarming story about finding love once again.

This is the first in a new series and I like the idea of a second chance romance but it can be a had one to execute. Even harder, integrating a deceased third person. I can think of one book I read recently that executed it beautifully, but its a tough trope. I will heck out the other stories in this series.

💔💖 Sad, witty and fun – All the feels 💖💔

I loved this book! It’s been a while since I’ve read one of Ruth Cardello’s books and I’m kicking myself that I left it so long!!! She combines every kind of emotion from tears through laughter into just the sheer enjoyment of living a best life and letting go of the past.

I loved Heather’s friends, and Sebastian’s family. Those people had no issue with privacy and getting all up in the business of these two. The active, and I mean ACTIVE encouragement of these people whose heartfelt investment in the long term happiness of our couple, pretty much bordered on the stalking of the other person.

Heather is a courageous single mum to a gorgeous young girl, having adopted Ava when her best friend passed away unexpectedly after giving birth. She has the most amazing ladies in her life and everyone should have friends like Teri and Erica. Those two were hilariously in her corner, cheering her on and giving her reluctant self some out there sexual advice and a gentle hard shove when she needed it.

Sebastian in turn had suffered the worst of tragedies in losing his wife and unborn child in a car accident. His self blame and guilt hung like a heavy shroud on his shoulder, warding of feelings of empathy and love. In short, he was just cold. Meeting Heather and Ava was a shock to him for sure, and throughout the book his self-reflection proved that he knew he wasn’t perfect, even as he continued to mourn his lost love and almost family. Ms. Cardello wrote him beautifully right down to the memories invoked by the simple tasting of a chocolate chip cookie.

I love the dual POV romances, and in writing The Broken One, Ruth Cardello has written the sweetest of romances and put some serious naughty into it, making this story one awesome read.

Beneath this story is an undercurrent of family secrets, set in motion by a determined nine year old girl on a mission to complete her father’s family tree, in spite of the road blocks that adults put in her way. This thread will be fun to unravel as further books in the series are read. I’m looking forward to them. 4.5 Stars

Wow!!! I was just blown away by this book!!! It was my first Ruth Cardello book and I'm thinking were have I been on this lady, sleeping or something!!!???  I have so much catching up to do and if her other books are as wonderful as this one then I'm in for a real treat. This book had everything you could possibly want in it from mystery, romance, comedy and rip your heart out and bleed sadness.  I mean that's part of the perfection you look for in a book. Sebastian and Heather are absolutely amazing characters and I'm glad they found their way to each other. And what they both went through was devastating.  And Ava is absolutely adorable and I love her. And I cannot wait to see what Judy finds out and what all these secrets are about!!!! I need the next book asap!!!!! I highly highly recommend this book!!! 5 stars isn't enough!!!

This was my first book by Ruth Cardello and I'm finding this book difficult to review. I gave this book 3 stars mainly because there wasn't much I found memorable. It was an ok read: the characters were fine, the plot--fine, there just wasn't something that made it stand out from the hundreds of other books I have read in this genre. The author's writing/style is solid, it's just that I can't really remember anything that would make me recommend it to others. It was good; it just wasn't a stand out. I will, however, give this author another shot as I definitely see promise.

THE BROKEN ONE is the first book in the CORISI BILLIONAIRES series, and I can’t wait for more. Sebastian and Heather are front and center in this story, along with their families.

The story is told from Heather or Sebastian’s viewpoint as well as Judy’s. Judy is a nine-year-old, but it takes a while before we learn how her story is connected. There are a lot of plots going on. While they’re not seamlessly interwoven, there are connections.

There is an instant attraction between Heather and Sebastian, when he meets her reluctantly to return her young daughter’s stuffed animal. To her daughter, Ava, Sebastian is a hero. Whenever Heather and Sebastian meet, there seem to always be underlying issues which usually end badly for them both, yet they keep coming back for more.

Heather’s neighbor and her family add a nice touch of emotion. The addition of the kids and their rambunctiousness lend a bit of levity to the story.

The story flows smoothly for the most part, but Judy’s story appears in unexpected spots, and she’s too wise for her years. I would have enjoyed the story more if the swearing and heated moments could have been toned down a little. The epilogue is a nice touch to the story and gives Sebastian the closure he needs since he starts the book in a dark place. Sebastian has three brothers, and I’m hoping they will each get their own story.

Ms. Cardello is an author whose books I read periodically and always enjoyed. I’ve added some of her others to my always growing TBR pile.

The word that comes to mind when I read this book was cute and funny!!!!

Ruth Cardello is one of my favorite to-go authors and her new series "The Corisi Billionaires" starts off with "The Broken One", bringing Heather Ellis into the sights of billionaire Sebastian Romano. A lost teddy bear, an online ad, and a nudge from a meddling uncle gives this story such amazing warmth and captivating reading.

You'll fall in love with Heather and Sebastian as they try to navigate the path of love.

