Fabulous!!!!

This was a brilliant read and I wish I could have read it on holiday so I could have spent the day reading it non stop.
A great story line with believable characters.

Would thoroughly recommend.

A very captivating read.
This starts off in one full action plan BANG and doesn’t stop.

One new mother with a sad eventful past.
A secret known only to a few.

Is the mother going mad? Does she have PND? Is she paranoid? Or is she just tormented by her past.
Or....
Is it real.

She’s now left with her young baby and her husband leaves, he can no longer handle her “craziness”.

The event that happened has left another woman under suspect by police.

The way this is all written out takes you step by step through it all that makes the reader think.
Did she?
Didn’t she?
If she didn’t, then who in the heck did?

A babies life and happiness at stake leads the plot. Along with, why would this mother leave her daughter entrusted with a stranger. How did she know her name?

It was very interesting and got me quite hyped up in reading this, turning the pages eagerly to discover more.

It’s not perfect, but, the bits that didn’t work for me were minor. It kept its pace although at times I could have hurried it along. After saying that, the story was so intriguing that like I say, it was minor and only my own opinion.

I would definitely recommend it to my thriller book friends.

On a train platform, a woman hands her baby daughter to a stranger and asks her to look after and love her daughter. Then the woman jumps in front of an on coming train. Morgan is still coming to terms with the death of her embezzling husband when the woman pushes her daughter into her arms. But why did the woman choose her? And how did she know her name?

The story is told from Morgan and Nicole's perspectives. Nicole is the woman who jumped in front of a train. It's tops I the present day and the weeks leading up to Nicole's death. This is an emotional, twisty and fast paced read. I loved the ending to this story.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Headline and the author Samantha M. Bailey for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

OMG!!! What on Earth did I read? I’m just going to come out and say it….

I fluffing loved this!!!

What would you do if a stranger approached you, handed you their baby and then proceeded to jump in front of a moving train? Well, apart from being in severe shock of course! Funnily enough, Morgan didn’t quite know what to do either, yet there she was, standing on the platform with someone else’s baby in her arms.

‘Woman on the Edge’ is a psychological mind funk! We know WHAT happened, yet we dont know WHY. We know WHO the lady on the platform is, yet we dont know the name of the stranger or why they chose to do what they did. Would we ever know the truth? Are we only being told what we want to know?

The plot of this book is a very uncomfortable read and, like many things in life, there is a lot more to the story that meets the eye. Set in the present day as well as a couple of weeks prior, ‘Woman on the Edge’ focuses on the emotional side of being a new parent, as well as highlighting how past decisions have a way of coming back to bite you on the backside if not dealt with properly.

I sped through this novel like a dog on heat! I wanted to find out the truth and attempt to understand what exactly happened on that day on the platform. I wasnt expecting to be taken on a journey where I was left questioning every detail including my own name, however I will definitely take that as a good thing as it shows that the author, and her storyline, got right under my skin.

This is such an addictive, psychologically brilliant, complex and compulsive read that had mu jaw unhinged from the get go. I loved how the author created many suspenseful situations, racking up the intensity as she went. Everything about this book worked and the only thing I can say bad about it, was the fact the darn thing had to end!

Love, love, love!!!

Well I’m not sure if I can quite put into words how I feel after reading this book, it was so good and I’ve been left with a bit of a book hangover.

Morgan is on her way home from work and as she is standing on the platform waiting for her train she’s approached by a stranger who hands her a baby then jumps in front of a train.

After that shocking opening what follows is a very cleverly twisted thriller that seriously had me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages like they were on fire.

I couldn’t imagine what could drive someone to take their own life like that, why did this woman hand over her baby and why did she choose Morgan?

Set in the present day the author takes us back a number of weeks prior and focuses on the struggles of being a new mum and the emotional effect it can have but there’s so much more to this story and as the chapters alternate between the two women we see the decline of one and the struggle to prove the innocence of the other.

Woman on the Edge is a tense and quite uncomfortable read but oh boy is it gripping. With short chapters that often stop on a cliffhanger it was so easy to totally lose track of time and I ended up devouring this book. There were so many twists and turns I had to just keep on reading to find out what happened next.

