Eva and Joshua have a past and due to their work they often see one another, she is a PI and he is a medical examiner, but they have never been in a situation where they had to work together until now.

Eve has to go undercover to find a deviant, a peeping tom only it so much more than that, and she need a fake husband which is where Joshua comes in. They are great together, I loved that we get their back story and see how they work through things while working on the case.

This was a great addition to the series and while it can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading the series in order so you get the full impact of each of the women's stories.

I read book 2, Burning Hearts, immediately upon finishing book 1 of the Women of Heart series. I am so pleased to have found a strong, new to me, author to follow in Marci Bolden. Burning Hearts stands alone, which to me makes a stronger series. This one is a second chances story, and the hero and heroine are easy to root for and applaud their happily ever after. The mystery is fun, the dialogue flirty and the overall novel is entertaining.

Marci Bolden is an amazing author. You feel every word that is written and enjoy every sentence. This book was no different.
Burning Hearts left me wanting more. More of the story, more words more everything. You have to read it to under and the more part.

These characters are amazing. Has kick are ladies, amazing writing, twists, turns, sexy moments and everything in between. (Not to mention a total swoon worthy book boyfriend-- sigh. He even cooks! COOKS!!!! ;) ;) )

You will love these MC's and everything about them. Honestly, I couldn't put this book down. Marci Bolden has an amazing writing style that keeps me captivated until the very end.

I love how this story has fierce female characters. The plot is entertaining with a mix of mystery and romance. The writing keeps you hooked and I can't wait to read more. I tend to lean towards different genres but this series is very well put together and one I could read again and again.

This book follows investigator Eva Thompson. After a spycam is discovered in a secure community, the homeowners association hires HEARTS to track down the culprit. Eva fits the description of the victims and volunteers to go undercover. No one Is thrilled by the idea of her going on her own, especially her ex, Josh.

So to say I am now obsessed with this series is an under statement . I’m loving the characters of protagonist women that can kick butt on short notice ! . This storyline was interesting and I found myself anxious to get back to it at every free moment I had. My only negative is that even though I like a bit of romance intertwined with a good mystery now and again, I don’t like to read intimate details of the sexual encounters, especially if it doesn’t have an impact on the story. But that’s just me, I’m sure others like it just fine. Still, it’s 4 star only because of the sex scenes. I’m starting the 3rd book right after I finish this review. 😊

I was looking forward to this book after reading the first one. It was just as thrilling and had just enough suspense to keep you turning the pages. I loved Eva and Josh together but didn’t feel the same pull with them as Holly and Jack, but this didn’t take away from the amazing story.

Heading back to the ladies of HEARTS, another investigation and this one has Eva's name written all over it. Except no one feels she should lead this alone, and in comes her ex, not only is he a past heart but also an ME and one who helps out the team occasionally. With him though he seems to think that |Eva needs constant protecting and for her this puts a chip on her shoulder as she considers she is strong enough to fight her battles and be the protector as well. Heads will butt as they try to find out who the latest perp is and what their end game is.

Another strong piece of writing and although sometime the main Male lead did rub me the wrong way, the ladies at Hearts once again impressed and kept me reading.

This time around in this series. It's about fellow investigator Eva Thompson and her ex Joshua Simmons. Josh may be her ex but he's also a medical examiner whom helps out Heart. Eva is an ex-cop trying to make her own way. Being a woman in a man's world is tough. She's lived her whole life with people thinking she can't do the job or protect herself. So, when Josh also made her feel that way she dumped him, but that didn't mean she stopped having feelings for him.

With a new case she needs live in back up and Holly makes Josh be her back up. This makes both have to deal with their feelings as well as make Josh realize that Eva's kick ass and can take care of herself.

For Josh his job is death, so he's more scared for people than the average person and especially for Eva because he loves her. He just went the wrong way on how to express his feelings.

Again this book had lots of suspense and surprising turns with a nice balance of romance in there as well.

The more I read this series the more I get hooked with it.

Burning Hearts was a wonderful second book in the HEARTS series of mystery novels by Marci Bolden. When a spycam is discovered in a woman's apartment, she goes to the president of the apartments, who calls in the HEARTS team to get to the bottom of it. Eva is given the assignment and she is put in place in the complex as a new resident to try to find out what is going on and who is planting cameras in the apartments. With the help of her ex-boyfriend Joshua, who moves in with her to protect her, she not only has to solve the mystery of the cameras, but also figure out the mystery of their relationship and why their attraction is still so strong. A stand alone novel, but you'll want to read the first one too!

The second book in this series so a return to some familiar characters. It can certainly be read as a standalone book.
This book had a fairly good storyline but the main male character was a bit weak and wishy washy. Also I didn’t get the connection between the couple so didn’t feel a genuine romantic link. Although I liked the relationship between the female staff of Hearts.
But I just didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first one.
Overall 3.5 stars.

This is Eva and Joshua’ story. When a manager of an apartment building seeks out the HEARTS PI for someone placing hidden cameras in his tenets apartments, it’s Eva’s job to bring that person to justice. But her boss decides she needs backup so Joshua volunteers to be that backup even though he’s not a PI. Can Eva and Joshua catch the bad guy or girl? Have to read to find out.

You can read this as a stand alone but I would recommend reading Holly's book also. The women of HEARTS all have a story to tell and it's interesting to read about each of them. You will also see how everyone else is doing when you read each book as they are family. This book is all about Eva and Josh. Josh complements Eva but what they go through in this book will actually show them that they belong together and what they both need to change in their relationship to make it work. There is also an interesting case you get to follow while they figure out their relationship. These books have a great mix of investigation and relationship and self growth.

Ms. Bolden's series of the female PI's at HEART is half mystery and half romance. The balance is superb so that the stories appeal to lovers of both genres.
In Burning Hearts, Eva is the super confident PI set on uncovering the identity of the person planting hidden cameras in condos. Josh, her ex-boyfriend, may not be schooled in self-defense and may screw things up, but he won't let Eva face danger alone. Twists and turns in the case lead to surprises and danger.
I'm ready for the next in the series!

This is the second book in the Hearts series and it has now become my favorite series. I absolutely loved the first book and loved this one just as much. Marci is an amazing writer and completely sucks you in and doesn't let go of you until the very last page, and even then you want more...more words, more story, more of these strong women who don't let any man tell them what to do or how to do it and get the job done! If you're looking for a great story with strong female characters this is the series for you. I can't wait for Marci to get the rest of this series written so I can devour them and share my love for them with all of my friends who like to read.
