Winter... gorgeous scenery... log fires... wooly hats.. and potential lost. I give it to Georgia - she can depict a scene so wonderfully that you really feel part of the atmosphere. However, these characters felt like slightly less favourable carbon copies of some of her other stronger titles. Needed padding out more - a bit more tension, not such a lightning zap of a resolve, less fluff and more christmas sparkle. The cutest feature was G popping her own dog front and centre as the main doggy character.

I am so here for sapphic books that read like cute movies!
This book was just like that for me and I absolutely loved it.
This was my first Georgia Beers book, and I am definitely going to be reading more from her after this!

Georgia Beers is an auto buy/read for me because her stories are so lovely and amazing. One Walk in Winter was one of my favorite books from the year. The romance was simple and lovely and the women finding each other and themselves was great.

Unfortunately I was unable to get in to this story and had to put it down, however, I'm sure it is a highly loved book and appreciated by the right readers.

This was such a heartwarming sweet story. It's the perfect book to curl up with on a cold day.

The premise is pretty simple but this story shines through the characters. Olivia and Hayley have fantastic chemistry and their connection is clear from the start. They're such real characters and I couldn't help but root for them.

I'll definitely be rereading this so of course i'd recommend it.

If this book had to be summed up in a single word, “warm” would be at or near the top of the list. One Walk in Winter is so sweet and lovely, and that’s largely down to Olivia and Hayley. They’re both fundamentally good people, the kind you’d want to see for dinner once a week, because time with them is fun and gives you a happy heart.

Do you you like Hallmark romance movies? How about lifetime romance movies (the kind with happy endings)? Or maybe rom coms or chick flicks? If you answered yes to any of the above, then have I got good news for you - "One Walk in Winter" by Georgia Beers is a sweet and simple romance, the fun kind with the kind of popcorn ending that will warm your winter nights.

The story follows the formula of a good old-fashioned romance; the conflict is what I would generously call "low stakes," as two successful and slightly competitive women work out their professional and personal lives throughout the story. But what sets "One Walk in Winter" apart from its peers is that the characters both feel real, their relationship feels honest, and their chemistry works.

Readers of romance and lesbian fiction will enjoy this feel-good page-turner.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The summary isn't anything special: Olivia has worked all her life to be the next manager of the Evergreen Resort and Spa but when the current manager leaves, the position is offered to another person, leaving Olivia angry and upset. The new manager, Hayley, knows nothing about running a resort and problems soon ensue between her and Olivia.

While the premise of this book is fairly stereotypical, I was hooked from the very beginning. Beers manages to create a superb chemistry between both women that gives the story a flair. The way the characters are constructed makes them feel more real, as they both have distinct flaws and personalities. The differences between Olivia and Hayley come from being from very different backgrounds. While Hayley has had a comfortable upbringing, growing up in an affluent family but with strained family relationships; Olivia has a loving, but modest, family that she adores.

The Christmas theme was also a good touch, given that I read this book during the holidays. The fact that the drama wasn't over the top was also a good thing, it kept Olivia and Hayley's relationship more real and mature.

I would certainly recommend this novel to anyone who loves romance and christmassy stories.

‘One Walk In Winter’ by Georgia Beers is that perfect combination of idyllic setting, feel-good romance and a beautiful ending that had me sighing in contentment. Olivia has worked hard to get where she is in her career, but the top job has eluded her so far. Corporate America hasn’t got past the old boy network and it shows in the lack of innovation and ideas at the Evergreen Spa Resort. When a new and inexperienced manager turns up to take the job Olivia thinks should be hers, she finds it hard to keep her displeasure to herself. Hayley is the seemingly irresponsible youngest child of the Markham clan. When her father gives her a last chance to prove herself, she has no choice but to give it a shot. Especially since he’s cut off her allowance. But Hayley is an artist at heart and finds it difficult to be the person her father wants her to be. An encounter in the woods with a beautiful woman lifts her spirits - but when they both realise the truth, it’s never going to be easy.

I really liked Olivia. She was conscientious, determined and great at her job. She was a people person and perfect for the job. I wanted her to find love too though, as that side of her life had been put on hold while she concentrated on her career. Her family were supportive and her mother was a gem. Hayley had an uphill struggle, however hard she tried. Forcing someone to be what you want is not a good idea in any scenario. She blossomed when she was out in the countryside taking photos. Her heart soared when she painted. Seeing the two women get to know each other properly - after the initial wow intro - was beautiful. It was never just a chemical reaction between them - there was so much more. It was bout knowing what you really want, and more importantly, what you need. It was about healing and love and passion. A truly heat-warming story. I loved it.

I was given this ARC for review.

One Walk in Water by Georgia Beers is About. Olivia Santini who has been the assistant manager of the Evergreen Resort and Spa for seven years. When her manager resigns she puts in her resume and waits for her interview, but Hayley Boyd Markham is a very spoiled female who is given an ultimatum by her father. She needs to work as a manager of the Evergreen Resort and prove it can turn a profit. Until then, her inheritance is on hold as well as Georgia’s resume. When Hayley and Georgia get together, they realize they can help each other and connect professionally and personally. This is a romance novel between the two women who work together and fall in love. It was well-written, with a nice background, a resort hotel at Christmas. A nice cozy mystery. Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me an advanced readers copy for review.

Beers is huge in the Lesbian Romance genre so it's no surprise to see another book delivered with chemistry.

Hayley and Olivia come from different backgrounds but their connection is immediate before anything else is known - like Hayley is the new boss and doesn't seem to know a thing about running a hotel.

I'll be brief on the blurb because you can get that from anywhere. My wrap is that I was disappointed in this book. Certainly, one big twist ended up being a different twist than expected but beyond that it there was nothing overly strong in this book.

