I found tears filling my eyes and smiles warming my heart while reading Christmas in Silver Falls. Even in the worst of times, the White Oak Inn provides the true meaning of Christmas for all those who enter. I hope you visit Silver Falls and fall in love with this heartwarming story, as I did. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy from Netgalley and Bookoture. The review and comments are my honest opinion.

Scarlett Bailey is hoping to save her Grandmother’s hotel, White Oaks, from being sold. She will do anything to keep her grandmother in her home and is hoping to persuade developer Charles Bryant to invest in the hotel; but can she get him to part with his money?

A heartwarming story of family, friends and Christmas joy which was an enjoyable, entertaining read.

I would like to thank Bookouture for asking me to be apart of this blog tour and for sending me a copy to review. Jenny Hale is one of my all time favourite authors and Christmas is not Christmas without a beautiful Christmas story from Jenny.
As you can see from the cover Christmas at Silver Falls will really get you into the mood for Christmas. When I first saw the cover I got all those amazing festive feelings and they continued as I read the story. Scarlet Bailey has arrived in Silver Falls for Christmas with her family but they are hiding a secret from Gran and it threatens to destroy Christmas. When Scarlet meets Charlie and feelings spark between them, she believes he maybe the answer to the families problem but he has a different view of Christmas and the meaning of family and this could course an issue.
I loved the setting and Jenny captures the very essence of Silver Falls in the pages of this story. I felt like I was right there as everything unfolded and was apart of Christmas itself. Jenny Hale has this magical ability to re-create the most perfect Christmas from the characters to the location, and this location is something very special.
I loved how the characters of Scarlet and Charlie developed over the story and the lessons they learn about life, love and family. A truly inspiring read that is perfect to cosy up by an open fire with on a cold night.
This needs to be made into a film!

I fell in love with the gorgeous cover and I think it perfectly represents this novel.
It's a classic Christmas story, it could be turned into a great Hallmark movie, poignant and heartwarming with problematic family relationships, a winter romance and a lovely setting.
It's well written, engrossing and fun to read.
I loved the well written cast of characters and I'd like to visit the setting.
Recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

The cover of this book depicts such a traditional Christmas scene, and it really suits the storyline. The descriptions of the location are lovely, and it sounds like a nice place

Scarlett and her family always spend their Christmas at Silver Falls, the family resort. This Christmas will probably be the last one, as their Grandmother refuses to modernise, and so the resort might have to be sold.
This book has a familiar and sentimental theme, and is fairly predictable, but it is still a nice festive and romantic read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

A gorgeous Christmas story which whilst it followed a fairly obvious route, the descriptions and the emotion within the pages made it extremely.enjoyable.

Well worth curling up in front of the fire to read.

This is a Netgalley ARC review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Heartwarming is in the subtitle of Jenny Hale’s adorable book Christmas at Silver Falls. This was a very well written story that I could see playing out as a holiday movie. And I would watch it!! Scarlett and Charlie are characters that you know are going to have conflict immediately. The family dynamic between Scarlett and her family is endearing. Also, I think living at an inn would be so fun. This is a typical holiday romance plot arc complete with tortured pasts and a small twist.

Overall, I would recommend this book to someone needing a little Christmas cheer or pick-me-up.

Oh my goodness what a beautiful Christmas story! It had everything that I enjoy in a story, gorgeous characters, beautiful setting, some mystery and positivity by the bucket load!
As soon as I started reading this fabulous book, I was hooked! I was desperate to see how the lovely Scarlett could help her family save her Grandmothers inn. I was emotional involved because the characters and the history of the inn really struck a chord with me.
I was intrigued by the character of Charlie, my attention was held as I itched to find out more about his history and his reason for returning after so long.
This was a wonderful book that I will carry in my mind, long after I have read it. Filled me with warm festive feelings 💕🎄

This story is a cozy and sweet read about family. Scarlett is determined to save her Gran’s Inn and wants to find the perfect buyer.
Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy.

**3.5 Stars**

Holiday romances warm my soul and this was no exception. I love the setting and the characters. It definitely had all of the seasonal elements which made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It is somewhat predictable and it moved a little bit too quickly in parts, but I did enjoy reading this. A good holiday read.

When you read a Jenny Hale Christmas novel, you feel like you are watching a Christmas movie! Christmas at Silver Falls is no exception to this.
Scarlett is a fixer, and she is bound and determined to find a way to keep the inn that her Gran has run for many years. When she finds out resort owner Charles is in town, and has a personal connection with it, she thinks she has it all figured out. Sadly, it's much more complicated than that.
This book had charm, a surly character who needed some Christmas cheer, and a whole lot of giving. It gave me all the warm fuzzies I needed. There is a small sub plot with Charlie's story that I think could play a part in a future Christmas book if Hale ever so chooses.
Its a perfectly sweet holiday romance! Please go check this one out!

