I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review -
Wow - Charlotte is a good wife, lots of money, nice home but she is not happy,
She meets a stranger and the romance is hot. She can't help herself and the affair continues.
But then as she decides to leave her husband for Ewan - she is wondering how her husband seems to know her every move. Can she trust him? Is she safe? Who is this man she calls her husband? And - - where is Ewan who shes suppose to meet? You will keep turning the pages reading this book!

I mean c'mon... who doesn't want to read a book titled like this?! This one was definitely right up my alley and kept me hooked the entire time. It was the first novel I have read from Samantha Lee Howe and I cannot wait for more! The characters are going to draw you in as soon as you start reading.

I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review

This one was pretty twisty- some more obvious than others but still an enjoyable ride. You really do you fall in love with the main female character. Solid four

Thank you to Net Galley, Samantha Lee Howe, and the publisher for providing me with my ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book was confusing for me to read because of possibly being read too early in drafting. I know that it will be corrected and edited, but in the meantime it is choppy in format thus making it harder to concentrate on who is actually speaking. The dialogue runs together so often with two different people speaking on the same line made for a huge distraction. This has never happened to me before with an Advanced Reader's Copy. Sure, I have read many other early drafts but none quite as rough as this one.

The story was interesting and kept my attention so that I was entertained but the ending was quite disappointing in that everything is summed up in a letter from the mother-in-law and was quickly summarized. It took me a long time to read even though I liked it. I guess my point is that although it was entertaining, the choppy and stilted format made it difficult to want to keep getting back to. I would like to see this or reread this maybe after it is heavily edited.

Charlotte meets her husband Tom in law school and they get married. Tom is Charlotte"s husband and is a complete psychopath. The reader is at first led to believe that Isadora, who is Charlotte"s mother-in-law is the problem. Interfering, which is stereotypical is how Isadora is presented at first. Charlotte has an affair with Ewan, who she falls in love with and is going to leave her husband for until he disappears. What happened to Ewan? He completely vanishes. Although this story is captivating and sinister, it is very unrealistic. Again, the ending tried to neatly tie everything up with a big, shiny bow and I felt like I had invested a significant amount of time to be highly disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed ‘The Stranger in our bed’ finding it an easy and compelling read - I found myself really looking forward to delving into it at every opportunity, which is exactly what I want from this genre.

Married to wealthy business man, Ben, Charlotte finds herself unsure of her feelings as he pressurises her into starting a family. In her confusion Charlotte finds herself charmed into an affair with Ewan, who she meets in a chance encounter in a department store. As the affair escalates, Charlotte prepares to leave her husband.

Events then spiral out of control with the first of many unexpected twists and turns as Charlotte’s life unravels.

A great story, maybe a bit too ‘Hollywood’ in its ending for my dark tastes, but a highly satisfying read nevertheless!

Many thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author for an advance copy in return for an honest review.

Gripping tense thriller which I couldn’t put down ... Charlotte seems to have the perfect life married to Tom she spends her days and the gym lunching and working on charity projects but something is missing . She meets Ewan and things move fast and suddenly she feels she wants to live her life and decides to leave Tom .... however at the planned meet Ewan doesn’t turn up so with no other option she returns to her life with Tom - she opens up to him about leaving and he appears to forgive her ... but all is not as it seems !!! Her meeting Ewan in the first place was a test from Tom and a great read unravels that will keep the reader gripped!!

Overall, a brilliantly addictive read with a great well explained ending, well done Samantha.

Charlotte has it all, or does she?
It seems she does, she has everything she could ever want, a grand home, everything money can buy, a super successful husband from a food family, yet she feels trapped and anxious and her controlling mother in law doesn’t help.

One day, by chance (or so it seems) she meets a stranger - the charming Ewan. Ewan gives her attention and empathy and he really listens to her, after a couple of ‘chance meetings’ they embark and intense affair. Charlotte really feels she is in true love. She intends to leave her husband and tells him she is leaving for another man.

