This book was so cute and I read it just at the right time. A very sweet, festive & innocent love story. At times the main character did frustrate me with some of her decisions and assumptions, which meant she landed herself in a situation she didn't want to be in, but, we were all young once and made similar mistakes, I know I definitely did!

I could definitely see this book being turned into one of those warm and fuzzy Christmas films, its absolutely perfect for something like that.

The characters were all lovable and I felt myself rooting for the couple to get together. It was great to watch Angel growing in confidence throughout the book.

While the ending was predictable, that didn't alter my enjoyment of the book at all. Perfect for a bit of easy, light hearted festive reading!

The formatting on the Netgalley copy made it so that I couldn't read it.

This year, I wanted a cozy, fun Christmassy book to distract from everything happening in the world at the moment. So I decided to pick up a copy of this book and it was exactly the sort of fun I wanted. Whilst the story itself was predictable, the best Christmas stories are always a bit predictable.
I loved Angel as a character, probably because I could relate to her a lot. Her focus, sarcasm and determination reminded me a lot of myself. I also loved Caspar, because he was actually developed as a love interest. A big issue I have normally is that in YA romance novels, the male love interest is an archetype and not an actual character. This story did not fall into that trope.
I loved the romance, and I sped through this book incredibly quickly.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.

A cute and clean Christmas themed YA romance, it was a fast read and light on the mind. I did guess who the secret Santa was early on but that did not take away from the story, it was still enjoyable.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

I read this book back during October Half Term, when it wasn't exactly the time for a Christmassy read, but the nights were starting to draw in, and I was in the mood for a nice contemporary read. Love, Secret Santa was a UKYA that, honestly, I didn't know much about when I first requested it, but I was drawn in from the first page, and I'm glad I was off work, as I couldn't put the book - or rather, phone - down to stop reading. Our main character, Angel, isn't really in a festive mood yet. She's studying for a prestigious scholarship exam, and anything else will just take away from their studies. However, she is also conscientious and charitable, and had signed up to help with the school fundraiser, and is paired with once close, but now estranged friend, Caspar. Wanting to discover just why Caspar started to pull away from her when they started secondary school, she realises that they can be just as close as they always were, just with the complication of some pesky feelings thrown in. To top it all off, while Angel is dealing with her rediscovered feelings for Caspar, a secret admirer, using the guise of Secret Santa, has stepped onto the scene, which is too much for Angel to handle.

I really enjoyed Angel, and wish I had had this book when I was her age. Everything about the book just reminded me of times when I was at school, and Angel was exactly like a true teenager, and not an imagined one. She was real, with real issues, and real feelings. Everything about the book was diverse, from the cast of characters, the sexualities, and the situations. Like I said, this book reflects reality so well, and all British teenagers should read it.

The romance was a slow burn, and the fact that Angel and Caspar had once been friends who reunited and fell for each other, made it even better. Some aspects of the plot were a little far fetched, and the identity of the Secret Santa was a bit obvious, but all in all, I really enjoyed it, and it's definitely a book to get into the festive spirit.

Well, I'll start off by saying that Love, Secret Santa certainly put me in the festive mood! It was so cute and made me feel all fuzzy inside. Perfect for reading in the run up to Christmas! From the very first page I just found myself getting in the Christmas spirit and it was honestly wonderful.

The story itself, centres around Angel, a hardworking student studying for a scholarship exam and who is currently organising her school's charity fundraiser, along with the handsome Caspar Johnson, who she was once friends with. In the midst of all this, Angel, soon starts receiving thoughtful gifts from a Secret Santa and in the midst of all her plans, she is eager to find out who her festive admirer is.

I loved this quick, easy to follow romance and I just found myself immersed in it. This was mainly down to me wanting to find out, alongside Angel who her Secret Santa was! The descriptions and details throughout the book just had you wanting Christmas to come sooner and I, honestly was all for it. To say it made me feel all warm and cosy would be an understatement.

The romance between Angel and Caspar was such a slow burn and I adored it! I'm not a big fan of insta love so to have this slow burning romance was just brilliant and I was rooting for them throughout. The romantic chemistry between them both was just so sweet and felt so natural and not at all forced for the plot.

One last thing I want to mention is how diverse the characters were within Love, Secret Santa. Almost every character was a person of colour and we even had some LGBT representation, which is always amazing to see in YA of all kinds. So kudos to the author for putting diversity into it.

Love, Secret Santa was an adorable, cute, light-hearted read that made me feel all christmassy. If you want a read that is full of joy and love, then this is the book for you.

This book is set in a secondary school and follows Angel Green as she’s revising hard for her scholarship exam and also gets involved in organising the school Christmas fundraiser with her estranged friend Caspar. This school also has an annual secret santa so throughout the month of December everyone receives gifts from a person chosen at random. Angel’s gifts seem really quite meaningful and she’s incredibly curious about who might be behind them. As Angel and Caspar work together on the fundraiser they begin to remember how much fun they had together as children and wonder if they could be friends again but Caspar is flaky and often leaves Angel to deal with the fundraiser at the last minute. She is frustrated by this and can’t work out what is going on with him. I enjoyed this book, it’s an incredibly sweet YA novel set in the run up to Christmas. It reminded me of being a teen and the way you would have no idea if someone likes you or not, and you’re too scared to try and find out. It’s a nostalgic read and I’m really glad I read it.