I’m seriously struggling to find the words to describe this book without saying too much and spoiling it but it’s a must read for thriller fans. I was totally blown away when I found out this captivating, well plotted, edge of your seat, nail biting thriller is a debut novel and I cannot blooming wait to read more from this author, hopefully we won’t have too long to wait.

I will definitely be recommending Woman on the Edge, it was just blooming fantastic.

I raced through this psychological thriller. I enjoyed the way it was written and found it easy to read and despite going backwards and forwards it was easy to follow. It tackles some very hard hitting subjects so it may be hard to read for some people. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me engrossed the entire way through and constantly left me guessing what was going to happen next.

Morgan, still coming to terms with the death of her embezzling husband and the scandal he caused, is confronted by a bedraggled woman on a railway station. She thrusts a baby in her arms and tells her to look after her…….then the woman jumps in front of an oncoming train.

Why would she do this and how did she know Morgan’s name?

The story is told in chapters from both Morgan and Nicole’s perspectives, in the present day and the weeks leading up to the event at the station. Does she have postpartum depression or is the memory of events 19 years ago affecting Nicole more than she realises?

This really is an incredibly tense read, it really brings alive the panic and disorientation of Nicole and will leave you breathless. Emotional, fast paced and with some brilliantly twisty moments.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ebook for free . This is my honest, unbiased review.

What can make a mother leave her new born baby to an unknown and jump in front of a train?
This is how this story begins, and Morgan is the one to see everything first hand, the problem is that she will be the first suspect too! You’ll maybe ask why is she a suspect if Nicole has jumped, the problem is that no one except Morgan has seen anything and the police will not believe her, she is desperate to have a child and now she has one… Morgan will be desperate to prove her innocence but as soon as she starts investigating she will start fearing for her life. Maybe Nicole had a strong motive to jump in front of the train in the end…
This story will be told with flashbacks from Nicole’s past to tell the reader how everything started to have a so drastic ending; while we will be reading Morgan’s attempts to discover what has really happened.
This is a twisted and addictive read, but it was interesting the insight of being a mother and the fears we have of the precious life we have on our hands. Nicole is afraid of her life and her daughter, but the reader will not know why she is so scared; is she having postnatal depression or someone is trying to hurt them? I’ll admit that it was really interesting reading her thoughts and making the reader try to decide what’s really happening on the story. It seems that there are quite a few people around Nicole that would have motives to hurt her, but enough to kill her? And, will Morgan risk her life if she discovers the truth? So many questions… and the only way to know all the answers is to read the book, of course!
Woman on the Edge will put any reader on the edge too, ready?

Woman On The Edge is a fast paced and frenetic novel which I really enjoyed. I could not help but turn pages and I was desperate to find out what happened next.

The novel is the story of two women, Morgan and Nicole, and the narrative switched between their viewpoints. At times, it was difficult to see who was reliable and this left me with a lot of questions which kept me intrigued the whole way through.

One of the central themes in Woman On The Edge is postpartum psychosis. This is a really important issue and I felt it was explored in a very engaging way.

There is a twist at the end of Woman On The Edge and I am kicking myself that I did not see it! It makes for a very exciting ending.

I would love to read more by Samantha.

Gripping from the start, this book is a must.

Full of twists, turns and red herrings. It is fast paced with two strong heroines: one a rich, successful mother, the other a beaten and battered woman who fears she may never be a mother. The two come together in extreme circumstances.

I could not put this book down. What a debut! Well done Samantha M. Bailey I will very much look forward to the next one.

Thank you Netgalley and Headline for giving me the opportunity to read and review this outstanding book.

‘She gave you her baby ..and then she jumped’ - from book front cover.

My thanks to Headline for a digital edition via NetGalley of ‘Woman on the Edge’ by Samantha M. Bailey in exchange for an honest review. Its ebook and audiobook editions were published in October with the paperback due out on 26 November.

This tense domestic thriller opens with what is one of my worse nightmare scenarios. Morgan Kincaid is standing on the edge of a train platform (okay already I am urging her to please step back) when a distraught woman holding a baby speaks to her, then thrusts the baby into her arms, and jumps into the path of an oncoming train. Right..once I calmed myself down I read on.

