This is the sort of sweet read that's perfect for a lazy day. Daisy is being wooed (sort of) by Bea's three sons all of whom want to inherit the jewelry store. Kit. the underdog- well, no spoilers. Know that this is an HEA. A good read.

I really wanted to like this book. The synopsis held so much promise, but the book failed to deliver as much as I hoped for from it. I enjoyed it well enough, but with a few tweaks it could have been an even more enjoyable read.

The first thing about this book is the beauitful cover which is so pretty and festive. The book really pulled at my heart strings throughout, Daisy is such a unqiue character, her passion from her work and the creativity of her own designs. So when Dasiy is thrown into a world of luxery, she isn't sure what to expect, even more so the be drawn to a handsome man like Kit who seems to care about Daisy. Having this books set in the feastive season of Chgristmas, makes it the perfect tiem of the year to fall in love with romance, the characters and unexpected gifts which we never expect.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

The little shop on Silver Linings Street is a book filled with detailed and charming characters and rich, beautiful descriptions. A love a romance but a romance that also has amazing writing is rare and such a joy to read.

You know that by the end of the book she has to fall for someone, but like an episode of the bachelor you love reading more and trying to work out who exactly it will be.

I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley in return for my honest opinion.

Daisy loves her job in Buchanan's jewellery shop and working for Bea, the owner, who took her on just after she left school so she is devastated when Bea says she is retiring and moving to Spain. Bea has three sons and she sets them a task of finding the most perfect piece of jewellery for Daisy and the reason why it suits her to decide which if them should take over the shop. So all of a sudden they all want to spend time with Daisy but will any of them really get to know her?

A lovely warm story which was a bit slow to start but I think that was really keeping with the character of Daisy. The brothers were all very different and so you were always rooting for Kit who seemed to be the underdog and hoping for a happy ending for Daisy

Daisy has been working in Buchanan's jewelers since the owner Bea took her in and gave her a job at 17years of age. Bea is retiring on her 60th birthday and moving abroad with her love Charles. Therefore she has set a competition for her three sons which will decide who takes over the business. They must make Daisy a piece of jewellery which she'll love and represents her. However Daisy is housing her own secrets. Will the competition go to plan? Who will take over Buchanan's jewelers?

The title drew me into this book. It promised a magical Christmas read.

Some research into this author has told me that this book is in a series. However you would not know this when reading and this book makes a great stand alone book, Something I think this author has got down to a fine art.

I loved Daisy's character the most because her relationship with food is exactly the same as mine and I have never met another person like it. She draws you into her unconventional life and makes you laugh, cry and hold your breath as you go through the roller coaster of the competition. Although Bertie, Kit and Bea all have a warm feeling about them perfect for a Christmas read.

This book has cleverly been formulated to have many threads and layers. Not only do you have the family feud at Buchanan's . You have the competition, Daisy's own solitary life due to her past. As well as her jewellery making and how her friends give her the confidence to expand into business. This is fantastic way of showing how powerful woman can rise from the shadows and dont necessarily have to be upper class.

Although their are some emotional subjects included in this book such as parents death, substance misuse and misunderstandings I do not feel this takes away from the magical feel of the book.

However the lack of romance in the book did make it have a slow feel in parts. Suddenly when at Kits house Daisy hugs him (almost reads like more) however she hardly mentions if at all any feelings for him before. After this point she sporadically mentions her feelings for him but in a very 2D way making it a statement rather than a feeling. If these were elaborated on and made more 3d this book would have had everything and been more of a page turner.

Although I would love to know how Daisy changes the shop and any difficulties she may have in another book.

Oh wow I just loved The Little Shop on Silver Linings Street. I was gripped from the first few pages and struggled to put it down. I loved how Bea had set a competition for her three sons for them to choose the perfect jewellery piece for Daisy, the outcome was spot on.

I enjoyed this book. First one by this author, but for sure it will not be the last. Great book to return too at the end of the day.

What a sweet book to read for the holidays! Yes, there's some suspended belief involved, but you don't really mind when it's a light holiday read. I'd say my only real complaint is the book continues to hint at extreme trauma the main character, Daisy, experienced as a child and it is never addressed directly, but less resolved. Normally the would drive me crazy, but again, when it's a sweet, fun book, you don't really want to be brought down by the sadness anyway.

Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC for a fair and honest review.

Oh my goodness, I adored this book. From the moment we met Daisy, a homebody, someone who has their life perfectly synchronised and likes everything just so, I knew I was going to like her and relate to her. She likes order, routine and simplicity but suddenly her employer’s retirement threatens to upend her neat, organised little world and send her spinning into the unknown.

The three brothers who had to compete for the chance to take over the jewellery shop where Daisy works were all so unique and well written, even Lawrence who I despised. I adored Kit and the romance with him and Daisy was so sweet and whilst obvious, it was never drawn out or laboured. Neither was it rushed which suited both characters, it would not have made sense for anything to suddenly catapult out of nowhere. I also adored Bertie and would love to see more of him. I am glad to see the back of Lawrence, I can’t see him ever getting true redemption, he was far too selfish.

It was also wonderful to see the return of characters from Emma Davies’ previous books. Flora and Ned from ‘The House at Hope Corner’ and Grace and Amos from ‘The Beekeepers Cottage’ (see my review of that here https://twobirds1blog.wordpress.com/2019/08/25/the-beekeepers-cottage-bookreview/ ). I’m hoping we will continue to see these characters again. Whilst they were integral to the story of Daisy and Kit, they did not distract from the story being told here, and also it was nice to see how their lives were developing since their own stories were told.

A couple of the elements were predictable but there was still enough to surprise me and keep me reading, entertained throughout. I can’t wait to get stuck into another book from this wonderful author.

Delicate and intricately woven tale of romance and blossoming amongst the sparkling diamonds of Buchanan’s jewellery.

Don't you just love it when a plot unfolds and you didn't see it coming? There were a couple of instances of this in the book and it made what was already a thoroughly enjoyable read and even greater one.

Daisy is an odd bod, an introvert, a loner, set in her ways, and utterly delightful. The rest of the main characters are totally individual and well sculpted. The plot is sturdy and the descriptions are detailed and almost magical in places, and the whole thing makes for a gorgeously uplifting festive read.

I loved this story, It was one of those sweet, light romantic tales that you anticipate the ending is going to be perfect. I wanted to read the sweet conclusion, yet at the same time dreaded finishing the book. So I guess I’ll have to read it again. The character of Daisy is the heart of this book. She’s kind, loyal, and compassionate. The supporting characters are interesting, too, and the Christmas setting gives this book some extra sparkle.

This is a sweet, clean story with no foul language. After reading this one, I signed up for the author’s newsletter as I hope to read more of her books.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