Oh my heart. I love when a book can cause me to feel emotional, and this one hit me on multiple levels. The loss and pain each of the characters felt devastated me. But their pain made the story that much better. I’m so sad that it’s over, I feel incomplete. I can only hope the next book continues to give more glimpses into the family!

I read this book very fast, It somehow seemed to me like I hasd read this story many times, and that Nothing felt different or original. It sometimes feels like the author is looking to find a perfect character, with absolutly no flaw, rich, gorgeous and all, that went throught some terrible experience. I felt far fetched...

Sweet!
Sebastian Romano lost his wife and unborn child five years ago, and since then he hasn’t been the same man. He turned into a money-making machine. The one store his father brought from Italy many years ago, Romano Superstore, has turned into an emporium, a chain of Moreno Superstores that swipe down in a new city and take over business, eliminating the small store owners. Sebastian has been ruthless in growing his father’s company and achieving financial success beyond what his father ever imagined. He has two brothers who were able to study without student loans, like he did. They are all wealthy, thanks to Sebastian’s hard work. And yet, he is a man with no joy in his life. That joy left him the day his wife and unborn child died in a car accident. So, every year, on the anniversary of their death, Sebastian gets drunk, turns into an insane grouch, and the next day, he closes it all down, hungover but determined to live another year, emotionless.
Heather adores her adopted daughter, Ava. She was there when Ava was born to her best friend and college roommate. When her friend died from birth complications, Ava was left in her charge. Sudden motherhood didn’t deter her career path, she developed her own accounting company and has a comfortable life with her daughter. On the day they lost Wolfie, Ava’s cuddle toy, the world as Ava knew it came to a screeching halt and she didn’t want to deal. Poor Heather was at her wits end, trying to deal with Ava’s heartbreak. A social media share, offering a reward for Wolfie’s return, caused Sebastian to return Ava’s beloved toy and brought Heather and Sebastian together.
With a hot chemistry between then but Sebastian’s reluctance to get over his loss and Heather’s reluctance to trust a man’s staying power, they were a breakup waiting to happen. Her neighbor and babysitter Erika was a very stubborn matchmaker, pushing Heather constantly to pursue a relation with Sebastian. On Sebastian’s side, his mother, father and three brothers were pushing all the time for him to find happiness again.

This was a fantastic and sweet love story about two lost souls who didn’t believe in love’s staying power. The family and friends around them were the ones who made the miracle happen. There’s an element of ruthlessness that Heather tempers into compassion in Sebastian that made me very happy. The plot about eliminating the small businesses with the arrival of a big store wasn’t a happy instance for me. There is a side plot that remains mysterious for now, and it involves an unknown branch of the Romano family. It’s very intriguing and I hope the connection is revealed soon. The story is entertaining, the characters are adorable, especially Ava, and the family dynasty plot in development is hugely intriguing. This is my first book with this author, and now I want more!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

I wanted to like this book, I really did.. but i had a hard time liking Sebastion overall.
The writing was done well. Heather was relatable.. but something was just lacking with Sebastion and the romance for me.

4.5 Stars for The Broken One book 1 in the new Christ Billioaires Series.
If this book is anything to go by Ruth Cardello has a new hit series on her hands, this book is a very emotional read as a young Judy Corisi try’s to work her family tree out and she comes across some very broken people. This is an emotional roller coaster that at times was a hard to read but I’m so glad I persevered with this story because I needed to see Sebastian and Heather get the HEA they deserved.
Two people who need to learn to trust again and take a leap of faith so they can mend and become one and let’s not forget the adorable Ava, Heathers beautiful daughter. A book with all the feels at times you will certainly feel as broken as the characters but there is light at the end of the tunnel and by the end of this book like the characters you will be put back together again. Looking forward to book 2 in this series.

I had hoped to like this one more. Frankly, I had a hard time with Sebastian. He was really hard to like at times and I struggled to connect with him.

A great start to a new series. This was a fun fast read that I was looking forward to reading. This story held my interest . Sebastian was a hard character to like at first but I quickly warmed up to him. I enjoyed Heather and Sebastian’s Story and am looking for more in this series.

The romance was very sweet and overall enjoyable, but I found the other plot lines somewhat distracting and wish we had been given more context.

This is a new to me author, I must say I was a bit confused, I felt like the story was all over the place. It took me a while to get into it. Once I did , I thought it was an ok read. I sa new series that I’m hoping that with the next books it gets a bit better. will be definitely be picking up more work from this author, even though I had a bit of a hard time, I stopped like the style of writing and can’t wait to see what else comes nexts from this series.

If you have read any of Ruth Cardello you will love this first book in this series. A extension of the Legacy series. What can you not like about troubled, rich, handsome men in conflict in love, business, family, emotions and history.

You can't go wrong picking up a Ruth Cardello book. The start of a new series featuring the Corisi brothers. A fiercely independent single mother, who would do anything for her child, a strong ruthless business man that has a heart but is torn with grief and a missing stuffed toy that unites them all.

A must-read story and i ant wait for the next in the series.
