I LOVED this book!! I have read all the books in this series and couldn’t wait for the next instalment of this story! It didn’t disappoint .... I loved the way this story unfolded. All the characters feel like family by this stage. The attention to detail is excellent and I would highly recommend this book. Five stars from me.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Karen Rose fir the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

Having just finished this book like in moments ago, I just had to pen my thoughts immediately! The previous book in the series was a bit of a slower read than this one, but I devoured this book from page one until the end. The plight of the two young boys touched my deeply and I couldn't wait to see if it would pan out for them in the end. (no spoilers). Recommended, can't wait for book 6 in the series.

Into the Dark is a book that is full of heartbreaking, heart-pounding and heartwarming moments. A compelling mystery that goes into interesting directions.

It's finally Dani and Diesel Time !!
This book has been long-awaited as we have seen Diesel pine for Dani in the previous Cincinnati books, and we all know that they would be perfect together.

One of my favourite elements of Karen Roses books is that she highlights different issues. This book focuses on a deaf victim and shines spotlight things that we don't think about. Example our having to have a translator for personal or legal conversation. Or having alarms that light up as you wouldn't hear the noise of an alarm.

Regarding the case, there two different stands going along Micheal, Dani and Diesel story. It was interesting to see how they were connected and how they were weaved into the story.

Another favourite element of Into the dark is that Dani and Diesel aren't perfect they make mistakes, and they have their own issues. But they try their best to do the right thing and to help people.

Karen Rose is the master of creating addictive reads. I read Into the dark in one day as I was so engrossed. I happily put on my headphones, so I could ignore the rest of the world and dice into Dani and Diesel story.

Also, the Cincinnati gang for me will be now known as the marshmallow gang.

Shout out to the Marvel character name for the dogs. Especially that Dani dogs is called Hawkeye.

Into the Dark is perfect for crime fans that like romance with there mystery, and a story that pulls on your heartstrings.

My Rating for Into the Dark is 5 out of 5.

We've been waiting a while for Dani and Diesel's story, and we finally have it in, Into the Dark - the 23rd in Karen Rose's romantic suspense series.

I'll start by saying that all of KR's books are fantastic and it would be very unlikely for me to give them anything other than 5 stars.

Dani is a doctor. She's part of the family KR has built in her universe, that includes Police, FBI, Therapists, Reporters, Volunteers - basically all good people with open hearts and selfless personalities. Diesel is a hacker that works for a newspaper, again part of this massive family we have come to know and love.

Diesel has loved Dani from the moment he set eyes on her 18 months ago, in her free clinic helping disadvantaged and under privileged people who need her help. But she has always pushed him away and told him that they can't be together.

Dani has her reasons for rejecting Diesel, which we find out more about in this book. We learn more about her positive HIV status, her upbringing, her deafness and her previous heartbreaking romance with Adrian.

Of course the Dani/Diesel romance is only half of the story, and we have murder galore in this instalment.

Michael witnesses his step father's murder and must therefore go into protective custody in order to save himself and his younger brother Joshua. Michael is deaf and Joshua is only 5 years old, so to say they are vulnerable is an understatement. The killer is trying to tie up loose ends, so Michael won't be safe until he is caught.

There are other strands that run alongside these two main stories - such as Grant Masterson and his missing siblings. It all ties up nicely in the end though.

I read this one really quickly, and these are big books! :) KR doesn't scrimp on word count, but I believe she makes every one count and doesn't 'waffle'. We have got the steamy sex scenes that we are promised, the gory murders that we have come looking for and we also have the warm family dynamics that we have come to know and love about her universe.

The old favourites, such as Marcus, Stone, Scarlett, Deacon and Adam are all back and quite visible in this story. Every one is needed to help with this case and everyone has their part to play.

I would recommend this to any KR fans, but also anyone who wants a fast paced thriller to get lost in.

Another fabulous book by Karen Rose. It took me a while to remember how all the characters were related, something that I find hard each time I read one of her books!
This was a fast reading book which I struggled to put down leaving the reader guessing how each part links together.

Wow. Just......wow.

Cincinnati book 5 and the one we've all been waiting for. Yes we finally get Dani and Diesels story.

And what a story it is!

It's raw, horrific, real, heart breaking but also warm and compassionate.

I had to stop reading a few times as I was in floods of tears.

I love Karen Rose books as when you pick one up its like meeting up with old friends. The characters begin to feel like real people.

The plot, as ever, is fast, twisting and keeps you on the edge of your seat til the very last page.

Well worth the wait!

5 stars simply because it's not possible to give it more.

This is the 5th book in the Cincinnati Series and I would recommend that whilst this book can be read as a stand alone reading her previous books would be of benefit .
I love how the Author manages to bring characters from previous books/series into her stories , providing a solid background and continuity - but also being able to start another storyline that hooks the reader .

A vigilante has set himself up as judge, jury and executioner and is killing those offenders who might escape justice - what has brought him to this state of affairs ?.
Michael Rowlands sees such a murder when rescuing his younger brother from his depraved step father .
After describing the killer to the police Michael receives a shock when he sees his brother's soccer coach - initially thinking he was seeing the murderer - but Diesel Kennedy is anything but a killer , in fact he is a protector .
Dr Dani Novak is an emergency foster carer and is determined to help protect the boys but needs Diesel's
help .
Despite their obvious attraction to each other she is determined to keep him at arms length , as she has done for the previous 12 months …… her secrets too much for her inflict upon him .
But more bodies are soon found - what is their connection ? who will be next .?
It takes all of Dani and Diesel's resolve and expertise to solve the case , along with their family and friends … whilst keeping the boys safe . Can their feelings survive or will Dani push Diesel away once to often ?

This is the latest in these fast paced , suspense filled , romantic thrillers by this Author and is thoroughly enjoyable .
I look forward to the next book in whichever series she writes .
I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Whenever I read a Karen Rose book no sooner have I finished it than I want to go back and reread all the other books in that series. I love the way her main characters all link up and appear in each others' stories, you can almost tell whose story will feature in the next book.
This book centres around two young boys who inadvertently witness a murder. A vigilante has set himself up as judge, jury and executioner and is wiping out those offenders who might otherwise escape justice.
Of just as much importance however is the fledgling romance between gentle giant Diesel Kennedy and feisty doctor Dani Novak. These two met earlier in the series but in spite of their obvious attraction to each other it seems that they will never get together. This author should be compulsory reading for anyone who wants to write a romantic suspense novel.

Oh My God!!

I’ve cried at books before but never in my life have a cried for genuine sorrow for a character as I did for Diesel and Michael....that was hard to read.

I won’t give away spoilers but I’m so glad I got to read this new book from Karen. I also loved the fact that all the recurring characters make an appearance especially my favourite, Deacon Novak.

That was an hard hitting story, and one I think must have been so emotional to write. As a nurse, I see victims of child abuse and it hurts because I’m also a mum to 3 beautiful children. I would gladly do time for them. I’m glad Michael and Joshua had Dani and Diesel, it shows that family doesn’t have to be blood.

Another absolutely amazing book!!

Who is next???