I couldn't review this book as it wouldn't download onto my phone or kindle. So sad as it looks amazing. Will purchase a copy instead in the future.

This was a story of a study intensive young girl who opens herself up to new opportunities when she receives and advent calendar with hidden prompts to do each day.

I really enjoyed the slow build of the young romance and the lovely ideas that the author had about what schools organised over the festive period.

This was a lovely YA Christmas read that I could 100% see as one of those feel good Christmas Netflix films you look forward to watching, well written and definitely put me in the Christmas spirit.

Would recommended to anyone wanting an easy read to escape into over Christmas and I will be buying a copy to give to my bookish friends at Christmas!

Thanks to net galley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Heart warming, Christmas-themed romance that will not fail to have you smiling.
Angel Green is a serious young lady. Determined to become a doctor, she is about to sit an exam to get a scholarship to study further, but she can’t help but worry that things may not be so simple.
We meet Angel as she is forced to take on fundraising for the school committee with Caspar, someone she used to be good friends with. Tentatively they take steps to restart their friendship, though Angel is distracted by her mother’s new relationship and her Secret Santa.
We follow Angel through December as she tries to juggle all her commitments and comes to realise the depth of her feelings for Caspar.
For a clever girl, Angel is a little short-sighted. Key details are rather obvious from early on, and yet she’s the kind of character you find yourself rooting for things to go as we predict.
On occasion there’s just a little too much going on, but it all adds up to a quite entertaining read. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this in exchange for my thoughts.

This was such an adorable read. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be a bit too old for this book and was on the fence about requesting but I’m so glad I did! Even though it’s not Christmas yet, I found myself being sucked into the atmosphere and absolutely loving this!

Angel is such a strong character who is so academically focused that I was rooting on her to pass her scholarship exam. I thought that Casper was going to be a lot different after reading the synopsis but I’m happy I was completely wrong. I really liked his character and how adorable he is! I also really liked a lot of the side characters, especially Izzy! I do wish we would have gotten to know a bit more about Ola as I do feel like she was kind of pushed to the back quite a lot.

My only qualm with this book is that I guessed a lot of the main plot lines quite early on which made the suspense of Angel finding out who was her secret Santa incredibly anti-climatic.

Otherwise this was a super adorable, heart-warming contemporary and recommend this for anyone looking for a fast-read, cute wintery read this Christmas.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Children’s Group for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Love, Secret Santa is a book I couldn't wait to start reading as it sounded like a fun and festive read. The story is about Angel Green who is taking part in a secret Santa at her school and as a result receives a calendar with hidden messages and activities for her to take part in on the lead up to Christmas. All whilst studying for a scholarship exam and planning the school fundraiser.

I have mixed feelings about this book, whilst at times I was enjoying the story there were also a lot of times that it was very predictable. I had worked out who Secret Santa was within the first twenty pages and I worked out Casper's secret at least fifty pages before Angel!

I think I would have enjoyed the book more if it was written from Angel's perspective as it would have given more of an insight into how she really felt about the situation and helped to get to know her personality more as I found that with so much going on in Angel's life it sometimes took away from her as a character as it always seemed to be focused on what she'd do next and not her feelings at the time. I think Caspar is a great character and I like how we get to see him change throughout the story and some of the secrets he keeps to himself. I liked how close Angel was to her mum but also found some of her mums storyline unnecessary and too much with so much already going on in the book.

I think this was a good read but I thought it would be better. I wasn't keen on the writing style and didn't find it as festive as I'd have liked but it was interesting to read the story of a very busy term for Angel!

I can't seem to read this or review it. I downloaded it and couldn't open it at all, I sent it to my phone in an email, hoping I could open it on my phone as I have a Samsung Galaxy 7, however despite downloading a few different apps, I'm still unable to open to read it, is this supposed to happen?

I don't want to leave a rating either since I can't read it. But it won't let me send this without one so please excuse a 1 star rating, and if you need to talk with me about this problem then my email is paigedunmorex@hotmail.com

I hope we can get this resolved so I can read it, thank you!

Angel Green, is quite serious for a teenager. She dreams of studying at the prestigious Dustable Academy and eventually becoming a doctor, she spends most of her time studying leaving little time for anything else.. that is until she’s thrown in to fundraising with her ex childhood friend Casper.

I thought Love Secret Santa was well written but very predictable.. there were definitely no surprises with this book. The characters were well rounded and each added a little something to the story. I especially liked the friendship between Angel and her two best friends- Izzy and Ola.

Overall Love Secret Santa is a fun, festive story, perfect if you’re looking for a light, easy read to enjoy in the run up to Christmas.
