A very twisty thriller where you never know what's going to happen next.

Love that this is based in Ireland it made me feel really happy to be back home albeit through a story.

The female main character was great to follow because she was not going to allow her family to be in danger.

It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

As soon as I started this book, I felt the love in this family. A happy couple with three children living in a warm home. When you peel off the upper layer, you see other thing coming to the surface: a tired mom who has to work even though she would rather be a stay at home mom, a teenage daughter who knows exactly who to turn to to get what she wants, a dad who is selfish and prefers playing golf and going to the pub with the lads in stead of taking his responsabilities and two lovely adorable little boys.

They muddle on until that one moment in time when everything is about to change and nothing can be done to undo all this...

Everybody has a few secrets and tell white lies. There is nothing wrong with that, but when you are hiding something this big that can and will affect your whole family, the best thing to do is to come clean as soon as possible. And that's precisely where the problem lies.

Confessing something is not easy, but when people find out you were not being honest, relationships can be on the brink of breaking. The question is: will you be able to repair the damage that has been done?

I felt for Sally. Although she does the most of the work, putting herself and her dreams on the back burner for her family, she always seems te be the last to know. I loved her two gorgeous sons and her feisty daughter and her husband Tom deserves a wake up call.

I adored the girls, being Sally's colleagues. They did not waste any time. They dived in and acted. No questions asked. :)

A very enjoyable story. 5 stars

Thank you

I enjoyed this book and felt it was paced well until the ending. The ending was very sudden and didn’t fit with the rest of the story.
Otherwise a good book

A gripping, entertaining novel that begs the question - do you truly know the people in your life? Can one truly know their wife/husband? Their friends?

I love a good domestic thriller and this book did not disappoint. I love a good book that keeps you hooked to the very end, and is filled with lies, secrets and betrayal and there is plenty of that in this novel.

Definitely one you'll want to read.

This was a bit of a mixed bag for me! I loved the writing style, I loved the cliff hangers at the end of chapters, however I really didn’t like sally! When she is shown a photograph at work of her husband with his arms round a young boy, and told he was the boys father, Sally’s whole world unravels!
There were many twists that kept my interest, despite my frustration at Sally! A solid 3.5 rounded up to a 4 because it was so well written!

"You know everything about your husband. Don't you?
He loves you. He loves your children. He'd never put his family in danger.

One of these is a lie."

I don't want to give away the story, but there are twists and turns that keep you reading. It was gripping thriller that had me on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy for an honest review.

It starts out very slow and kind of boreing but then it picked up and got interesting.
The story itself was interesting and full of lies and secrets. It would have been much better had Sally not been such a awful person. I did feel like all of the characters except Sally lacked good charcter development. Which was another thing that brought the rating down. I was very impressed by the twist, lies, and secrets that kelpt coming and kelpt me turning the pages. I am definitely going to be reading more books by this author.

I try to be fair when giving reviews soooo.....I didn’t like this. But that doesn’t mean you won’t. I think people should always try the first 50 pages of books. I did and couldn’t go further. Sorry.

First of all, thank you Netgalley and Hera Books for granting me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Sally and Tom live a busy life with their teenage daughter and 3 year old twins.
Financially things are though and Sally is forced to spend time away from her family in order to pay the bills working as a hairdresser.
It is in the salon that one of her customers unexpectedly puts her whole world upside down when she innocently shows Sally a picture of her boyfriend and his father. The man in the picture is her husband Tom...
Did Tom really hide a son from her and if so what else did he lie to her about…

Although this story started off really well and got me intrigued I must admit that I sort of lost interested along the way. In fact, I was annoyed by the lack of dialogue between Sally and Tom. I couldn't comprehend why Sally didn't just sat down with Tom and demand straight up answers about what was going on.
I also didn't understand why Tom wasn't working and why Sally put up with him trotting off to the pub or golf course when they had a crisis going on at home.
The whole plot line turned out to be pretty far fetched in my opinion and I didn't feel connected to any of the characters...

I'm sorry to say this book wasn't really for me.
