I really enjoy reading Jenny Hale’s books. This one took me a little while to get into, but overall was a good read and a lovely story with the ending you would expect. The descriptive scenery made you feel like you were really there and made it feel very Christmassy. Good book to read at this time of the year (early December!). Thank you for accepting my request and I look foreword to Jenny’s next book.

This took me entirely too long to finish. Don’t get me wrong…I enjoyed the book. I just wasn’t attached like I wanted to be. Prior Jenny Hale books have gripped me and I loved how enticed I was with the story but something about this one just didn’t do that. I found myself putting the book down during PIVOTAL moments and not feeling that urge to need to know what happens ASAP. I do recommend this book if you like prior books by Hale or want a sweet Christmas mountain book. I think this book was more about family and less about the romance and maybe that’s what took some of the enjoyment out of it for me. The romance didn’t really start until the 75% mark in the book.

Christmas At Silver Falls was trying to be a fun and cozy Christmas read. I liked the characters and the concept of the close knit family of Scarlett. However, there were too many side plots going on which distracted me from focusing on he main protagonists, Scarlett and Charlie. Also, book felt boring to me. The one good thing was the setting of the story, however it was not enough to revive it in my eyes.

I enjoyed this book, while predictable it was a fun wintery read. The story was a slight twist on a common story, which kept it interesting even if it was clear what the ending would be.

Christmas at Silver Falls is a sweet, cozy Christmas read. It began like all Hallmark movies do, the family home the must go up for sale unless someone swoops in to save the day.

Far too many times that I had to suspend belief on this one, so I had to give it 2.5 instead of a full. 3. I was just feeling warm and fuzzy inside when the ending drove me crazy because there is no way a full home reno could have been a surprise.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.

Scarlett always spends Christmas at White Oaks Inn her grandmother's ski hotel but she is distraught to find that it's losing money due to the new smarter resorts in the area and this could be the last year. Determined to save it she approaches Charlie Bryant a local businessman but he has very different ideas to her about the way forward..... will they be able to agree on anything and what is the secret that is holding Charlie back?

A lovely Christmassy story that keeps you hoping that the inn can be saved and kept in the traditional way that Scarlett is so desperate for, lovely characters and definitely a Christmas setting to get you in the mood

I usually pick up every Jenny Hale book I see. You can always count on a wonderful romance, many of which she sets around the Christmas season. Scarlett is heading to White Oaks Inn for what could be the last family Christmas at her Grandmother's ski resort. More modern hotels and Inns are available and the finances are bad. Scarlett seeks out property developer Charlie Bryant for help and they have very different views on saving the Inn. I'm pretty sure there are some crossover characters her but it is written as a stand alone feel good Christmas love story. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Christmas at Silver Falls

by Jenny Hale

From Jenny Hale, author of books set in summer and at Christmas time, comes another “heartwarming, feel-good Christmas romance” in the form of Christmas at Silver Falls. Scarlett Bailey realizes that this Christmas will probably be the last Christmas gathering of her family at her Gran’s beloved White Oaks Inn. Gran will be forced to sell because she is unable to compete with the newer resorts springing up in the area. Charles Bryant, one of the developers of the popular resorts, shows up unexpectedly in the area, and Scarlett determines to enlist his help in saving the Inn. The complicated becomes even more so when Julie and her young son Trevor, who have obviously undergone hard times, make a dramatic entrance that changes everything.

Christmas at Silver Falls is a fun Christmas read with a beautiful setting. Not all the characters were as well fleshed out as they might have been, but you can not come away without feeling for them in their predicaments.

I would like to extend my thanks to netgalley.com and to Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Memorable Lines:

“We all go through things like that in life, and the good news, at least from what I’ve found, is that after the lows you notice the highs, and when you’re up there, it feels so good. Just hang on. It’s coming.”

Scarlett felt hope surge in her veins like rocket fuel.

“In an old run-down cottage, you are like fresh bouquets; you’re like a misty-morning view, a sunrise, a barefoot dance in a field of wildflowers…”

Very cute Christmasy book that was perfect between Hallmark movies, haha. I wouldn't say it was an especially original book, but sometimes that isn't what you're looking for when you pick up a romance. I loved that it really delivered on the CHRISTMAS aspect of the title as a few other "Christmas" books I read this past holiday season were a bit light there. Overall, I really enjoyed this book!

Cute, quick Christmas read! Perfect for fans of Hallmark Christmas movies! A great setting that came alive for the reader. I love books about inns!

“Christmas at Silver Falls” lives up to its marketing description of being a “feel-good” heartwarming novel. The story revolves around a family Christmas celebration at their family owned inn, which is in need of repair and renovation. The family seems to have found an investor to take on the project, but then plans seem to fall apart. Several romances and a winter storm add interest to the plot. All is neatly wrapped up in the end. An epilogue adds the final punch to this sweet story that underscores family as the most important aspect of Christmas. The characters and setting are likeable, and the ending is predictable but satisfying.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Isn't that cover adorable? But yes, I was drawn in by the cover, but the story itself sounded really good too.

The family might be losing White Oaks Inn since it has been holding on by a thread. This might be the last Xmas there. Until Scarlett hears that Charlie Bryant is in town and he is a successful property developer. When they meet sparks fly, but there is a lot of issues Charlie is trying to get through. Will they be able to help each other?

The lust was instant, but the love took a long time WHICH I am happy for. There are a lot of issues especially with Charlie trying to find redemption and Scarlett is trying to figure out how to save the inn. Lots of issues. Buuuuuut....sometimes I forgot this was a romance. I think they needed to focus more on these guys.

I finished this in a couple of sittings. I was so curious to see how everything was going to end up. Especially with Charlie. Sure, I worried about the inn, but I wasn't too worried especially since Charlie is a king of hotels and developing property. So that wasn't really something to worry about.

There were a lot of side characters. I enjoy some good side characters, but I felt like it took away from the main story and our main characters. I wanted more time on them getting to know each other and falling in love.

Overall, not a bad way to start the year. But I felt like there were a lot of distractions from our main couple. I wanted more love and more about their story. I'll give this 3 stars.