A great read.

I liked how the book is told from both the points of view of Scarlett and Charlie. This is the story of family and forgiveness, and is quite an emotional read.

Scarlett has always had a huge family (and community) Christmas celebration – full of fun, festivities and history at the White Oaks Inn, established by her grandparents and where the family meets every year. Despite the family’s love for the inn, it’s a huge financial burden with her grandmother’s refusal (and inability) to upgrade to a more modern facility able to compete with the all-inclusive resort at the other end of town. The family is gathering for the last holiday, planning to break the news that they want to sell to her grandmother on Boxing Day – allowing everyone one last ‘fling’ to fix memories. Scarlett is upset and worried about her grandmother, and while she can see ways to help save the inn, particularly with her degree in marketing, she knows that the task is more than the family can take on, and perhaps more than they can afford. But in an effort to reaffirm her connections to the town she spent her summers in, she’s stopped into the only bar in town to say hi and hopefully meet with the woman who was a touchstone in her life after her mother’s death. Discovering that the man who lived just down the mountain had a son, and that said son had left a business card with the bar owner after expressing an interest in buying property for an inn, Scarlett takes the card, determined to meet with this stranger and get him to consider the White Oaks Inn.

Charlie has been staying at his father’s abandoned property after purchasing it from his aunt. Riddled with guilt about his estrangement from his father – he’s closed himself off from everything around him, and after dissolving his business, has been passing the profits from his work along to charities and people who ‘need it more’ than he. When Scarlett gets her father’s truck stuck in the deep snow, and is rescued from certain hypothermia by Charlie, she’s curious. He is familiar, but not – closed off but she can see the hurt. Known for rescuing and ‘caring for’ her boyfriends, it’s going to be a long shot to get Charlie to trust in her with his story, and even longer to get her grandmother on board.

From the decidedly ‘Christmas” feel with family coming together and the community being quite tight knit and welcoming through the holiday, to the games, meals, moments of ‘cheer’ and goodwill, and the community’s coming together to ’adopt’ a single mum and her young son after what could have been a tragic accident, the holiday theme, the feeling and the love are clear to see and feel. What’s not as clear is the path to a relationship for Scarlett and Charlie – as much as she pushes, he often closes up or disappears entirely – and the concern expressed by her grandmother about Charlie’s past history and business dealings have her all mixed up. But it will be Charlie who has the keys to saving the inn – both with ideas and money, and the re-imagined business plan – focused on the history and the families that once inhabited the old buildings, along with a bit of magic of the season and his learning to ‘feel’ again rather than run from his emotions have the key to enlivening the inn and inspiriting the family and her grandmother for years to come. Hale has brought ALL the feelings of the perfect holiday to the page – from family and traditions, to a community that’s all in to the season, children’s joy in Santa and even some clever games and long-awaited romances for many.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

First, I want to thank Jenny Hale, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Christmas at Silver Falls is a heartwarming feel-good Christmas romance by Jenny Hale. Even before you open this book you can’t but help fall in love with the cover. It looks like a beautiful picturesque Christmas card with the title planted in the middle of the scenery. The graphic artist did an amazing job and needs to be commended.

Jenny Hale is a very talented and gifted writer. I was amazed by all the detailed descriptions she put into this book. She made you feel like you were right there with the characters. After reading about Silver Falls it would definitely be a place where I would want to visit. However, not in the winter time.

One of my favorite characters in the book was Heidi (yes, I know my name is Heidi. Yes, I did smile when I saw that name in print). I loved how she wanted to go to med school. But the cute part when she was younger, she would practice on her father. That made me smile.

Another part of the story that made me tear up was when Gran was showing Heidi how to bake an Apple Pie. I never got that experience with my Gram. Reading about Gram and her relationships with her family made me miss mine.

Christmas at Silver Falls was all about family and their traditions.

Jenny had a lot of comical parts of the book that I laughed hard at. However, there were some serious moments as well.

This book has a little bit of something for everyone in it. I guarantee you at the end of the book you will be craving homemade Christmas cookies just like the ones Gran made. The Chocolate Peanut Butter ones were calling my name!

If you are a fan of Hallmark's Christmas movies - you will love this! I can completely see this made into a TV movie. While the plot of saving a family hotel from a big developer is a fairly common one, the characters in this made it feel fresh and interesting. I could see myself snuggling up to the fire on Christmas week and loving this book!