Aaaah. Reading a Georgia Beers novel is like snuggling under a blanket in front of the fireplace, drinking hot cocoa and just...relax. Every book she writes is a joy to read. Her characters are very real, and the writing is always good. I always have fun when reading Georgia Beers. To be recommended!

Georgia Beers has been on fire lately! Her books are a satisfying mix of cute and sexy and this holiday romance does not disappoint. I will admit that it is the second time I question her plot choices, and both times she has proven me wrong. I was not behind the idea of a spoiled brat protagonist, but I ended up appreciating Hayley.

This was a well written book by Georgia Beers. It is about Olivia, who works at a resort and has been climbing up the corporate ladder. In walks Hayley, who takes over the manager job that Olivia really wanted. Olivia soon finds out that Hayley does not know the first thing about managing and offers to help her. Olivia is able to push down the anger of not being promoted to help the person who got the job. What happens after that, is typical lesbian romance. This was a quick read for me, because I really liked the characters, the imagery and the plot. If you are a Georgia Beers fan, this is a must read!

I read this one of the Thanksgiving Holiday and it was perfect. It was a super sweet romance, with well-written characters. If you are looking for a holiday read, you really can't go wrong with this one. Perfect winter reading. I feel like this is a better novel than Beers has written in a while. Hayley and Olivia were super sweet together, and for me, the book just worked.

THIS WAS SO CUTE???

This is literally a sapphic Hallmark romance and I am so here for it. The relationship dynamic was amazing, and it had such a cozy atmosphere. It was the perfect fall/winter/Christmas read, and I adored watching Olivia and Haley fall in love.

I want a book that gives me all the feels. When you open up a new book and that delicious anticipation of will this be a good one? Fingers crossed it will be a great one. That is an amazing feeling when it actually comes to fruition. You know pretty early on with Georgia Beers newest book, One Walk in Winter, that you have a special book in your hands.

Hayley Boyd Markham lost her mother two years ago to cancer. Since her mother’s death, she has been lost. No direction, no interests, and far too many nights burning up the Manhattan nightlife to find a band-aid for her pain. Her dad has had enough, after spending thousands on bottle service at NYC club, Hayley has been assigned to take over the manager role of one of the Markham family’s smaller hotels, the Evergreen. Hayley has no interest or experience in the hotel industry. She is an artist at heart. Her father gives her no choice, she is to manage the hotel or be cut-off from her family’s funds for good.

Olivia Santini is the assistant manager of the high-end vacation resort. She works her tail off to provide each and every one of the Evergreen’s customers a world-class experience. She loves the hotel and her staff, and she knows that there is work to be done to make this place even better. What she does not care for is being passed for the manager’s position. She knows it’s not Hayley’s fault she did not get the role, but it stings that once again she has been passed over for a job she has already been doing.

What makes this book rise above the rest is Beers creates amazing chemistry between the two leads. The feelings, the attraction, the anticipation of an epic romance, it all just jumps off the page. I found myself hanging on every word, feverously turning the page for the next interaction between Hayley and Olivia. This is a delightful romance that made me smile and made my heart happy.

Olivia has been working at Evergreen Resort and Spa for years as the assistant manager, when the manager resigns, she figures she's a shoo in since she's practically been doing his job already. But corporate had other plans for the position, a woman by the name of Hayley Boyd. It quickly becomes obvious that Hayley has no idea how to manage Evergreen and Olivia can't fathom why corporate hired her. The two women clash, but after a rocky start, their attraction becomes harder to deny.

I'm hopelessly late on this review, but gosh what a wonderful story. I think it's got to be impossible not to love a book by Georgia Beers. There's something about the magical combination of community, family, dogs, and the sweetest, sexiest love stories thats just irresistible. Add a little snow to the mix and you just about have the dreamiest book ever. The drama was a little obvious at the end but I'm an addict for the drama and it always makes the romance that much sweeter.

Olivia Santini is the assistant manager at the Evergreen Resort and Spa. Since she was a little girl, Olivia has dreamed of one day becoming the manager at the resort. She believes her time has come but, unfortunately, someone else has been given the job. That person is Hayley Boyd Markham.

Hayley and Olivia are as different as night and day. Olivia is the daughter of a single parent. She has a strong work ethic and loves everything about the resort. She also loves the small, upstate New York town and could not imagine living anywhere else.

Hayley is the only daughter of a multi-millionaire who just happens to own the Evergreen, as well as numerous other 5-star hotels. Hayley is a party girl from Manhattan, and she doesn’t think twice about spending her family’s money on frivolous things. Unfortunately for Hayley, her father has had enough of the spending and has cut the money supply. It is time for her to take responsibility for something, so he placed her in charge of the resort and told her she has one chance to get it right.

Olivia is hurt, angry and jealous that she did not get the promotion. What is worse, Hayley does not know the least little thing about running a major resort. Olivia is even more upset because Haley needs to rely on Olivia to get the job done. However, the chemistry between them is not diminished because of their differences.

This romance is set during the Christmas holiday season. I have read all of Ms. Beers’ romances and have enjoyed them all. The characters are well-developed and believable. The plot is solid and has a good pace to it. I also enjoyed the interaction of the supporting characters. The Christmas holiday celebration of the family was warm and special.

I recommend this book for anyone who wants to read a good romance. I give this a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Hmm i have mixed feelings with this book. In my opinion Georgia Beers is an excellent author. My neighbour’s wife and a her book series (Puppy Love Romance) were fantastic reads.
However, this one was sorta average for me. I cant put my finger on why i didn't click with the story. But i do plan on reading it again sometime.
