A Body in the Bookshop is the second book in what is shaping up to be an addictive and entertaining series. I can't wait to see what's up next for these two.

If you love cosy mysteries, and the odd romantic overtone then the Kitt Hartley series is for you.

Enjoyable mystery. I would probably have benefitted from reading the previous book first and I may yet go back and read it.

I very much enjoyed this book. It has a good story and excellent main characters. I would definately recommend this book.

A great addition to the series that began with Murder by the Minster. I love the York setting, and Christmas and romance are a bonus. Recommended.

This book sounded so interesting I had to go and buy book #1 so I could read the series in order. A great story and I am so looking forward to more from Kitt.

Kitt, a librarian and fiend Evie are back sleuthing and on the trail of a murderer. Plot is full of twists and really good read as standalone as well as the series.

I can't give a reasonable review of this book as I didn't finish it. In fact, I only got through the first chapter before deciding it simply was not for me; I simply did not like the characters. This is not to say that others won't find it an excellent read.

This is the second book in the series, I haven't read the first one but this worked fine as a stand alone.

The book is set in York near Christmas which definitely adds to the atmosphere. Friends Evie and Kitt get involved in investigating the theft of rare books and a subsequent murder, both have romantic interests in the police and an extra reason to try to solve the crime.

There are many quirky characters and enough red herrings to keep you interested.

Another excellent book from Helen Cox. Following the theft of rare books from her favourite book shop Kitt and her friend Evie are once again on the trail of a murderer. There are many false leads but I have to say I did not expect the ending. The wonderful setting of York adds to the overall enjoyment.

So this is the second in the Kitt Hartley series which I didn’t realise until I started reading it (I really need to start reading synopsis more closely) but it’s easily read as a standalone.

I was drawn to this novel as it’s set in York, one of my favourite cities in Britain and I do love a cosy mystery.

This novel is billed as a cosy mystery but I think it’s a little bit more of a mystery with a side of romance as there were a few steamy scenes scattered throughout.

The cast of characters was likable if a little eccentric and there were some nice twists and turns through the story.

Again like a few books in this genre, I think it could have done with being a little shorter as it dragged slightly near the end, although it didn’t spoil my overall enjoyment of the book.

A Body In The Bookshop is a solid mystery with great characters. I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author.

This is book 2 in the Kitt Harley Yorkshire Mystery series. I would definitely recommend reading book 1, Murder by the Minister first. I didn't and I'm going to read book 1 and reread book 2. I think I'll probably update to 4 stars once I understand the backgrounds of Kitt and Evie. This book reminds me of the Sukey Reynolds series by Betty Rollins which is one of my favorites. DS Charlotte Banks and Di Malcolm Holleoran to get them booted off the police force. All evidence points to a dirty cop and now he's willing to murder to keep his secret. Good story. I wouldn't recommend for young readers. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Well-written and a great british cozy read.

I do not read as many "cozy" mysteries as I once did.  However, I could not resist a book with this title.  A Body in the Bookshop is the second novel in this author's series.  She capably brings the town of York to vivid life and also develops good characters and relationships.  However, I found the mystery itself to stretch credulity a bit. 

I recommend this one as a quick and okay read. Readers can tell that the author loves books as she refers to a number of titles over the course of this novel.

A Body in the Bookshop is a fantastic cozy mystery. I must go back and read the first in the series. The characters are interesting and well developed. The storyline is interesting has some twists and turns.

This is the second book in a series set in York, England . I love a English mystery so I was drawn to this series set in beautiful York. Book one was Murder By The Minister: I have not read the first in series. The series features Kitt and DI Mal Halloran’s . This book centers on Kitt’s friend, Evie Bowes and Mal’s partner DS Charlotte Banks.

In this next in series DS Banks has been suspended from the force for assault on a suspect. Evie wants to find out what really happened and help her get reinstated. When a murder occurs they are both involved and now must solve the murder as well as work together to get Charlotte cleared of wrong doing.

This was a fun police procedural read. I really enjoy the complex charcters and the great setting of York in Christmas time. The sleuth was very well crafted and interesting to completion. I look forward to the next book in series.

Cosy mystery set in York during Christams season. A Body in the Bookshop is the story of murder and detecting. However, it is a story of finding oneself as well. It is a story of how a person can overcome their scars both visible and unvisible, how they can find love and fight for what they truly want.
Characters are likeable and are easy to identify with. A very worthy read for lovers of cosy mysteries.
Yes, the book is one of the series. It would be a good idea to read them all in order."

After DS Charolette Banks is suspended from the Police Force after being accused of assaulting a suspect of the burglary of a local bookshop. Librarian Kitt Harley and her friend Evie Bowes know she is not guilty, but why is someone trying to get her in trouble?

Charolette’s boss DI Malcolm Halloran is not in a position to help so Evie Bowes takes it upon herself to help Charolette regain her good name and get her career back. It takes some convincing but she is able to convince Kitt to help as well.
They go from the tight knit community of York’s bestsellers, to the most gossipy bus route in the county. Kitt and Evie are not going to leave anything to chance.

The discovery of a body makes the stakes even higher. For Evie and Kitt the case is as personal as they come. Can they catch the murderer in order to make a bright and Merry Christmas or will they become the killers next victims?
