This was a powerful thriller written by an author totally unknown to me.

It grabbed me from the opening page with its description of a banal worker bee or company man, seemingly drifting through his unexceptional career but in reality he is a murderer sending shock waves through Tokyo.

The writing is spare but not a word is wasted and you are soon immersed in the plot.

The descriptions of Japan and life in Tokyo are beautifully drawn as is the struggle on behalf of the police to unearth the killer.

An exceptional book.

Highly recommended.