From there the narrative splits into two streams. The first is narrated by Morgan as she struggles to understand what happened and why a stranger asked her to look after her baby. She is questioned by the police and discovers that none of the witnesses could confirm her story. When other facts emerge, including her own desire for a child, she becomes a suspect.

The second follows the dead woman, Nichole Markham, in the days leading up to that fateful encounter. No more plot details to avoid spoilers but I found it totally delivered on the tension and twists.

As the audiobook was available, I listened alongside reading. I ended up devouring it in a single sitting as it was so brilliant I couldn’t tear myself away.

This was a great debut and I look forward to reading her future projects.

This is a no holds barred opening chapter that I didn't even have time to curl my legs up on my sofa with. Whoa! A couple of hurried desperate garbled sentences from an unkempt woman on the edge of a subway platform to a pretty shocked and baffled lady, before trusting her sleeping baby to her then jumping under a train. Just like that! I re-read the title, The Woman on the Edge had just become The Woman over the Edge! I already knew that the cuppa I had just made wouldn't hack it, I needed something a little stronger.
As no-one else had been privy to the conversation and the subway video had been inconclusive about what had happened, Morgan, who had been left holding the now orphaned baby, became a prime suspect in the death of this stranger. But the dead woman had called her by her name like she knew her. Morgan decided to do some digging herself but it was like she was in quicksand the more she found out and deeper in this mystery she seemed to be getting in.
The story drops back in time. Nicole Markham, the dead mother had secrets that had come back to taunt her and take away the most precious thing in her life. Her new baby daughter. A high flyer in business she became what others saw as paranoid, suffering from some sort of post-natal depression and completely out of control.
This is a real heart in your mouth story that I was glued to about the past and worried to death about the future for this little baby. The intensity never took a minute off making it feel like a much quicker read than it was. Two broken women, now one was dead and the other facing danger. Very clever writing, I probably worked most of it out just before it appeared on the pages for me to confirm. Highly recommended!
I wish to thank NetGalley for an e-copy of this book which I have reviewed honestly.

Wow what a book. This had me gripped from start to finish. Loved the characters.
Samantha Bailey had a way of drawing you in. One minute you think you know what is happening the next you have a whole different perspective. A well thought out book, with plenty of twists. A book you will read in one sitting.

OMG this book is a heart pounding, roller coaster of emotions from the horrific opening chapter to the end and the words “gripping, page-turner” describes Woman on The Edge perfectly.

With two strong but flawed and emotionally damaged main characters Woman on the Edge really takes the reader on a twisted journey and it was one hell of a ride for me personally.

Morgan is a recent widow who is dealing with the aftermath of her husband’s suicide and the devastating repercussions of his actions. She’s barely coping when a chance meeting on a train platform changes her life forever.

Nicole is a new mother to a beautiful little girl with a multi-million dollar company to run and a loving husband, on the surface everything appears to be wonderful, but something has driven her to suicide.

Told through alternating chapters we find out what happened to these two women through present day and the events leading up to the suicide and believe me, it’s not an easy read. With themes of mental health issues, suicide and guilt Woman on the Edge doesn’t gloss over these issues, but brings them screaming and shouting to the reader in a tightly plotted, well written debut.

Thank you @netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book is soooo good!

It kept me on the edge from page 1 until the end. I can't believe how many twists and turns and tense moments and unbelievable yet amazing situations go through!

I loved the first chapter and how it caught my attention straight away. By the cover and title, I could kind of guess a bit what the book was about but I never thought I would enjoy it so much.

I loved the fact that the story is told from two perspectives. Nicole and Morgan. Nicole's chapters are based in the past while Morgan's are in the present. I liked to know how both stories got related and why.

I liked both main characters. I thought the author created two amazing, lovable, strong, fighter characters that made this book a great one.

I didn't like the police behaviour in the story. It upset me how they acted and their reasons to do it. Very annoying!

That wasn't reason enough for me not to give this book a very well deserved 5/5⭐, though! It has the perfect amount of everything I love in thrillers in just under 300 pages.

I have never read a book by this author before but I sure will check out more of her novels as I am in love with this book!

A book that will live with you forever. Gives you the question why? Keeps you wanting to read on to get the answers. Can’t wait for the next one by this author

For a first book this was ok with the promise of a good plot but the characters failed to make me like the, and the story ended up being too far fetched for me to really enjoy.
