This book works well as a standalone as well as the next in a series. The suspense builds up throughput the book. I thought the characters were believable and really well thought out. I really liked the ending. The way it is written is exactly how you want it to end. I hope there is another book to come.

Peter James is one of my favourite authors. I have read all the books about Roy Grace at least once. It always feels like a privilege to read his books.

** spoiler alert ** I've read a lot of Peter James books,but not the first cold hill story.
I think this works well as a stand alone,so that wasn't really an issue.
He's very easy to read. I did this in one sitting 
It was an interesting enough read,with decent background,but I didn't find it particularly creepy until it got to the end and really ramped up the tension and atmosphere.
It was obvious I thought there was a countdown on,so I was just waiting for the inevitable to happen.
There were a few things I could pick fault with.. but they're too minor to bother.
I liked the ending. It actually made me smile.
I'd read book three if there was one.

Another fantastic story from peter James. I raced through this. Creepy dark and atmospheric. Amazing x