As she leaves, she realises Ewan isn’t who he claimed to be, he has ruined her marriage. On trying to trace him, he used a fake name and left no trace behind; it’s like he doesn’t even exist!

Someone did this to hurt Charlotte and as the story unravels, we find out who.

This book was frightfully gripping, hard to put down and a real page turner. You really feel for Charlotte and are left wondering what will happen next and where will this story go!

A clever and thought provoking read!

This was a really easy read but it was somewhat far fetched . I know its a work of fiction but I wanted to shake Charlotte so many times . Charlotte starts an affair and falls quickly in love with Ewan , on the day she tells Tom , her husband and prepares to leave to start a new life he disappears without a trace leaving her high and dry .
The amount of times she went back to her controlling husband beggared belief for me , she loved him , she hated him sometimes in the same chapter .As she starts to try and find out what happened to Ewan she opens a massive can of worms that seems to involve everyone from her mother in law to the housekeeper .and the tale gets very twisted
Still very entertaining and I would recommend

Unfortunately this book couldn’t keep my attention and I found myself stopping and taking a break from it frequently. Which was disappointing for me because the synopsis sounded extremely intriguing and I thought it’d be a nonstop read. I found myself not liking the characters or their decisions. Although I thought it was well written I wasn’t a fan of some of the choices that were made in terms of how the story was wrapped up. Even though it wasn’t my favorite read I am glad I read it.

What a spine-tingling thriller! 5 stars!!!

Charlotte, an orphan, can’t believe her luck when she meets Tom in law school. Tom comes from a very wealthy prominent family. Offering her safety, security and love, Charlotte has everything she has ever wanted. After being happily married for 10 years and groomed into the life of a corporate stay at home wife, Charlotte starts to grow restless and feels like something in her life is missing. Trying to gain control over her life from her patronizing mother in law and controlling husband, her friendship with a man Ewan evolves. The relationship progresses into an affair. Charlotte wonders how well she really knows her husband and mother in law. Secrets, family betrayals and lies interlace this cleverly crafted psychological thriller.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves psychological thrillers.

Thank you, Net Galley, for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What sordid fun this book was! Charlotte is the wife of a very wealthy man, and while she has everything she could want, she's unsatisfied with her life. Enter, Ewan Daniels, with whom she has an affair that turns into a serious relationship. When Charlotte works up the nerve to walk out of her marriage for this man, she discovers he was a fake and has disappeared. While the story was a bit farfetched, especially at the end, it was twisted and fun nonetheless. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Started off liking this book, then the characters just didn't do it for me. Sadly the ending seemed rushed and just ended to me. Overall was just alright in my opinion.

Thanks to net galley and the publisher for an early release of this book.

This book hooked me from the start!

Charlotte is married to Tom. Rich and handsome, Tom is, but he is a mama's boy and a control freak. His mother is even worse. She (Isadora) may as well be married to Charlotte, too.

Tom and Charlotte met in Law School and then were married. Tom's father soon passed away. Then, Tom took over the Carlisle family business and expected Charlotte to be a stay-at-home wife. Now, 10 years after meeting Tom, Charlotte meets Ewan (for the second time) at Harrod's. They have coffee. Outside of the coffee shop Charlotte is jostled and falls into the bus lane. .She was 8 weeks pregnant. The baby is miscarried and Charlotte is hospitalized for longer than necessary. Somewhere in Charlotte's life with Tom she has given up the fight and lost herself.

She is then completely controlled by Isadora - down to the clothes she wears. Tom is not much better. Two months after her miscarriage, Charlotte is lonely and dissatisfied. At a charity dinner, Ewan texts Charlotte. She explains she lost Tom's baby and that she is miserable. She meets Ewan for coffee and this is only the catalyst to an affair that becomes much more to Charlotte and Ewan.

I found this book amazing! The characters (like them or not) were well depicted and quite realistic. The plotline was intriguing - and the writing - solid. I hope to read more by Samantha Howe.

Many Thanks to HarperCollins, UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for a memorable, suspenseful, read !
